Dr. Varlakova has been a dentist in Wine Countrysince 2011, and has chosen to put down roots in St. Helena with her husband and partner, Dr. Lee Tetz. Born in Bulgaria, she comes our wayhaving grown up in Toronto, Canada, and then pursued her Bachelor of Science degree in Nutritional Biology at Rutgers University in New Jersey, followed by the School of Dentistry at Loma Linda University in Southern California.
While a student, Dr. Varlakova wasdistinguished with Honors in Pediatric Dentistry, was elected to the Deans List, and received numerous awards in Periodontology, Esthetics, and Pedodontics, among others. She has also taken numerous continuing education courses in the study of cariology, esthetics, laser dentistry, nutrition, and more. She participates in numerous collegiate groups including the prestigious FACE and SPEAR Study Clubs. She is currently in the process of completing an advanced dental residency at the highly-regarded LA Institute of Supra-Gingival Dentistry with Dr. Ruiz, one of hermentors. She takes numerous continuing education courses to be as up-to-date as possible in her profession.

Honestly best experience I've ever had with a dentist office!! Dr. Varlakova and her staff are as sweet as they are talented. I've needed some major work and I'm so happy with the results! Her prices are great and the office is clean. No wait time what more can I say!! 5 stars!!

I received a warm welcome and a complete exam including cleaning, e-rays, evaluation and consultation with the dentist, Dr Varlakova. I was extremely impressed by how professional and capable every member of the staff is. The office was meticulously clean. I look forward to a long association with this practice. They are excellent!

On vacation and had an emergency -lost a filling. Called Dr. Varlakova and she made time for me in her busy schedule. She did an excellent job. And I was off in less than an hour. Best dental experience I have ever had.

St. Helena Family Dentistry has provided myself and my 3 young kids excellent service. They've made visiting the dentist enjoyable and fun for my kids and I always enjoy my cleanings. They've always been very accommodating getting us in at the last minute and informing us of all things dental related. I highly recommend them!

Truly the best dental experience of my life. Dr. Varlakova and the entire staff are highly professional and their facilities are state of the art, but in addition to that, they really care about the well being of each patient. I (a new patient) called late on a Friday needing immediate help with a broken abscessed tooth which had to come out. Dr. Varlakova and Dr.Tetz actually list their cell phone numbers in case of after hours emergencies! Based on what I described, Dr. Varlakova immediately called the pharmacy and subscribed antibiotics to knock down the fast speading, pain causing, infection. She kept checking in with me during the weekend and immediately extracted the tooth. I've never had that level of caring and service from a DDS or for that matter any other physician as well, before. To say that St. Helena Family Dentistry, Dr. Varlakova, and the entire staff get my highest recommendation, would be an understatement. -Jerry Jacopetti

From out of state visiting the Napa Valley. Lost two crowns away from home. Dr. Tetz & Dr. Varlakova at St. Helena Family dentistry were able to see me then make & place two crowns all in one visit. The dentists & their staff were wonderful. My crowns are beautiful.

When my family was faced with the pandemic and then lost our home to the glass fire, Dr. Varlakova heard of our situation and did something extraordinary. I had a novel cavity that needed filling, a replacement nightguard to be fitted, and a general check up which were all personally handled by Dr. Varlakova. She did not charge me for this due to my circumstances. I am so grateful to her and her staff for taking care of me.
