Every human life is a sacred gift from God. At St. Dominics, our team of caregivers views each individual as specialto be treated with the utmost respect. No matter the phase of life, our goal is to provide our patients with exceptional care for all aspects of the human existencebody, mind and spirit. We strive to not only provide care for the sick but also offer education and wellness services to our community in order to improve the health status of those around us and eliminate risk factors for more serious health problems.

God has called us to administer compassion and health care in His name to the people of Mississippi. Living the Mission established by the founding Sisters, the Dominican Sisters of Springfield, Illinois, and continued today by the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady, is at the heart of the care we provide. We fulfill this effort through advanced medical services in a state-of-the-art hospital and outpatient center, through caring for older adults in a continuing care retirement facility, through our primary and urgent care services, and into the community through a number of wellness and outreach programs.

St. Dominics mission calls us to establish community and perform service in the name of Jesus Christ. To us, that means giving of our time, talents and resources to make our communities better places to live. Our family of caregivers not only serves our patients, but also contributes to an atmosphere of care and compassion for those outside our hospital walls.

Realizing that most hospital stays today are not a result of disease but of unhealthy lifestyle choices, St. Dominics takes an active role in teaching individuals to take responsibility for their own health. Disease prevention and reducing or eliminating risk factors within each individual are at the forefront of all St. Dominics outreach services. Our wellness programs encourage you to reach and maintain a healthy weight, to stay active through exercise, enrichment and social activities, and to seek more holistic approaches to optimal health and well-being.

In addition to our clinical services, St. Dominics offers classes and programs designed to fit your wellness needs. No matter your age, fitness level or stage of life, we encourage you to get involved and improve your health through our newHealthy Weight Advantage weight management program,The Club at St. Dominics andNew Directions for Over 55. If youre expecting, you and your spouse can choose from a number of classesfrom Prepared Childbirth, to Breastfeeding, to Infant CPR and Car Seat Safetyall designed to thoroughly prepare you both for your new arrival.

No matter what life-changing experiences come your way, you may find comfort and hope in sharing feelings and concerns about your situation with others whove had similar circumstances. Support groups help by bringing you together to facilitate discussions, by teaching you coping skills for your disease or situation and by giving you a sense that you are not alone.

A number of support groups meet monthly on St. Dominics campus. They are free to the public and are led by professionals who understand what you are going through and have the resources to help you. In turn, you may inspire someone else and give hope to someone during a difficult time.

The St. Dominic Health Services Foundation supports the mission and vision of St. Dominic Health Services, furthering the two main ministries of education and health care through giving initiatives that communicate a Christian message, establish community and perform service.

The Foundation broadens our organizations ability to care for the under served and develop a greater partnership with the community. Our Foundation vision Creating a Healthier Community is a key component in communicating a simple, yet vital message to patients, employees, friends and neighbors, and the community as a whole.

Your donations of finances and time will have a direct impact on our community and help us change the face of healthcare and education in our area. In addition to the general treatment and care services we provide through St. Dominic Health Services and St. Dominic Hospital, we are committed to community outreach and transforming lives.

The Legacy Society was created to recognize those generous and visionary individuals who have included St. Dominic Health Services Foundation in their estate plans. They are providing long term and critical support, and it is on this support that the future of St. Dominics rests.

Recently, my sister has had a couple of bad nose bleeds. She was diagnosed with Afib a few months ago and has other medical concerns so we didn't need nosebleeds to complicate other issues. I asked them to work her in the schedule and see her as soon as possible. She had alraady made a decision to use them as her ENT doctors. They graciously gave her an appontment that day. The doc found a broken vein in her nose and cauterized it. He also cleaned out her ear. I am so thankful that they saw the urgency and allowed her in that day! I am so grateful!!
