As a Board-Certified Endodontist, a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics, Dr. Sullivan operates a private practice in Jacksonville, Florida with two locations. His endodontic certificate, Master of Science in Dental Sciences, and DMD degrees were awarded by the University of Florida. Additional degrees include a second Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado and a Biological Engineering Bachelor of Science from North Carolina State University.
Prior to his transition to dentistry, he served as a forensic engineer with Knott Laboratory in Denver, Colorado as well as a Process Engineer with Bayer Corporation in Clayton, North Carolina. During his endodontic residency, Dr. Sullivan presented his research at annual meetings of the American Association of Endodontists at locations including Vancouver, Orlando, San Diego, and San Antonio. Professional organization affiliation includes membership in the American Association of Endodontists, American Board of Endodontics, American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, and Jacksonville Dental Society.
Educational and employment endeavors have given Dr. Sullivan the opportunity to live in seven states, two countries (England and Australia), and St. Thomas. He enjoys volunteering his time with such organizations as Give Kids a Smile. His wife, Dr. Laura Sullivan, also operates in private practice as a pediatric dentist St. Johns Pediatric Dentistry. They have three children Tucker, Grace, and Anders. As a family they enjoy their time together participating in many outdoor activities including paddle boarding, wakeboarding, fishing, and snowboarding.
Dr. Thomas Currie is a Board-Certified endodontist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics. He earned his Endodontic Certificate, Master of Science in Dental Sciences, and DMD degrees at the University of Florida. Additional degrees include a Master of Science in Medical Sciences and Bachelor of Science in Psychology, also from the University of Florida.
During his endodontic residency, Dr. Currie presented his research at the American Association of Endodontists annual sessions in Honolulu, Hawaii, and Washington, DC. In 2014, he was presented with The Top Ten Research Oral Presentation Award by Dentsply. Professional organization affiliation includes membership in the American Association of Endodontists, American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, Jacksonville Dental Society, and the Northeast Dental District Association. In addition, he has gained experience in providing endodontic therapy for adults with developmental disabilities and the underserved population through state programs established by the Agency for Persons with Disabilities and the Florida Department of Health. He also donates his time back to the University of Florida and is an adjunct clinical instructor in the post-doctoral endodontic clinic.
Dr. McClure is a Board-Certified endodontist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics. He graduated #1 in his class from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and earned his Endodontic Certificate from Tufts University in Boston. Originally from Virginia, he received a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Virginia.
Dr. McClure takes a special interest in new technology, incorporating the most effective techniques in CBCT 3-dimensional imaging, microsurgery, and root canal disinfection. As a strong believer in evidence-based dentistry, he stays current with the latest endodontic literature, adopting the most effective clinically proven materials and methods into his technique. Aside from treating patients, Dr. McClure enjoys teaching, having served as a lecturer and clinical instructor at Tufts University. He has volunteered in numerous Mission of Mercy events (Harrisburg, PA, Roanoke, VA, and Springfield, Va), and provided free dental care in foreign countries Costa Rica and Nicaragua.
Dr. McClure is a member of the American Association of Endodontics (AAE), Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU) National Dental Honor Society, American Dental Association (ADA), Florida Dental Association, Northeast District Dental Association, and Jacksonville Dental Society.

My last root canal was 25 years ago so when I had to get another one last week my emotions were in fright and flight! Well what a glorious surprise to experience the new innovations in this procedure. It was over and I felt such relief that can only be exceeded by the compassion and skilled care of Dr Currie and Cassidy! Thank you from me and my family!

This place was really great the last time I went for a root canal about a year ago so I called them back to do another root canal over a month ago. Everything seemed fine until the office called to confirm my appointment for the next day and that's when she told me that my Aetna insurance was no longer accepted and it is going to cost me $1400. Well that is unacceptable why didn't they tell me over a month ago that they stopped taking Aetna back in January when I made the appointment. Now I'm going to be in pain longer until I can get into another office.

