Dr. Demetrakopulos was born in Northern California and raised throughout the United States and Europe. She became interested in dentistry at the age of 15 while she was having orthodontic treatment in Germany. Soon after she began working as a dental assistant for a well-known restorative dentist in Nuremberg, Germany.

This sparked her enthusiasm for dentistry, and upon returning to the U.S., she enrolled at San Francisco State University and graduated with a BS in Cellular Biology. She went on to attend the University of the Pacific Dental School, where she graduated in 1984. Upon graduation from UOP, she completed a residency with Branemark Implant System. This is when she decided that she would focus on Implant and Restorative dentistry, as well as Cosmetic Dentistry.

Dr. Demetrakopulos opened her practice in downtown San Francisco, where she created some of the Bay Areas most beautiful smiles. In 2004, she decided to move out of the big city, and start a practice in the heart of the Napa Valley Wine Country. She was now able to combine her love of dentistry along with her passion for food and wine. Her state-of-the-art practice in St. Helena is located in the restored depot building. Vineyard views and rolling hills are enjoyed outside the windows, and every day, the Napa Valley Wine Train stops outside the door.

Dr. Demetrakopulos works in partnership with her Artistic and Laboratory director, Mr. Jerry Parks. He is one of the best laboratory masters of porcelain fabrication in California. Working together, Dr. D and Mr. Parks custom make smiles, choosing the perfect shape and the shade to give patients the smile they have always dreamed of.

Dr. Omar Gabr has been living his dream of becoming a dentist since 2011! He takes pride in delivering the highest quality of care to patients and addressing all their dental needs in a personalized manner.

Dr. Gabr earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from University of the Pacific in San Francisco, graduating in the top 10% of his class, he was inducted to Phi Kappa Phi & Tau Kappa Omega Dental Honor Societies with high honors. He believes in the importance of continuing education, that's why he travels all over the country to learn from renowned world-class teachers like Frank Spear and John Kois. He has taken advanced curriculums specializing in Dental Implants, Cosmetic Dentistry, Invisalign and Endodontics (Root Canal Treatment) to name a few!

Dr. Gabr is an active member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Delta Sigma Delta Dental Fraternity, Spear Study Club and Seattle Study Club.

Dr. Rachel Brinker is originally from Kentucky and found her way to Marin County after attending dental school and residency on the East Coast. Rachel received her D.M.D. degree from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA and her Certificate in Periodontics from the Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in New York, NY.

Dr. Brinker has been practicing periodontics for the past 10 years. She appreciates and enjoys cultivating the relationships she develops and maintains with patients and colleagues. Dr. Brinker values the collaborations periodontics allows her to foster on a daily basis while helping patients achieve their treatment goals in a relaxed, attentive manner.

Rachel enjoys being in the outdoors and taking advantage of all that the Bay Area has to offer. She runs, hikes, mountain bikes, enjoys crossfit, the beach, and anything active. Rachel also loves exploring the Bay Area, and so much more, with her two young daughters, Sienna and Sabrina.

Dr. Rod Ellison is a General Dentist with over 35 years of experience. He is a calm, gentle dentist who believes in high-quality, lasting, and beautiful solutions, and he never loses sight of the patients overall needs.

He is comfortable working across every aspect of dentistry from maintenance and prevention to restorations, implants, and cancer screenings, to meticulous cosmetic work (veneers and full porcelain crowns).

Dr. Ellison grew up in the Central Valley. He received a BS in biology from PUC here in St. Helena and then, motivated by his love of working with his hands, he continued on to Loma Linda School of Dentistry. Following graduation, Dr. Ellison and his wife moved to Washington State, where he owned and operated a dentistry practice for 33 years. In 2011, they moved back to St. Helena where they first met. They absolutely love this community and are here to stay.

Appearance is not the only benefit of wearing Invisalign for straighter teeth, since straighter teeth can also benefit one's oral health. In fact crooked teeth can trap food between them and lead to infection or bite issues. At St. Helena Dental Studio, we offer Invisalign as a treatment for patients interested in discreetly straightening their teeth.

Invisalign is a series of clear aligner trays that cover the teeth, similar to a retainer or mouth guard, but are much more discreet. At least every two weeks or so, the patient will switch to the next set in the series of Invisalign trays. With the custom aligners for each patient, Invisalign will gradually push the teeth into the right position without causing significant amounts of pain.

After creating the trays, we will then meet with the patient to ensure that they fit and that the patient understands all of the steps in the straightening process. It is important that the patient understand a few key factors about wearing Invisalign on a regular basis.

While the patient can remove Invisalign trays when necessary, the patient will want to keep them in as much as possible. The longer the patient does not wear the trays for, the longer the entire process will take. Patients need to remove the aligner trays when eating and to brush the teeth.

Patients can also remove the aligner trays to play in a sports game, give a presentation, go on a date, or while taking a photo. It is important to at least rinse the mouth after eating to keep food from getting caught in the teeth.

The patient will be able to continue through each aligner tray and follow a schedule with no surprises. By following the schedule, the patient's teeth will continue to move into the proper position without pain.

While wearing Invisalign, patients will not have to brush and floss between brackets with difficulty. In fact, the patient will be able to brush and floss as normal by just removing the aligner trays. However, it is crucial that the patient brush after each meal to keep food from sticking between the teeth.

Food that is stuck in the teeth can also damage the aligners. It is important that patients do not wear the aligners while drinking soda or other beverages while wearing Invisalign aligners. We recommend that patients only keep the aligners in when drinking water.

We customize the Invisalign aligners to fit the patient's teeth and then use programming technology to digitally map out the projected rate of movement for the patient. We will then build the rest of the clear aligners in the series. Each new set of aligners will be a bit closer to the correct position for straight teeth.

With a customized straightening treatment, patients do not need to worry about the aligners falling out or being loose. Since there is no one-size-fits-all treatment, we make sure that the trays are the right fit for each patient.

Invisalign aligner trays are nearly invisible to the point that few people will notice them unless the individual mentions wearing them. Patients will not have to feel embarrassed by wearing traditional metal braces or a mess of wires in their mouth on a regular basis. Invisalign allows for the patient to receive the straight smile they desire without the maintenance of going through braces treatment.
