Dr. Elizabeth Rutledge was born and raised in Port Huron, Michigan where she was active in 4-H, Girl Scouts and concert and marching band. After graduating from high school in 2002, Dr. Rutledge attended Michigan State University where she studied chemistry and worked for the Master Gardener Volunteer Program. In 2006, she graduated from MSU with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry. She then studied dentistry at the University of Detroit Mercy and graduated in May 2010.
Dr. Rutledge began her career as a dentist with Dr. Edward Lamoreaux at Springcrest Dental Associates in July 2010. During her time as an associate dentist with Springcrest Dental, Dr. Rutledge knew that it was the perfect practice for her. In January 2014, she purchased Springcrest Dental Associates from Dr. Lamoreaux and has since made it her goal to provide the very best care for each and every one of her patients, with a team that is both caring and motivated. She feels lucky to be able to call Jackson home and to be given the opportunity to help patients achieve their best possible smiles and health every day.
Dr. Rutledge enjoys spending time with her husband, Mike, and their bulldogs, Tuesday and Nugget. She also enjoys being an active member of the Jackson Junior Welfare League, the Jackson District Dental Society, the Michigan Dental Association, and the American Dental Association. In her free time, Dr. Rutledge enjoys golfing, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.
Salyna is a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) and has been working at Springcrest Dental since July 2015. She has earned two Associates Degrees from Lansing Community College one in general studies (spring 2014) and one in dental hygiene (spring 2015). Salyna continued her studies through Siena Heights University and earned a Bachelors Degree in Health Studies with a minor in Healthcare Management.
Salyna chose this career path because she wanted to make a difference in the lives of others. She enjoys teaching her patients about their oral health so that they can make educated efforts to be the healthiest they can besomething that hits very close to home for Salyna. The oral cancer screenings and the head and neck exams given by our team can save lives. This is something that saved the life of my husband. Thyroid cancer had spread to his lymph nodes and down his neck. Luckily, the lump was found early enough, and after two surgeries and radiation, he is now in remission. I look forward to meeting new patients and to building on the relationships that are already formed with our current patients. We are a family here, and we do everything possible to make you feel as though you are a part of that family.
Salyna and her husband have four children and a dog. All of their children are, or were, actively involved in sports and band. Her son, who has graduated, was a wrestler and football player in high school and her daughter is in band, volleyball, and basketball. Her stepdaughter is in band and swimming and is attending college classes in culinary arts while completing high school and her stepson is in band and basketball and enjoys fishing. Hank, the family dog, is a black Lab and is very much a part of the family. He loves swimming in the lake, playing fetch, and chasing birds. Salyna and her family all enjoy spending time at their family cottage and sitting around the campfire.
