Special Care Dentistry specializes in providing dental care for individuals with special needs and disabilities. These patient populations are unique and diverse! Our doctors have a combined 25 years of experience in providing care for patients with disabilities. They received formal training in residency on providing dental care and anesthesia for patients with special needs. They have extensive experience in caring for special need individuals with conditions such as Intellectual disability, Developmental Delay, Dementia, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Alzheimer, ADD and Down Syndrome to name a few. The special needs patient can be challenging to treat in a general dental office environment. At Special Care Dentistry we treat these patients depending on their physical (wheelchair bound, contractures, uncontrolled movements, etc.) and mental ability to cope with entering the dental office to receive dental care. Our facility is equipped with a state-of-the-art wheelchair lift for non-ambulatory patients making the experience easier and comfortable.
We offer a spectrum of sedation services at our office as some special needs patients require sedation during their dental procedures. The indications for sedation are also just as varied! How they are pre-medicated (to get into the dental chair and have an IV started), induced (put to sleep), maintained (stay asleep) and emerge (wake up) is tailored to their needs and dental treatment requirements. At Special Care Dentistry, our dentists and friendly staff serve patients throughout the Metroplex, and are here to help you or your loved ones receive the most optimal dental care.
Special Care Dentistry is a completely digital (paperless) office . We provide our patients and caregivers the convenience of a secure HIPAA compliant online portal through our website which enables them to complete all their necessary forms with a few simple clicks.

My wife and I Had to bring our 26 year old Deaf and Autistic Daughter in to get her teeth clean and plaque removed. The staff here are great and deal with their patients very well and carefully. The Dentists are helpful and informative and take their time to give their patients the care and treatment they need. We will continue to come to this Dentist. If you have a Child or Adult with disabilities and they need dental work this is the place to come.

Thank you God that there exist a service for adults with special needs. My son receives the best and kindness service ever. I read a review recently that stated "I wish I could give them 10 stars"!". I totally agree!!!!!!

I wish that I was independently wealthy so that my special needs daughter could be taken care of at this facility. They don't take Medicaid and all anesthesia is paid for out of pocket. I don't see how this is helpful to the special-needs community because most of us parents are spending so much money on taking care of our special needs children and adults that we don't have the money to pay these prices. The staff however has been very friendly and trying to help me find someplace where I can get the care for my daughter. I still don't understand why they don't take Medicaid I'm sorry I don't.

My son has Down syndrome & Autism. He doesn't understand why people are poking him in his mouth and cannot be still. Despite the wiggling, the excellent staff at Special Care Dentistry was able to get X-Rays, clean his teeth, apply fluoride and do a routine exam. He was extremely nervous and scared, but the caring staff was able to talk reassuringly to him during the experience with great success!! I will tell everyone about the wonderful experience he had at Special Care Dentistry and recommend them to all our special needs friends.

My son James Chris Abrams has cerebral palsy and uses a wheelchair. Finally a dentist office that could help him! He was able to stay in his wheelchair for his appointment. He was put under anesthesia and his teeth were cleaned and x-rayed. He received a good report and was watched to see that he was ok before I took him home. Thanks to everyone for taking good care of him.

WOW! What a fabulous staff from Dr. Seifikir who called me and asked about HC's personal history just Wow! The front office personnel as Brittany and Esther were so supportive and helpful in helping us verify dental benefits for my twin brother! The care and attention to detail is fabulous! We have been under other dental offices that specialize in assisting the disable but you guys are in a League of Your Own! You kept reassuring the Foster Care Giver during my brother's procedure and it brought great comfort thank you!

Today was our first visit. My IDD family member is elderly, in a wheelchair, and cannot communicate or cooperate well, but the staff absolutely knew what they were doing and demonstrated patience and expert skills in their interactions with my special family member. They made what has previously been a super-dreaded, half-day, anxiety-ridden experience into a streamlined, supportive, and professional one. The waiting area was uncrowded, cheerful, and clean. Esther, at the front desk, was knowledgeable, efficient and kind. Before and during the procedures, the doctors kept us informed. I could hear the staff encouraging my family member, keeping her calm and comfortable. This office also has special equipment so the patient can remain in a wheelchair while receiving treatment! There was no wait; we arrived at 7 and left smiling at 9, even with IV sedation and several services completed. I am so relieved and grateful! If you need dental care for your family member, I UNDERSTAND how horrible and hard it is to find help. The special needs population is grossly underserved. Dental care providers generally avoid them, so it's encouraging to see brave, skilled professionals willing to serve them, unselfishly. I highly recommend this practice, and I'm sure they are dearly loved. We each get to decide how we will use what God has given us, and they have chosen well!

Everyone was so kind and helpful here! My son and I were welcomed with smiles from a friendly staff! Dr. Seifikar took his time, ensuring that my son felt comfortable and was understanding what was about to happen. He also took the time to explain everything to me and worked with me to develop a good plan of care for my son. I highly recommend Special Care Dentistry!!
