Dr. Sperry enjoys working with patients of all ages and making them feel at home. She takes time to listen to each patients personal concerns and plan treatment that is right for them. Dr. Sperry has a reputation for being gentle, soft-spoken and friendly. She is originally from Minnesota. Now, she lives in South Burlington with her husband Tyler and daughter Emma. In her spare time she enjoys downhill and cross-country skiing, sailing and reading.
Dr. Sperry is a Vermont licensed General Dentist. She is a member of the ADA, Vermont State Dental Society and Champlain Valley Dental Society. She is a graduate of St. Olaf College and the University of Minnesota Dental School. The University of Minnesota is a top-ranked dental school with an international reputation for its program. She has been practicing in Vermont since 2000. In 2007, she started working in her new state of the art office. This setting allows her to provide the finest quality dental care in a very comfortable environment for her patients.

Absolute life saver! Helped me out in a pinch and made an action plan for me that made sense. Quality work and realistic expectations. (october 2022 update) Dr. Sperry is a consummate professional who believes in her work and takes the time to educate you on what she is doing while she completes very obviously highly-skilled dental procedures. after countless appointments i can say i both have a better understanding of my dental health and also have had the good fortune to have quality dental work with a true professional that improved my quality of life. thank you, Dr. Sperry!

Dr. Sperry was our Dentist for the 3 1/2 years we lived in VT. In the 4 years since...we've lived in 4 different places and NOBODY comes close to being as good a Dentist as Dr. Sperry is. The Dental Hygienist was also fantastic. We truly miss the professionalism...but Tucson to Burlington is too far to travel for Dental health...lol

I was a patient here 5 years ago and recently moved back to the area and was delighted to be able to return. Dr. Sperry is kind and professional, Bobbi the hygienist is very non-shaming, explains everything in a very grounded and friendly way, and gives the most gentle and thorough cleanings I have ever had. Lani the office manager has consistently been warm and patient with the annoying insurance complications I had to deal with. I experience this office as LGBTQ+ affirming as I once mentioned my queer relationship and they even remembered my partner's name and asked about her once I returned, which I really appreciate!

I went here about a year ago to get some cavities filled, and just found out by the dentist I went to today that she did not do my fillings properly. She left one of my teeth open, and did not do the filling. This has caused 3 of my molars to start decaying, I found out. I now have to go get this fixed after not being able to chew on my left side for about 4 months. I do not recommend this office. She was also very awkward and barely talked to me at all when I was there.

Dr. Sperry's office and staff are all amazing. I've had cavities drilled, x-rays and cleanings and they've all been great. I honestly don't get all the trash people are talking about Dr. Sperry's "shaky hands" in the reviews here, it just looks like bullying. She's given me novocaine and drilled cavities plenty of times with less pain than anywhere else I've gone. She's very attentive and hires staff who love their job and do great work like her. I've had cleanings done by Bobbi and Sarah and they're both amazing. The last few were with Bobbi and she's always so patient and gentle. I always ask her about how to take better care of my teeth and she always has super awesome info for me.

Honestly, I would give Karen Sperry zero stars if I could. I, along with many others in my family, had to have every filling Dr. Sperry did redone at a different dentist office. I was surprised at how painless getting work done at a different practitioner was because every appointment with Dr. Sperry felt like it violated the Geneva Conventions. I remember how she would accidentally drill too deep in my teeth with shaky hands, which ended up causing me a lot of pain at a young age. I would highly recommend finding another - any other - dentistry practitioner besides Dr. Sperry if you do not want to have the work redone in the future.

If you're looking to have any dental work done, look elsewhere. At one point, I had to have two cavities filled, but they needed to be redone at a different dentist's office because of air bubbles in the fillings. On an x-ray, the defective fillings had looked like cavities that hadn't been completely removed. The people that work in this office are nice people, but the dentistry is sloppy. The process of remedying inadequate care is expensive and time-consuming. I wouldn't recommend this office to anyone, and I would give it zero stars if I could.

BEWARE: If could give 0 stars I would. If you are looking for a new dentist look elsewhere. After four failed cavity fills and almost drowning me as I choked on water, when I was forced to hold the suction tool myself, I was told I needed a crown. Mind you Karen left me with a giant hole in my tooth until they had a crown appointment available. Sadly that appointment needed to be canceled because I caught a cold and due to COVID's safety restrictions wasn't allowed in the building. The appointment was rescheduled, and unfortunately due to snow my husband's schedule changed, making us without anyone to watch our toddler. I was told if I couldn't make the appointment they wouldn't reschedule it. Leaving me with pain, tooth sensitivity and the ability to only chew on one side of my mouth in a pandemic with limited resources. The customer service was deplorable, my husband had been a patient there for almost 10 years. Needless to say Karen cares way more about her bottom line than her patient's well-being and physical health. My husband and I won't be back there and I suggest you keep scrolling and find another provider, this one borderlines on malpractice.
