Dr. Arta Moaddab grew up in Potomac, Maryland. He recieved his bachelors degree in Biology from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2005. After graduating, he attended Georgetown University to complete his Master's degree in Physiology. He then received his dental training at the University of Maryland college of Dental Surgery and graduated in 2012.

Dr. Arta finished his training and received his masters degree in Physiology and alternative medicine at Georgetown University and believes strongly in combining oral health with a whole body approach. When clients ask, he often spends time helping improve overall health and well being which include, diet and exercise regiments as an added bonus.
Dr. Melika Shatergholi receiving her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Maryland, College of Dental Surgery in 2007, Dr. Melika has been quickly establishing herself in the field of Dentistry. Dr. Moaddab DDS was gentle, caring and did an excellent job replacing an old crown for me. I experienced no pain whatsoever! Very impressive! I liked his staff as well, they were friendly, answered all of my questions and handled everything professionally. The dental hygenist was very caring, and gave me many good pointers. But I found the Cavitron machine did not work for me personally.

Have really enjoyed coming here, especially Eilane the dental technician. She always has great advice and is more gentle at flossing than I am myself and yet still thoroughly cleans each side of each tooth. I've been going to the dentist twice a year for 25 years and she's the best dental tech I have ever had.

I highly recommend this dental practice. I am so happy with the care I received. My experience from start to finish was just amazing. Friendly and professional staff and a comfy environment. Absolutely amazing!!!

Great office located in Potomac village, the office is very clean , staff is very profesional. They accommodated my appointment to my busy schedule . The doctor was very friendly, made me feel very comfortable , he took his time to talk to explain my crown procedure . I was very nerves , but the doctor and his assistant made me feel very comfortable. I highly recommend this dental office . They made me feel very welcoming

I'm giving 2 stars because I found the front desk to be really top notch. I called around to a few dentists before booking based on the phone interaction and this place had the best front desk staff that I experienced. The rest was awkward and disappointing. The technician I started with did the standard intake along with x-rays and images. As expected they recommended a deep cleaning as I had some build up under the gums. I agreed to do the service but didn't allocate the additional time needed to get that service done and asked that we at least do the cleaning I came for. At this time the primary care dentist came in and proceeded to ask me how I liked Maryland over California. Not being from California I was confused and let them know I wasn't from there and he got annoyed with me. He then proceeded to check my teeth some more and for some reason remove a couple of my old fillings without letting me know he was going to do that. The dentist then proceeded to tell me how the technician was the best at deep cleanings and said he'd get back so they could begin the process. I let him know that I didn't have time for it and I wanted my cleaning I came for. He didn't acknowledge what I said and proceeded to get the technician. At this time the technician came back and said "Okay let's get you scheduled for your deep cleaning" to which I said okay but I still want my cleaning. He replied "Well, it doesn't make sense to do the cleaning without the deep cleaning and we now have to replace your fillings" I asked what the total would be and he said that they couldn't give me a quote until I filled out the new patient paperwork. So they took X-Rays, removed fillings without telling me and didn't perform the service I came for without me actually being a patient. Then wouldn't let me know much all of this would cost until I filled out the paper work which seemed shady at best. I see my review is unique so maybe I just had a bad visit but it made enough of an impression I wanted to share it. Anyway I found a better fit but I hope whoever goes here gets clearer communication. Update: I did speak with the doctor and he gave me a thoughtful explanation. It could have gone better during the visit but I do appreciate the time he took to talk through it. Will move to a 4 but did use another dental office.

The front desk staff makes you feel right at home immediately when you walk in the door. Everything was on time and it was an extremely professionally office. The Doctor explained me about everything that I need to get done. The Dental cleaning was excellent with Elaine. I am extremely satisfied with this Dental office.

I made an appointment with this dentist just because my old crown is loose. All I need is to remove the crown and see what must be done next. The dentist refused to do this. He said this work takes so many steps but he has no time. I felt like I have done something wrong. Luckily, I didn't need to pay for this. Of course, now I have to find another dentist who has time for my tooth. P.S. What does it mean where I came from? The geographical location of my birthplace has nothing to do with my teeth. I am a US citizen since 1995.

I was told I needed a root canal and there was no other option. I am very against root canals (watch the documentary "ROOT CAUSE") so I went to another dentist for a second opinion expressed my concerns and she did a "pulp cap". After the procedure she said to me "I'm glad you refused a root canal because the decay wasn't even as deep as it looked on the x-ray". My tooth is totally fine now and the pulp cap/deep filling is a MUCH healthier, conservative and cheaper option than a root canal!!! ALWAYS get a second opinion and advocate for yourself.

The review is for the emergency response care Standard Dental was able to provide. I had a fractured tooth over the weekend and left a message on their hotline. Within hours I received a call back, received a phone consultation, and received an appointment for that Monday. After the office exam they were also able to get me in to see a specialist on the same day to start the treatment of my issue. Fast, friendly, & efficient!

I've only had experience with Dr. Arta and his assistants and they're fantastic - friendly, gentle, demonstrated expertise. I've gone through quite a few dentists in my lifetime moving from city to city, and glad to say I've found the best so far with Standard Dental! Thank you Dr. Arta and your amazing staff.

I'm always anxious and fearful to see a new dentist but Dr. Melika Shatergholi's welcoming and warm manner instantly put me at ease. She has the lightest and most gentle hands and technique that I didn't even feel any of the needles on each visit. She inspired the utmost confidence by her competence, skill and knowledge of the best techniques and technology for my case. She explained the problem areas and the pros and cons of treatment options and procedures thoroughly to help me make informed decisions. Indeed, Dr. Shatergholi made sure she understood my concerns. And I will never forget how she went above and beyond the call of duty to follow up my case with the lab directly and monitor shipment to ensure the treatment and procedures were completed in time for my overseas flight. I walked away with 2 beautiful front crowns that look so natural I cannot stop smiling. Thank you very much, Dr. Shatergholi! With respect to Standard Dental, it's clean, modern and safe; easy to schedule an appointment; excellent wait time; staff always courteous, pleasant and professional. I would definitely recommend Dr. Shatergholi and Standard Dental in a heart beat.
