r. Spath has made it his highest priority to continue his education and study with some of the most respected dentists in the United States. Dr. Spath completed his undergraduate education at UCSB, and continued on to the prestigious University of the Pacific where he completed a Doctorate in Dental Surgery in an accelerated 3 year program. Dr. Spaths is currently clinical faculty and lecturer at the UCLA School of Dentistry teaching in the Department Restorative Dentistry. Under world-renowned dentist and educator John Kois, he is a graduate of the Kois Center completing courses in full mouth reconstruction, occlusion, implants among many other topics. As a member of the R.V. Tucker Gold Study Club, Dr. Spath has been educated extensively on the use of gold; the ultimate level of microdentistry. Gold has been determined to be the longest lasting of all materials. Dr. Spath is also actively involved in his local Spear Study Club which is a worldwide society where dental specialists and general dentists interactively exchange ideas.
As the son of a dentist I always saw the enjoyment that patient-care brought to my father and decided to follow in his footsteps. There is nothing I enjoy more than dealing with people on a daily basis with the added bonus of coming home everyday knowing, big or small, that I helped someone.
We give back on a more regular basis by providing dental care for children and young adults of the Orangewood Foundation. Orangewood is a foundation that helps foster, abused, and homeless children become productive members of society. These individuals have often had significant neglect to their oral health. We regularly provide dental care to these individuals free of cost.
I enjoy spending time with my friends and family. My hobbies include surfing, cross fit, and spearfishing. When summer come around I love making trips to Catalina. I also enjoy watching my Ohio State Buckeyes (I am from Ohio). And to be honest I view dentistry as my favorite hobby and often spend my free time watching a dental procedure online or reading journals.

If you are looking for a dentist who understands the importance of listening to you as a person. Your thoughts or your concerns, you have located a dentist who understands the importance of both. His team has been trained to work with him and as a team together. Dr. Spath loves his job, his team loves theirs. You see it each time you go in for your appointment. However, the real magic comes if you have to have more than an xray or cleaning. I had one back tooth, (in a small mouth no less). That decided to create a real delicate decision. Dr. Spath sent me to an excellent endodontist (in same building, but different office. He was a magical dentist too. Magical, in that after a 50 min. root-canal, with a new method called "Gentlewave ", I had zero pain during and right after the procedure. One week later, Dr Spath worked on same tooth for a tad over an hour. had to make a small cut into gum to access the tooth root to remove a tooth-spur deep down on my root. It needed two stitches. SURPRISE, AND NO LIE. ABSOLUTELY ZERO PAIN.Yes. you are reading this correctly. No pain after oral surgery. At my one-week post op. I asked him how his hand and arm were feeling. I could see every muscle in his arm (within my eye-shot working super hard. ) This is a dentist who knows his craft and knows when to send patients out when they need a separate specialist. His dad taught him the importance of caring for others and his mom too. His dad was a dentist and his mom was a dental hygienist. His parents taught him early on, what you do for others. Will one day come back to you. Treat people well and in return they treat you well. They become long-term patients.

It was an absolute delight to return to Spath Dentistry! The front office is very professional and courteous. Mindy is an excellent dental hygienist, very knowledgeable and puts you at ease! Very dedicated and a straight shooter she tells you what you need to know... and not what you want to hear!! I would highly recommend Spath Dentistry!

My wife and I moved from out of state and could not be any more pleased with choosing Dr. Spath and his staff as our new dentist! The entire team has been so friendly, accommodating, and made us feel very welcome as their new patients. The office is super efficient and Dr. Spath has all of the latest technological equipment. I moved to Newport Beach a few years ago and have really enjoyed the Spath Dentistry experience. From scheduling appointments, the cleanings, the teeth whitening appointments and the full staff. I would highly recommend making your first appt.
