Our team at Spartanburg Family Dentistry uses Schick digital x-rays which provide the clearest available images on the market for improved cavity detection and diagnosis of dental problems. Digital x-rays are also much safer for the patient as the radiation is 80% less than with normal x-rays.

Born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska, Dr. Summers made his way to South Carolina to attend Clemson University where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Clemson in 2003. Following his graduation from the College of Dental Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina in 2007, he continued his education by completing a one year Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. The residency expanded his knowledge and experience in comprehensive and cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Summers credits this course of study for fueling his passion to excel in the clinical practice of cosmetic and restorative dentistry.

Dr. Summers is married to Dr. Laura Mills Summers, an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon in Spartanburg. She joined her father, Dr. Bill Mills, in practice at Upstate Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at North Grove Medical Park. When not caring for their patients, Drs. Josh and Laura Summers enjoy the outdoors, cooking and spending time with their precious daughters Elliot and Ann Palmer, son Warren and dog Winston. Dr. Summers is an avid ice hockey fan and enjoys competing in a Greenville mens ice hockey league as goalie for his team.

As a member of The Rotary Club of Downtown Spartanburg and a deacon at First Presbyterian Church of Spartanburg, Dr. Summers is delighted to be a part of the Spartanburg community and appreciates the opportunity to have a positive impact in our locale for years to come. In addition to his expertise in areas such as limited adult orthodontics, cosmetic and comprehensive interdisciplinary dentistry. Dr. Summers is also a member of the Academy of Sports Dentistry and the American Academy of Clear Aligners.

Stephanie was born and raised in Columbia, SC. She graduated from Midlands Technical College in 2013 with an Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene. She was honored with the Hu-Friedy Gold Scaler award for her exceptional clinical skills. Stephanie moved to Spartanburg in 2014 and joined the team at Spartanburg Family Dentistry.

Love has been a dental hygienist for 19 years. She obtained her Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene from Greenville Technical College. Love was ranked class president in her graduating class of 2000. She loves helping her patients achieve great oral health by remaining up-to-date on all the latest dental technology and techniques. She believes that every patient that walks through the office doors is like family and strives to make them feel at home. Having her patients feel comfortable and receiving professional care is her ultimate goal.

Love enjoys spending time with her husband Josh of 19 years. They have four beautiful children together. She is a servant to Christ, loves serving at her church, ice-cream and date nights with her husband.

Shannon has been a dental hygienist for 11 years. She loves helping people achieve a brighter and healthier smile! She finds it very rewarding helping patients feel more confident about their oral health and making them want to smile more often. She thoroughly enjoys developing new friendships every day!

Shannon is from Boiling Springs and graduated from Greenville Technical College with a degree in dental hygiene. She loves spending time with her husband and her two puppies. She also enjoys weekend trips, cheering on the Carolina Gamecocks and antiquing furniture projects in her free time.

Heather is an expanded duty dental assistant and received her certification at Spartanburg Community College in 2013. She loves meeting new people and helping them achieve their ultimate smile and improving their self-esteem. Heather will be at your side while Dr. Summers is improving your dental health.

She loves getting to know our patients and feels blessed to be a part of such an amazing team. In her time away from the office, Heather enjoys spending time with her husband Brent, hanging out with friends and family, shopping and going to the gym.

Shanon was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada and in 2008 moved to upstate South Carolina. She attended college at Spartanburg Community College and received her EDDA certification and diploma in 2017..

Mandy grew up in Gaffney and moved to Spartanburg after high school. She attended Spartanburg Community College and received her certification in dental assisting in 1997. She enjoys building patient relationships and teaching the value of a healthy smile. In 2018 Mandy transitioned from the clinical team of dentistry to the administration team where she is able to continue to grow in the career she loves.
