Dr. Thatte has had some of the best dental training available. Dr. Thatte attended the Bapuji Dental College and Hospital in Davangere, Karnataka, India. She graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree in 2007. She was in the top 1% of her class and received several awards and scholarships from the Indian Dental Association. She even secured a gold medal from Shri Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in Bangalore.
After finishing her undergraduate degree. Dr. Thatte moved to the United States in 2008. Here, she continued advanced dental training. She received a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from Rutgers School of Dental Medicine in New Jersey, graduating with honors. She was recognized on the Deans list for academic excellence in 2012.
During her studies at Rutgers, she received 300 hours of continuing education in dental implants from the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. She has also completed a year of advanced training and certification in relation to implant placement and restoration from Smiletube.tv. She is affiliated with the ADA, CDA, SDCDS, and Academy of General Dentistry.
After her graduation, Dr. Thatte started working as an associate dentist in Hartford, CT for a year before moving to Southern California where she gained several years of experience in restorative, cosmetic, and implant dentistry. After serving patients for almost a decade as an associate dentist, Dr. Thatte established her own practice in Mira Mesa, San Diego in 2021.
Dr. Thatte has completed Comprehensive Esthetic and Mentorship Course from Esthetic Professionals in Los Angeles in 2021. She also took a live surgical implant course in 2022 to gain additional surgical skills in implant dentistry from AIE (Advance Implant Education Institute) and is working towards gaining a fellowship from AGD.
Dr. Thatte lives in the neighborhood with her family and three beautiful children. In her free time, Dr. Thatte spends time with her loved ones, works out to keep fit, and cooks a variety of food items. She enjoys traveling and tasting different cuisines.

Dr. Thatte is one of the best dentists I know! She is very patient, kind, gentle and listens to my needs! Dr. Thatte makes sure I am satisfied with the services she provides. I am a flight attendant and my schedule is so sporadic, but she always manages to fit me in, even when she is swamped with patients! I highly recommend Dr. Thatte!

The doctor pulled my wisdom tooth out and I am very happy with her work. I was so happy to see all of the care and caution she showed throughout the whole procedure. She was checking in with me throughout the whole procedure and made sure I was doing ok. Definitely would recommend her

Excellent care, professional and up to date dentistry delivered by a knowledgeable staff and an experienced dentist, Dr Thatte. Who has been trained in the latest implants and prosthetic replacements. The office is clean and well equipped to handle everything from emergencies to full mouth restoration. This dentist office did a wonderful job diagnosing my dental issues, but not such a good job listening to how I wanted to approach all the work that needed to be done. I ended up going to a different dentist who was better at coming up with a plan that meant my wants and needs, and who is closer to where I reside.

Dr. Shalini is extremely informative and patient! She made me feel like a valued patient rather than just trying to rush me out of the office and move on with the next one. She explained the situation with my teeth better than any dentist I've had, and she gave me all the options and recommendations in regards to straightening some gaps in my teeth. I would highly recommend her for dental work!
