Gum disease is one of the leading causes of tooth loss. Gum disease has two primary stages. If diagnosed and treated in the first stage, the condition can be reversed and tooth loss can usually be prevented. In order to prevent gum disease,practice good oral hygiene and visit your dentist for cleanings and check-ups twice a year.
This stage only affects the soft tissue of the gums, and the patient may not experience any discomfort. Although the symptoms may be very mild, it is important to diagnose gum disease in this early stage before it progresses to periodontitis.
Periodontitis is the name for more advanced periodontal disease and if permitted to progress to this point, not only the gums are affected but the bone structures supporting the teeth will be compromised.
A build-up of bacteria causes Gingivitis. In its early stages, inflammation around the gums is observable, with gum tissues appearing red and swollen. Gums that are easily irritated or that bleed during tooth brushing indicate the presence of Gingivitis. Removal of the plaque buildup is necessary to prevent the development of gum disease.
As the gums become more inflamed, they start to pull away from the teeth, forming spaces known as periodontal pockets. Food, bacteria, and plaque begin to collect in the pockets, leading to infection. The surrounding bone becomes damaged both by bacterial toxins and by the immune systemsresponse to infection.

I love Spring Hill smiles!! I always see Shelby, & she's the best. She always makes sure that all my questions are answered and that's I'm comfortable. She always goes above and beyond to make sure my experience at the dentist is a good one. The entire staff is super kind & helpful. It's made going to the dentist an experience I don't dread every six months. 10/10!

I can't say enough about the quality and professional service I receive every time I visit Spring Hill Smiles. Dr. Jordan, Lauren, Kari have all taken great care of my needs. And the fact that they are always upbeat, pleasant and supportive of my dental needs. To say it's a pleasure to go to the dentist office is a bit of a stretch, but, they all make the visit a positive experience.

Where do I even start? About 2 years ago, I got my braces...I've been treated so great since day 1! Dr. Terran has been awesome!! She's so amazing at her job and cares so much about her patients. Jessie has been my dental hygienist since day 1. Literally the best ever. She's so caring and not good, but amazing at her job!!! Love her so much! Eveytime I come in..I get treated so well by everyone. Hailey has been awesome with helping me with payments and everything else! I'm starting a new procedure and Dr. Todd has been amazing! Him and Dr. Terran really care about their patients! I totally recommend this place 10/10!

I have been a patient at SHS for a couple years. Recently I had to get a dental implant and it went extremely well considering I am terrified of dental work. Emily did a great job with my IV (one stick, no digging)! They gave me blanket and was the most comfortable experience. Love this office and it's people!

Spring Hill Smiles is very impressive. From the office to the staff, it was a great experience. I was worried because I hadn't been to the dentist on a couple years but they were very gentle. I'll definitely be going back!

I've had some dental work done a year ago. I understand the fact they were trying to save money. I was having a tooth removed and some other work done. In the process the dentist made a last second call in which should have been consulted with the client before hand never happened. When I asked why, the dentist stated it would have saved me 500$. I'm not worried about 500$. & the teeth that I was going to have replaced the colors their not even able to match up with. This is a poor facility. I still get a bill from Spring Hill smiles & quite frankly they can finish the work without another cent. Or we can take it to court? As I've Paid cash my whole way with Spring Hill Smiles & I will not provide another cent.
