Dr. Scott Ruvo grew up in Sussex County, N.J., playing football and wrestling for Pope John High School. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago Dental School, and returned home to Sparta to practice as a family dentist. He is committed to helping his patients achieve excellent oral health in a warm and comfortable environment. Dr. Ruvo comes from a family of dentists and actively seeks the latest advances in dental medicine by attending prestigious continuing education seminars including the Rosenthal Institute for Cosmetic Dentistry and the Pankey Institute. Dr. Ruvo is also trained in orthodontics through the United States Dental Institute.
Dr. Vergara is also a long-time Sussex County resident, having grown up in Newton, NJ. After completing her undergraduate curriculum at the University of North Carolina, she attended the University of Medicine and Dentistry in New Jersey. She recently completed a general practice residency at Morristown Memorial Hospital, where she was trained in Cad Cam Technology, implant restorations, full mouth rehabilitation and pediatric dentistry. Dr. Vergara also has a passion for working with the disabled and patients with special needs.

Our dental hygienistsare crucial to the success in the care you receive at Sparta Dental Arts. They are highly skilled and highly trained professionals, instrumental in the maintenance of your oral and dental health. They have received advanced training in the non-surgical treatment and maintenance of periodontal disease (gum disease), the most prevalent and potentially dangerous oral infection. Their goal is the prevention of this disease by facilitating your preventative dental prophylaxis (cleaning) and providing you with the skills and knowledge you need to do your part in its prevention. They are certified in dental radiography and take routine radiographs (x-rays) of your teeth to aid in the early diagnosis of dental problems. You can count on them to stay up to date on the latest advances in periodontal therapy and provide you with detailed oral hygiene instructions so you can continue to care for your smile between visits.
Our dental assistants work closely with your dentists to make sure you are comfortable and receive excellent care. They are highly skilled and trained to facilitate the efficiency of your treatment. In addition to directly assisting the doctors, they are also certified to serve you through the areas of radiography, sterilization, and expanded functions including impressions, construction of temporary crowns, charting and sterilization. I have been Dr Ruvo's patient for years. I trust him 100%, he is a great dentist, funny, and very attentive. And in case of your dental emergency he will drop anything and come to the rescue! He did it for me...years ago during the Labor Day Weekend when I lost my front cap and I was toothless ... He is the best

Great group of professional. But I hate sitting in a dental chair patched with duct tape. Time to trade in the Benz for a new dental chair. Also your billing statement does not provide the info needed to pay on line. This needs to be updated.

No one likes to go to the dentist, and I am a little worse than most when it comes to dental phobia. But, Dr. Ruvo and Nancy ( my hygienist) are unbelievable, kind, funny and caring professionals who made the experience way better than I ever thought it could be. I am so grateful to have found this practice. This is a professional, experienced and an all-around great dental experience! The office is clean and beautiful, and I can't recommend them enough. Giving them five stars doesn't even begin to let you know how great this experience was, and this is a dentist!!!! I highly recommend them.

Dr. Ruvo and his team are not just knowledgeable, personable, and extremely professional but you'll have a good time while in the chair! Additionally, they'll make you relaxed, tell a few stories and make you laugh. Most importantly: They've seem to "perfect (verb)" the Art of Dentistry. I left my dentist of 30 years for this office and so far.....NO REGRETS! 9/16/22: Another great visit w/Dr Ruvo.

I had a great 6 mos check up today with Dr. Vergara! Love her warm, friendly personality & humor too! Trust is important when selecting a dentist & my family has confidence in Dr. Vergara's skills. A check up isn't complete without a thorough dental cleaning by our favorite Hygienist Christine, who has been taking care of us for years! Christine is gentle & I would highly recommend her to any nervous patient. Five stars isn't enough for this team!

From beginning to end it was a wonderful experience. I was taken on time with a courteous staff. My dentist Dr Ruvo worked through my issue with me. We discussed it together and he gave me options to choose from. I felt like I was part of a family that was highly professional and caring. My issue was resolved before I left the office.
