I was born and raised right here in Indianapolis and knew from an early age that my career would involve working with children. In fact, I was certain by the time I was a junior in high school that I would be a pediatric dentist. The thought of helping children receive dental care and making it fun intrigued me. For more than 25 years, I have done just that! I have tried to make dentistry fun and less intimidating for both children and parents.

Heres a little background about my career path: After graduating from North Central High School here in Indianapolis, I majored in psychology at Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia. I graduated from Indiana University Dental School (I modeled while in dental school) and began my residency at Case Western Reserve University/Rainbow Babies and Childrens Hospital of Cleveland. I opted to make all my kiddie dentures, space maintainers, obturators, and other appliances instead of sending them to a commercial lab. This is what helped make the decision in choosing me to be the Chief Resident during my second year of residency. I became very involved in making obturators/ feeding plates for cleft babies while in my training program. Naturally, I became increasingly interested in treatment planning for patients with special needs including babies born with cleft lip and cleft palates. My journey also includes extensive work with children with disabilities. After my residency, I served as the Cerebral Palsy Faculty at James Whitcomb Riley Childrens Hospital.

My interest in this area continues as I divide my time between serving patients here in my office and being a part of the Craniofacial Team at Peyton Manning Childrens Hospital. I have hospital privileges at St. Vincent Hospital as well as Indiana University Health Hospitals. In addition to serving my patients, I enjoy mentoring young people interested in this amazing profession. I love when students or patients shadow me, and I have the opportunity to show them all that we do just as someone did for me when I was interested in dentistry. I am happy to say some of my former patients are enrolled in dental school with several now in residencies in pediatric dentistry! When I am not in the office, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Max, and our three children. You can find me in the stands at every football and volleyball game cheering for our children. I am also passionate about participating in Bible Study Fellowship, gardening in my yard and making jam. My husband and I also own Rev Racing through which we run the Drive for Diversity Program for NASCAR.

At Riverside Pediatric Dentistry, we believe communication is of the utmost importance. Our staff will never recommend any level of treatment that we would not accept for our own children. We strive each day to treat your children as if they were our own. We value honesty and integrity in all that we do and treat every child and parent with unconditional kindness and respect.

Dr. Siegel and her whole team are just fantastic. I love her approach, her office runs seamlessly. Just a fantastic experience, I have a 6 year old and 1 year old and we always rave about how great the experience is for both of them.

I was very nervous as my 6yr old has Autism, and it has always been difficult getting any kind of dental work done. It was our first visit and they were able to do so much more than has been done in the past.

The visit will begin with a tour of our lobby where your child will get acquainted with our video games and television. The tour also includes a stop in our parent waiting area, equipped with coffee, sofa and Wi-Fi access. Collecting updated X-rays, medical history and current oral habits are also included in this visit.

Special time will be allowed to familiarize you and your child with our exam area. Once a comfort level is established, your child will have a dental exam followed by a unique welcome by Dr. Siegel! There will also be a photo celebrating your childs success at the dentist.

This dentist is extremely short-tempered and presents an erratic attitude. Some days she is pleasant and other days she seems totally different and unfocused. Her skill set and personality are the absolute polar opposite of what is suitable for a pediatric dental professional. There are many other reliable options in the area. Avoid.

So I waited to post this because I'm still in disbelief of what happened here. I was looking for a new dentist office for my daughter and when I seen this dentist office online I was so happy, but when I called to set up an appointment no one would answer my call(red flag) so I kept pushing it and decided to go up there to make an appointment for my daughter. When I got there I had let the lady know that I had been calling but decided to make a trip up there since I was looking for a new dentist for my daughter. That same week I was able to get her an appointment. So the day of her appointment we went to the back for her, the dentist assistant asked me questions about sweets and I let her know that I didn't let my daughter eat sweets like that and that we brush her teeth twice a day. After that she took X-rays and said that the doctor will be here shortly. So Doctor Jennifer Siegel came in seemed really nice and she looked at my daughter's teeth and started giving me a speech about candy, juice and chocolate milk(she definitely rubbed me the wrong way). And I told her my daughter doesn't drink or eat a lot of the stuff she named and that she has never had a cavity before. Next thing I know she is telling me my daughter has two cavities in the back . At the time my daughter was 8 and she said the cavities weren't deep enough so she wouldn't need shots and she would just put the fillings on top. That same week the lady in the front office had booked an appointment for my daughter to come back to get the "cavities filled", but in the back of my mind I knew something wasn't right....so I decided to get a second opinion I went to another dentist office and told them what Doctor Siegel had said that my daughter have "two cavities". The dentist assistant looked at my daughter's teeth looking confused and said well let me go get the doctor so she can have a better look and when the doctor came to look she also had a confused look on her face. The new dentist asked what dentist office did we go to and the name of the doctor . At the end she confirmed my daughter didn't have any cavities and she couldn't believe that Dr. Siegel was going to put my daughter through so much pain for her not to have any cavities. Please do your research and get a second opinion!

This is the most awesome place to bring your kids. We live on the complete opposite of town and I would not dream of taking my boys anywhere else.

I'm so impressed by Dr. Siegel, her staff, and their office. The kid-friendly environment is super fun, but as a parent, what I loved most was the compassion and empathy shown to my daughter by every staff member we encountered. Everything was discussed openly, in an upbeat, fun manner that was age appropriate and incredibly informative. I highly recommend!

My daughter happily serves as the informal president of the Dr. Jennifer Satterfield-Siegel & Special Smiles Dentistry fan club. As her mom, I embrace her role as such ... & appointed myself vice president! It is a privilege to recommend Dr. Siegel to other parents equally selective regarding healthcare decisions for their own kids. Dr. Siegel & her staff have faithfully served our family for years, not only with professional/top notch dental care but with authentic love & compassion. The entire office exhibits a welcoming, upbeat spirit toward families. We find everyone to be most personable & attentive. Vibrant characters & colors from an animated sea make for an inviting waiting area from floor to ceiling, & we value such attention to detail. Actually, thoughtful service accents highlight the whole appointment experience - it's that textbook 'holistic approach' to care every patient desires. My child has special needs & Dr. Siegel treats her w the utmost dignity, displaying tender love & patience in attending to her extra issues. When our daughter knocked out both front teeth last year, Dr. Siegel managed the crisis in a completely calm/controlled professional manner. Naturally, her demeanor settled both my daughter's spirit as well as mine amidst a traumatic situation. Weeks of (smooth) follow-up culminated in a successful outcome & restored bright smile :) I'm confident my child's positive rapport w/ Dr. Siegel in her early life will enhance the likelihood of her caring for her own teeth well into adulthood. Should you choose Dr. Siegel for your own family's pediatric dentistry needs, I am confident you'll rank it in the 'Best Decisions Ever!' category of your life.

Just an amazing experience! Everyone is a team player, polite, friendly, and professional. The office layout was breathtaking and super clean. This was our 1st visit and we have recommended Special Smiles Dentistry to quite a few already. Dr. Satterfield-Siegel is passionate about kiddos having a healthy smile and it shows through her work. This place definitely has the WOW factor.

Incredible office facility! Dr. Siegel and her staff are a dream to work with. The way they intentionally interact with and care for children is so refreshing to witness, in the dental world. If you have children, no matter their age, Special Smiles' practice takes the fear and uncertainty out of the picture, when it's time for a dental visit.
