Our practice has served the greater Calhoun County area for over 35 years. Dr. James Johnson constructed our office in the early 1970s, and practiced full time here until 2002. Dr. Johnson still remains active in our practice and sees patients at least once a week in our office. Through such continuity, we have been able to consistently serve our wonderful and loyal patients.
Dr. Kellen Spivey came to the practice in July 2009. In the two years that he has practiced dentistry here, he has realized that the strength of this practice is the loyalty of our patients. We are so appreciative to have patients who entrust us with their oral health. We are committed to performing the absolute best treatment for our patients.
We hope to continue to build upon our history by growing our dental family to include more wonderful patients. Thank you for reading about the history of a practice that has served to improve the lives of so many of our friends and neighbors.
Dr. Kellen Spivey was born and raised in Rome, GA and is a graduate of Emory University. He received his dental degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry in 2009. Following graduation, Dr. Spivey looked for a location in which he could become a part of the community, and build relationships with the families he serves. In July 2009, Dr. Spivey began working here in Anniston, AL at Family Dentistry. He is a member of the Alabama Dental Association as well as the American Dental Association. Dr. Spivey is an active volunteer at Interfaith ministries, a program which offers free dental treatment to adults in Anniston, AL. Dr. Spivey attends Jacksonville Church of Christ and enjoys helping with the youth group activities. He also enjoys playing basketball, fishing, and spending time with his wife, Chrysta, family and friends. Dr. Spivey believes that each patient deserves his utmost care and concern, and strives to establish a relationship with each of his patients.
Dr. James Johnson is a native of Tuscaloosa, AL. He attended the University of Alabama and then the University of Alabama School of Dentistry in Birmingham, where he received his dental degree in 1968. Following graduation, Dr. Johnson served as a dentist in the military and received additional training in general dentistry. Dr. Johnson moved to Anniston and began building his dental practice in the 1970s. Over the decades, Dr. Johnson developed and shaped this practice into what it is presently. Today, Dr. Johnson still continues to work in the practice, though he is partly retired. He enjoys gardening, traveling and working on projects around his house.

I have had to have 2 different teeth extracted due to pain. These guys have been able to get me seen and have them pulled the same day by keeping me in the loop on cancellations. They are kind, sociable and extremely professional. I will never even look in another dentist's direction. 10/10 HIGHLY recommend.

Dr. Spivey takes the time to explain and educate you on why you need things taking care of. If he doesn't feel like the procedure is necessary he will inform you of that and not just do it. The staff is second to none they make you feel ok welcomed from the time you walk into the office. They are always on top of costs so that you know exactly what you are looking at in case insurance doesn't cover it.
