Komal Patel DMD, MS, is a board eligible orthodontist who is thrilled to be joining the NV Orthodontics team. Considered by her peers as a smile architect, she is ready to create beautiful smiles for her community. Dr. Patel graduated with high honors from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign where she was involved in organizations such as The Dental Club, and the Intramural Tennis League. She also contributed her time as a teaching assistant during her final year.

Dr. Patel began her dental career in Alton, Illinois where she attended Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine. While in Alton, she graduated with numerous awards in academics and graduated in the top three of her class with Magna Cum Laude distinction. She was also awarded the certificate of academic excellence with the highest grade point average in the Delta Sigma Delta fraternity. Dr. Patel continued her pursuit of excellence in specialty training for orthodontics at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. While in resident training, she completed her Masters Degree in the field of smile esthetics and is in the process of publishing her manuscript. Dr. Patel stays at the forefront of orthodontic innovation by attending local and national professional meetings as well as seeking out continuing education courses that will keep up with the rapidly advancing field of orthodontics. She also is a proud member of the American Association of Orthodontists.

Born and raised in the Chicago area, she is excited to be moving to Nevada with her fianc. Dr. Patel and her fianc have dedicated their lives to serving their community. She has always advocated for dental health, and her fianc, the newest physician at Renown Health, has always advocated for physical and mental health. Together, they are proud to now serve the Nevada area. In her free time, Dr. Patel loves to spend time with her family and friends, hike, camp, play tennis and travel.

Dr. Fazila Durkin attended undergraduate school at University of California San Diego, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry and cell biology. After graduation, she attended dental school at the prestigious University of California, San Francisco and graduated with the highest honors. Her accomplishments in dental school enabled her to further continue her education at the esteemed Mayo Clinic. She completed three years of specialty training in dentofacial orthopedics and orthodontics, as well as a Masters Degree in biomedical sciences at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine.

Dr. Durkin joined the practice in July of 2021. She believes that the universal sign of friendship is a smile and that everyone deserves to feel confident enough to show off their smile to the world. Dr. Durkin enjoys the people aspect of clinical care. She sees each patient at each visit to ensure that treatment is progressing optimally. Her priority is to provide her patients with the highest quality orthodontic care in a friendly, comfortable environment and to help every patient receive their best smile in the shortest time possible!

When Dr. Durkin is not practicing dentistry or attending continuing education seminars, she values time with her family and her birds, painting with oils and acrylics, reading, and the many outdoor activities Nevada has to offer.
