Dr. David Stahr, DDS is an oral and maxillofacial surgeons (OMFS or OMS). Dr. Stahr is a board certified oral surgeon. He completed an internship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Baylor Hospital in Dallas, Texas and then went on to spend another four years as an oral and maxillofacial surgery resident at West Virginia University in Morgantown, West Virginia. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS) and an active member of continuing medical education so that he can be at the forefront of this advanced specialty.
A common question is what exactly is an oral surgeon? Oral and maxillofacial surgeons (OMFS or OMS) are unique among dental specialists in a number of ways. After completing a 4 year dental program to earn their doctorate, they go on to spend another four to six years in a rigorous hospital-based residency program for surgery.
They are trained alongside other medical and surgical residents and are in fact the only other health care specialists (aside from anesthesiologists) who can administer all levels of sedation. Oral surgeons focus on treating complex surgical problems related to the hard and soft tissues of the face, mouth and jaws. Common problems they address are impacted teeth, complex dental extractions, performing dental implants, treatment and removal of some oral cancers and even higher level procedures such as facial reconstruction after trauma.

Overall great experience! The staff is great and Dr. Stahr did a great job removing my wisdom. It was a quick procedure and recovery hasn't been bad. Definitely recommend!

I went here a few weeks ago for a 3 wisdom tooth extractions. I'll keep this review short. If you want just overall quick and standard service this is the place to go. Clean environment, thorough explanations during consultation and speedy service. Dr. Stahr was quick and to the point. Only reason for 4 instead of 5 is because during my visit after my wisdom tooth removal over throbbing pain, there was an interaction with an individual that came off a little condescending and rushed. Maybe it was a busy day though but I felt like my concerns were brushed off instead of explained. Overall, I would recommend for wisdom teeth removal! They did a great job in general.

Just got done with having a tooth extraction. I was SUPER anxious going in there as I have quite a bit of fear in general of going to the dentist. This was, hands down, the best dental experiences of my life. Very nice and friendly staff and Dr. Stahr was very patient with me and explained everything he was doing (and why he was doing it) before he did it. I will definitely be coming back here if I need dental surgery again and will be recommending him to all my family and friends. Good job!

Dr stahr was very nice and took really good care of my daughter she had all 4 wisdom teeth out at once. He called himself the night of the procedure to check on her which i thought was very nice and caring. Staff was also extremely nice , clean office ,was very easy to get to in Morgantown. Dr Stahr explained the process in good detail. Called me the night of the surgery to check on me. I had a stitch come out, and he took care of it on the weekend. Its been a couple of years, and the implant is flawless.

I was in a lot of pain, Dr. Stahr was able to get me in for a consultation the SAME day, and schedule a surgery on the weekend. I have been on the waiting list with oral surgeons for a few months now. He explained the procedure and answered my million questions. He made sure I had no apprehensions before surgery. Since I was awake, He walked me through step by step what to expect and anticipate. He personally called me the night of to check up on me. I haven't seen this degree of health care!

I will only see Dr. Star for any future oral surgeries and will recommend anyone I see to this office. I am extremely squeamish, to the point where I almost passed out on the walk to the room. But the staff at the Morgantown office was very friendly and caring. They did a great job calming me down and keeping me relaxed. Also, compared to close friends I had minimal swelling and discomfort after the procedure. I honestly couldn't recommend this place any more. Also, special thanks to Harley for covering up the utensils laying out in the room so I wouldn't see them.
