Dr. Joey grew up in Richardson but moved to the Hill Country where he attended Marble Falls High School. He did his undergraduate studies at Texas A&M University in College Station before entering dental school at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas.
He opened his first practice in the Austin area in 1996. Later, he relocated to Frisco and in 2004 opened Frisco Square Dental. When he is not in the office, Dr. Joey enjoys hanging out with his wife, Terri, and their five children between them, coaching youth soccer and working out.
Jill has been with us since 2007. She attended Collin College where she played softball and earned her Associates of Science degree. She then transferred to Midwestern State University where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in 2004. She is married to her high school sweetheart and has three children. She enjoys spending time outdoors and watching her childrens activities.
Kristi has been with Frisco Square Dental since June 2010. She graduated from Tyler Junior College in 2002 with an Associates of Science in Dental Hygiene. Originally from East Texas, she has lived in McKinney for the last 8 years. Kristi has two teenagers and enjoys card making, scrapbooking, and collecting Mickey Mouse memorabilia.

I have been seeing Dr. McElhaney since he opened this practice. I have had no scheduling or front office issues. I get 2 cleanings a year and just make my next appointment when I finish. They are almost always on time and very friendly. I like Dr. McElhaney's approach to treating issues early and staying ahead of big problems. I have not had any serious tooth issues and hope I don't ever have to deal with that. But if I do, it will be with Dr. McElhaney.

I went here to get my cavities filled, and after numbing me the dentist left me for an hour without anyone to check on me. Because of the numbing, I ended up sitting for an hour drooling on myself without a cup or a napkin. It was extremely neglectful and I was absolutely humiliated. Never returning again.

I was in the office for my teeth cleaning and found the staff and dr absolutely fantastic. They made me feel welcome and I will be returning for all my dental work.

Fantastic dental office. I typically don't like going to the dentist, now I don't mind it. I've have 2 crowns here and multiple cleaning. The entire office staff are a delight, first then when you walk in you feel welcome. The vibe of this office makes you feel much more comfortable. I especially like how well the dentist and his assistant were able to distract me during the crown procedures to a point were they were done in no time. Definitely recommend!!!

Another great visit with Dr. McElhaney at Frisco Square Dental. I've been going to Dr. J's for almost 5 years now. I cannot recommend him high enough. Always does a great job on my teeth and my family (3 kids and wife). I've never had any problems since I started going there. I've gotten to know Dr. J over the years at his office. I will tell you one other thing I love about him. He and his wife give back to the community in so many ways. They're very active. It's good to hear when a professional gives back to the community that supports them!

A great visit at Frisco Square DentaI. I have been a patient here for 3 years and I always receive top notch service. Doc is adamant about getting it right. Staff and Technicians are friendly great to work with. The location is super convenient as well. Very happy.

Their website indicates "Medicare Dental Patents". When I contacted them in regards to it, they advised that they don't take Medicare Dental Patients. The lady on the phone was rude and laughed.

I've been coming here for about a year now and every visit has been incredibly positive. The hygienists do a wonderful job keeping you comfortable and engaged, and Dr. McElhaney is clearly knowledgeable and will take the time to explain what you need and when you need it. I would highly recommend this office to anyone in the Frisco area.

The receptionist (Brandi) is the most rude person i have ever come across in any business. Keeping her on will be a nightmare for the practice. Today when asked why she wasnt calling back on a question i had (regarding a procedure) for the past 2 weeks, she diverted the question and said she will check with someone who is on maternity leave. She also, without any hestitation asked me to change the dentist if I am not happy. The doctor is good, but this front office person needs to GO! NOW!
