Dr. Apolonio Lirio, a West Virginia native, graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. After working as a nurse for several years he decided to become a dentist. Dr. Lirio went on to complete his Master of Science Degree in Biomedical Sciences from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and his Doctorate in Dental Medicine Degree from Temple University School of Dentistry.
For the last decade, Dr. Lirio has dreamed of making his vision of caring, patient-centered dentistry a reality. Since taking over the practice at SRQ Dentistry, and with the full support and enthusiasm of his entire team, Dr. Lirio is thrilled to be able to implement his vision and take dentistry in Sarasota to the next level of excellence.
Since arriving in Sarasota, Dr. Lirio has become quite active in the Sarasota community. He donates dental services to members of our community in need with Project Christmas Smile and provides support to area programs such as the Sarasota Little League, Homes For Our Troops and The Make A Wish Foundation.
Dr. Lirio volunteers his time as the Team Dentist for the Riverview High School football, basketball and lacrosse teams by providing professional grade customized mouthguards and emergency dental services for their student athletes.Dr Lirio also serves as the referring dentist for the US Soccer U17 team.
Dr. Lirio is a Clinical Instructor at the LECOM School of Dental Medicine and the Manatee Technical College Dental Assisting Program in Bradenton. He also enjoys watching college football, playing golf and spending time with his with his wife Stephanie and their children Jake, Max and Sophie.
Although she was born in Michigan, at the age of 4 her family moved to Florida and she feels she is a true Floridian. She graduated from Southeast High School and trained at Manatee Technical Institute in Bradenton to become a Certified Dental Assistant in the State of Florida. She began her dental career in the orthodontic field, where she learned all of the facets of the dental field in chairside assisting, patient treatment planning, patient scheduling and orthodontic lab procedures. She has more than 18 years in Dental Practice Management.
Some of her accomplishments include: JP Periodontal Institute, Dr. Dick Barnes Practice Development, Schuster Management Program, D.O.C. Oral Sedation, Align/Invisilign, Lumineers, Dentrix advanced training, H&R Block Tax Course and the Amscot Tax Course. She is currently a Notary in the State of Florida.
In our practice, Mary Ann is responsible for coordinating the financial prospects of our patients treatment plans and tracking patients accounts. Behind the scenes, she assures the practice runs efficiently and effectively, while keeping patient care as her top priority.
