A native of Michigan, Dr. Tozer grew up in Hart, Michigan. He completed his bachelors degree in biology and chemistry at Adrian College in Adrian, Michigan. After earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Michigan in 1991, he worked as an associate dentist in Grand Rapids, MI.
Dr. Tozer attends numerous continuing education classes at the Scottsdale Center of Advanced Dentistry, a leading institute for the practice of comprehensive dental care, treatment of Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction (TMJ), and complex restorative issues.
He and Jennifer, his wife of 24 years, live in Roscommon with their daughter. Their interests include their daughters college volleyball activities, and as supporters of the Association to Rescue Kritters (ARK). At ARK, Dr. Tozer had the opportunity to use his dental skills to save a red-tailed hawk that had lost its beak in an encounter with a car. Dr. Tozer used dental materials to build a temporary beak while the natural beak regenerated. He is an avid fisherman, hunter, and enjoys bowling in the winter. He is also active in his church.
She graduated in 1978 and was employed at an Aerospace Engineering Company where she was a Senior Administrator. In 1987, she graduated from Kee Business College receiving a Medical Assistant degree and was employed at Portsmouth General Hospital and Obstetrics and Associates.
She also loves gardening, relaxing by the lake, refurbishing vintage furniture and most of all, photography. Ruth has won numerous awards through the Roscommon Conservation District and has had her photographs published
Jen and Dr. Tozer met when he was in dental school and were married in 1991. They moved to St. Helen in 1999. Their daughter, Katie was born 1997 and graduated from Roscommon High School with top honors in 2015. Jen is not only proud of Katies academic achievements, but her prowess on the Volleyball court as well.
Jen enjoys spending time with her family including her husband, Chad, four step-children and her dog, Darby. They are avid outdoorsmen and often take pleasure in ORVing, hunting, fishing, shooting, mushrooming, traveling and boating together. Chad and Jen share a home in the woods and take pride in their skills in the kitchen preparing many fine meals with the rewards mother nature has provided.
Donna graduated from Freeland High School in 1979. She moved to the Houghton Lake area after she married her husband Steve in 1981. Their four beautiful daughters and five grandchildren are their pride and joy.

Had a crown fall off over the weekend. Received call from office first thing Monday morning and was taken care of that afternoon. GREAT JOB!! Fast, Friendly, and affordable. Best dentist around. Thank you for taking care of my crown issue.

I was just in there with a bad tooth and they did everything to make sure I was comfortable. I would most definitely recommend them for a dentist office.

I went in for my cleaning and Ruth, Jennifer and Dr Tozer are always very friendly, compassionate and thoughtful. Whenever I have to lay back for a cleaning or any other dental work, they are very conscious about making sure I am comfortable and tolerating the procedure.

This was for a 6-month hygienist visit. The staff at St. Helen Family Dentistry are so friendly, it feels like visiting friends. As I stated to the front desk...."I hate dentists, but I love Dr. Tozer!"