I had a negative experience with a couple of staff members, and expressed my disappointment on a Google review. However, I received a courtesy call from "Oog", she apologized for my experiences, and shared, their goal is patient satisfaction. If this is the goal, she deserves more than 5 stars. Dr. Sullivan was absolutely wonderful performing my root canal; his demeanor and bedside manners are professional, reassuring, and honest. He is attentive: I felt as if my original dose of numbing agent was too light in my cheek and he listened and added more to make sure I was totally numb for the process, which was painless in and of itself. Both he and his assistant (apologies, but I cannot for the life of me remember her name) worked very hard to save my tooth, and a fantastic review for a job well done is just a small way to repay their kindness. Thank you!

First time having a root canal and was glad Dr. McClure and staff were the office my dentist referred me to! Everyone was very nice and professional, I especially liked that Dr. McClure explained every step of the process during the procedure, which helped ease my nerves a lot. I even got a check-in call from Dr. McClure personally later in the day to see how I was doing. Overall great experience, would highly recommend!

As a person who feels traumatized from my whole life of dental work, I had to go here for a re treat on a root canal and was very nervous. Dr. Sullivan and Holly were great. My recovery has been easy, they have a very chill vibe in the office, very quick and professional. He seems very knowledgeable as well and I feel confident my tooth will hopefully stick around a while now. He even called me from his cell to check on me later. Highly recommend for the fearful like myself. I hope I don't have to see them again but won't be scared to go back.

I had horrible, debilitating tooth pain and it was determined I had a dying nerve. I called in the morning and they were able to get me in THE SAME day. Dr Sullivan was very reassuring and a consumate professional. The whole process was seamless and he was able to do my root canal without pain in a relaxing environment in less than two hours. Iam grateful to Dr Sullivan and staff for making such a painful process easy. Highly recommend.

Dr. Sullivan and the St. Johns Endodontics team provided a first-class experience from start to finish. The front desk was very helpful and accommodating in getting my appointments scheduled, and the back office assistants were so kind and thoughtful in making sure I was comfortable. Dr. McClure is the BEST! I had to have a root canal and from the outset, Dr. McClure explained everything he was going to do step by step. When there was a hidden canal, he took more x-rays and finished the job. The amazing part was other than the shot on the roof of my mouth that hurt for 30 seconds...this hour long procedure was completely painless! This was unbelievable and has never happend to me before. Even after the numbness wore off there was no pain. Incredible! I told him I wish he was my regular Dentist. I highly recommend Dr. McClure to everyone. This was my 3rd root canal so I know what I am talking about. Thank you Dr. McClure!!!!

I had 2 root canals performed by Dr. Sullivan simultaneously back in 2016 and had such a great experience that I specifically sought him out for another root canal this year. Dr. Sullivan is extremely efficient, communicates well and I've had absolutely no pain after the procedures. He called personally after this last procedure to check on me which is unusual for any doctor. I would definitely recommend him and the entire office staff is awesome!

Incredible, can't believe the efficiency of this facility and the doctors and assistants. Had a root canal on a molar and was in and out in under an hour. No pain after the procedure or the next day. Fair price for the procedure without insurance and they didn't hassle me about it at the front desk.

I was seen in this office on an emergency basis for a root canal . Dr Currie and his assistant Steph were wonderful to work with . They kept me updated every step of the way through the procedure . Probably the easiest root canal that I have had done . Very professional and respectful office . Highly recommend

Could not be better. I called them a few minutes before their posted closing time (4:00 PM) needing a root canal. They offered an immediate appointment. I arrived at around 4:15, and the entire procedure was complete by 5:30. Super friendly staff and fine work by Dr. McClure and assistant Cassidy, explaining everything they were doing, always concerned about my comfort. They deserve every one of the 5 stars.

These folks got me in on short notice the same day when I was in a lot of pain. They were the 8th Endodonist I called that day. Dr. Sullivan, his Dental Assistant Mandy, and the rest of the staff were phenomenal with their care and very professional. I highly recommend them!

I can't thank Dr Sullivan enough for having resolved my issue.. I had a cracked molar for a month (didn't know it!) and with mild pain until I had something cold to drink and I was in severe pain. I had to have a root canal done and no pain hardly after that same day. A little soreness in the area is obvious.. He was describing the procedure all along and he even took the time to call me that night to make sure I was ok. Never had that happened before with any dental office. His staff is very good as well! From the time I scheduled my appointment all the way until I left the office! Great experience!
