Dentistry is a multifaceted profession that involves communicating with people of many backgrounds. In dentistry, empathy is important when treating patients so that patient-doctor relationships can be strengthened. Dr. Chengs passion is to blend art and medicine in dentistry to address patients oral health.
There is no single approach for every individual; Dr. Cheng have been trained to use different disciplines and perspectives taught in dentistry to help tailor treatment for patients with different dental issues.
Originally from the East coast, his educational background includes a bachelors in Biology from the University of Maryland. He also has a Masters in Biomedical Sciences from Tufts University. After his Masters, he received his dental degree from New York University College of Dentistry and subsequently enrolled in a 1-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program at the Eastman Institute for Oral Health in Rochester, New York. It was the residency program where he refined his skills in extractions, root canals, fillings, crowns, and implants. Recently, he attended an international outreach to Mexico where he was able to give back to the community by providing dental services to the underserved population.
In addition, he recently furthered his implant education and training which included traveling overseas to the Dominican Republic to place implants in patients, thus giving back to the local community in the process.
During his free time, he likes to experience different cuisines, travel to different countries, and visit museums to keep his mind entertained. He is also an NBA fan (Go Houston Rockets)! As a bilingual (English and Chinese), he is always open to learning different languages and cultures. Seeing patients from different backgrounds enriches the interaction as he can learn about others upbringing.
Dr. Tso is a graduate of NYU College of Dentistry and has been practicing dentistry in diverse settings of dental facilities. She completed a GPR (General Practice Residency) program in New York City and international internship training in her home country, Taiwan. Once she returned to the States, she practices in both private practices and dental service organization.
Each dental facility Dr. Tso worked at serves different groups of populations and along the way, she was lucky to meet some good mentors. This allows Dr. Tso to expand her dental knowledge and ability to do more advanced dental procedures such as molar endo, impacted third molars, dental implants and Invisalign.
Continuing education plays a big part in her dental career. Dr. Tso is an active member in local study groups and participated in hands-on implant training internationally. Dr. Tso believes strongly in continuing education to excel her quality of dental work and will continue to do so throughout her dental career. Dr. Tso got her inspiration of being a dentist from her older brother, who is a Prosthodontist graduated from Harvard School of Dental Medicine. His high standard of ethics and fine work skill are what Dr. Tso respects and aims to follow. She loves establishing long-term relationships with her patients and share life stories with them. Recently, Dr. Tso has become a new mom and cant wait to meet other Moms and Dads out there and share each others wisdom.

Seen me at the very last minute of the day. The entire staff that was there Saturday, went above and beyond supporting me thru my procedure. I can't thank you all enough for the tremendous amount of compassion. Thank you so much Spring Green Family Dental of Katy. I will be scheduling my follow up procedure on Monday.

I hadn't been to the dentist in nearly 10 years with bad experiences previously, but coming here was so nice . The interior is very welcoming and everyone who works there was very informative and patient . I was never rushed into making any decisions and was given several options to choose from along with pricing . Everyone was very honest and I was being " sold " in house products that are always expensive but again was given cheaper options and where to buy them and they do the same thing with the same efficiency it just may take a little longer to see results . Overall definitely happy I found these guys my entire time spent here was great and everyone seemed genuinely happy with their jobs and with their coworkers .

From the receptionist to the Dentist, everyone in this facility is very friendly and knowledgeable! They are up front about pricing and try to make your visit enjoyable by showing your choice of show or movie!

I was extremely pleased with my experience at Spring Green Family Dental! From the wonderful ladies at the front desk to the communicative and friendly staff who performed my exam and cleaning, my expectations were surpassed every at every step. I made a same day appointment with Spring Green Dental. Both Dr Cheng and Dr Tso were very kind and professional. All of the staff were very good at their jobs. I was most impressed with Dr Tso. She gave me the options and treatment plans. She was so gentle and highly skilled. I had no pain during treatment and was assured that if I did, she would give medicine for it. Her manor greatly reduced my anxiety. Excellent patient care! 5 stars!

I received excellent care! They were sensitive to my concerns, and thorough in the work that had to be done. I didn't feel any discomfort, and now I totally trust them- which is saying a lot from someone who tries to avoid going to the dentist!! I highly recommend Spring Green Family Dental of Katy!!

Great experience all around. From the initial phone call to the office visit. ALL members of the clinic were very pleasant, patient and understanding. They made me feel very much at ease. Update 8/22/2022 If I could add more stars I certainly would. I had an emergency on Saturday and I was able to be seen the same day! They took extremely good care of me from the time I walked into the office. I cannot thank the whole team enough. Thank you again, words cannot express my gratitude.

I can't say enough good things about this dental practice. From my very first visit I explained I had a phobia of the dentist, but they have made me feel like family every time I walk in the door. The care is phenomenal, from front desk to assistants to dentist, EVERYONE is nice and welcoming. I've never felt like I was being upsold and I never feel uncomfortable asking "is this covered by my insurance?" I'm so grateful to have found this practice!

I was visiting from Austin when my wisdom tooth came in with excruciating pain. Spring Green Family Dental was able to see me same day (on a Saturday too) and did the entire extraction super quick and efficiently. Dr. David Chang did an amazing job, he was very thorough and told me everything he was doing as he did it. Dr. Vivian Tso was also there to help keep me calm. They are an amazing team and the whole staff was super kind and friendly. I am debating on driving to Katy for every dental visit now!

Contacted them Friday evening for Sat. morning appt as my daughter need her loose tooth to be pulled so she can eat without pain. They responded right away and got my daught in at 9am next day. Nice staff. Great service. Highly recommended.

I went in for a new patient checkup and cleaning as I recently relocated to Katy. I was surprised by how thorough the process was. Dr Cheng was very professional and explained things very well (in English & Mandarin). His assistants and staff were all friendly and accommodating. I was happy with my first visit there and would go back.
