Helping our children is the important part of what Spencer Dental does for families. Were making sure that all children have access to dental care services. Spencer Dental is committed to reducing the need for future extensive dental work & keeping kids healthy through preventative dental care & a range of community & educational programs.

The number of children not visiting the dentist or going to hospital ERs in Virginia tells us too many kids lack the primary dental care they need to prevent serious dental issues. Because these health issues can impact childrens ability to perform their best in school & live a successful life. Were finding ways to help kids get the dental care they need by accepting Medicaid & Commercial Insurance, Resolution Dental Discount Plan for families without insurance, school-based dental care visits & more.

Through our Kool Smiles Kids Club, kids (no matter their age) have the opportunity to earn rewards, grow & reach their unlimited potential. With an emphasis on creativity & values, Kool Smiles Kids Club helps give kids a sense of self, making a powerful contribution to their oral care health. Parents & families tell us their kids club experience helped diminish fear & instill confidence in their children.

Safely straighten your teeth discreetly, without letting anyone else know. We offer faster treatment times & can subtly straighten your smile & no one will know. Reveal Clear aligners are also removeable so, there are no restrictions on foods you can eat. Just remove them & eat or drink anything you want.

Probably yes. Clear aligners are appropriate for many teens and adults looking to straighten their teeth. To see if clear aligners are right for you, please schedule a FREE smile assessment with your dentist. Your dentist will provide you with a comprehensive oral exam to confirm candidacy for clear aligners.

If youre looking to straighten your teeth but want a more aesthetic solution, consider clear aligners. Clear aligners are a series of trays that move your teeth slowly to bring them into alignment. Treatment can include up to 30 trays, and each tray is worn for two weeks.

Although I saw the bad reviews for this office I ignored them to at least try it out so I could give a good review, front desk women were very nice and seemed professional when I took my 2 toddlers (1&2) for their 1st teeth cleaning, they brushed their teeth and gave them fluoride, Then about a week later my husband went in and got his teeth checked out and had a decent experience.. BUT when it was time to get work done for his teeth they scheduled it for the wrong place and my husband drove 30min for no reason to another location to be told he didn't have an appointment there, even though he has a card from this office that says the time, date, and place on it so we know for a fact we didn't go to the wrong place, he even attempted to call this office because they sent him to the wrong place and they wouldn't answer, now we have to find a new dental office once again because of all the bad reviews and his experience we definitely don't want to risk another bad experience especially with it only being our very first time there.

I'm 100% sure services are being charged for but not performed. My daughter supposedly needed fillings and I paid for gas, when she came out she said they didn't do anything. I also received a bill for my son months after his appointment with services he supposedly received.

The absolute worst. I scheduled an appointment online just to be told there aren't any ortho appointments on the day I scheduled. The online scheduling system is flawed and does not communicate with the office scheduling system. The staff was unprofessional. Additionally, the office assistant's cleavage was exposed. I hope I never have to return. Places that offer affordable dental care have a bad reputation and it's mostly attributed to indifferent and unprofessional staff. Shame on you.

Staff never picks up the phones, so if you are looking to make an appointment your best bet is to go in and make the appointment inside the office. Don't try to leave a message, cause they don't return those either. I tried calling 25 times and still no answer. I left a couple of messages and still no one called me back. My daughter had an appointment and the office canceled cause the dentist was sick. A piece came off my daughter's braces so we did an emergency visit. They wouldn't fix it cause it wasn't hurting her at the time. They told us to keep our regular appointment which was on a Thursday at 4pm, and they would fix it then and do all the other stuff that was needed. At some point they changed her appointment time without my knowledge and on the day of I got an automated text saying they would see me in 12pm. I tried calling to see if it was a mistake by the automated system or did they need me to come early, but no one answered. I called over 25 times and left 2 messages and no one responded back. I called today and no one answered yet again and finally after 7 attempts I was connected to someone and was told the next available appointment was September 30th or something for her to get seen, a who month and a half away. Worst dental office ever.

This place never answer the phone I don't understand why I can't ever get ahold of someone. I have left numerous messages for weeks and when I actually have time to show up in person to ask my questions and get my forms filled out this place is closed when it clearly says online it's open. I've called other locations to see if they can fill out my paperwork and they can't do anything because she was seen at this location.

Took my daughter to the Portsmouth office for a consultation and was told she had 3 cavities. Came back for a cleaning shortly after and was told she now needed a crown. (I was a cash paying customer- no dental insurance). Had a second opinion done at a reputable and well loved ped dentist in the area... (now with dental insurance) NOT ONE CAVITY. I may be wrong, but in my experience, cavities don't just disappear! The only reason I can come up with that Spencer Dental would say my daughter had 3 cavities that needed to be filled and a crown... would be that they wanted $$$$, as I was a cash paying customer. I can't even imagine my daughter unnecessarily sitting in that chair going through God knows what, just for them to line their pockets with my money. Completely disgusted.

DO NOT COME HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!! This place is horrible. My son has been in the back now for almost 2 hours for a filling. They called others ahead of us when we were waiting to be called back there. My 16 year old daughter had appt. For the same day and they told us they couldn't do the work here because the dentist quit. They didn't call and tell us anything. Also we have driven here 2 times and one time the dentist side was just closed they told us it was closed and they emailed me but NO!!! Now my son just came out very dizzy and all they said was do you wanna schedule another appointment or what? They were laughing.. This place should be shut down

Cancels appointments with little to no notice. Refuses to offer appointments to older children after 12pm. Hangs up on you when trying to set an appointment. Highly unprofessional and a big disappointment.

The most incompetent dentist's office I have ever been to. I had an appointment on March 9th for an exam because I chipped my tooth and needed a repair. At the appointment, I was told that I needed a filling and I scheduled my filling appointment with them on March 25th. I go to the office on March 25th and I am told that my appointment was canceled without my knowledge or consultation. One of the office workers then rescheduled my appointment (again, without telling me that it was rescheduled or when it was rescheduled to, or even asking what day and time work for me). I only found that out because I called later and asked to reschedule, and was told that it was already rescheduled. My filling appointment was moved to March 31st. I called on March 30th (today) to make sure that my appointment had not been canceled again, and the office workers apparently have no idea what appointment I'm talking about. And then they tell me that I need a cleaning BEFORE the filling, something they completely failed to tell me at any point during my initial exam. On top of that, they told me there isn't even a dentist who works on adults on the 31st. So why on earth would my appointment have been moved to the 31st in the first place? And how was I even able to schedule a filling at all if I needed a cleaning beforehand? All the while, every worker has an "I don't know and I don't care" attitude. Clearly there is 0 communication or coordination between the staff here. No one seems to have a clue what's going on at any moment. I wasted so much time and money for this evidently non-existent appointment, all for nothing. This was a miserable experience.
