Dr. Basora was born and raised in Northern California and earned a Bachelors Degree in Small Business/New Ventures from California State University at Hayward. While attending college classes, he had the opportunity to travel and observe in the dental schools at both the Kasturba School of Dentistry in Manipal, India as well as the University of Washington School of Dentistry. Both experiences solidified his desire to pursue a career as a general dentist.He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Creighton University School of Dentistry in Omaha, Nebraska, graduating in 1996.
Upon graduating from dental school Dr. Basora associated with two dental practices in Plumas County, California and after realizing there was an underserved segment of the local population, he helped to established the dental clinic at Eastern Plumas Health Care, Portola. This experience in hospital dentistry allowed Dr. Basora to provide a broad range of dental services that has proved invaluable in private practice. He updates his training regularly in many areas of modern dentistry, including restorative dentistry, cosmetics, Invisalign and sleep apnea.
Dr. Basora feels the field of dentistry is a great combination of science and art, and that suits his strengths well. He is committed to providing patients with a safe and comfortable environment which allows them to look good, feel healthy, and be confident they are making good decisions about their oral health care. Dr. Basora relishes the interactions he has with his patients and finds great joy in making connections with members of his community.
The Doctor and his wife, Emma, have two children, Ben and Lucas. They enjoy many of the outdoor activities our area has to offer from paddle boarding and bike riding at Lake Tahoe to hiking the many trails in the Lakes Basin area above Graeagle.

Everyone from the receptionist, hygienist to the doctors are amazing. I was not very familiar with the dentist and very afraid at first to start my dental journey. They made me feel right at home. I am very comfortable there. Both my husband and I have been treated very well every visit. Patricia is my favorite hygienist! I recently had my wisdoms pulled and he did it quickly with no issues or pain. I love this place.

Moved from Idaho to the Reno area. My dentist In Idaho had been my dentist fir 40 years. I tried to be with this dentist for 3 years and their Hygienist are not very nice and one went to a community College in the city I came from in Boise Idaho the school has a terrible reputation for hygentists school. I asked her simple question about cleaning my teeth because she finished so fast. She brought that up for the next three cleaning and said I accused her of not Doing her job. I thought we talked it thru and all was good then she passed me off to someone else. I felt very uncomfortable there. Don't need that. Plenty of other dental offices in the area.

Amazing staff and Doctor. Takes the time to listen to your concerns and the staff explains what they are doing and why they recommend certain products. Highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a dentist.

Caia was my hygienist today and she was awesome. I have very sensitive teeth and she made sure I was comfortable the whole time. She also didn't polish my crowns. Crowns are not supposed to be polished and every hygienist wants to. Caia knows what she is doing, is very pleasant, and makes you feel as comfortable as you can be while getting your teeth cleaned.

Dr. Basora and his staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. The office is warm and comfortable. Dr. Basora put a restorative plan together for me; although it's still a work in progress, I couldn't be happier with the results to-date. I would recommend Sparks Family Dentistry to anyone that may have apprehensions when it comes to having work done on their teeth; this staff knows their stuff!
