I was Dr. Sparkmans first patient 14 years ago! I always dreamed of becoming an orthodontist. Dr. Sparkman and I planned for me to join the practice ever since I was considering attending dental school. That dream became a reality as soon as I completed residency.

During a scan with the PreXion device, a cone-shaped beam will be moved around you while it takes images that are put together to create a 3D model of your teeth, bone, nerve pathways, and soft tissues. The more insight we have on the state of your oral health and the layout of your smile, the more informed treatment decisions well make.

To help our patients achieve the trademark Sparkman Smile, we pay close attention to every detail. This includes using the Spectralase Laser to clear excess gum tissue and reveal a more beautiful and functional smile.

In the past, orthodontists would use messy molds to make models of the patients smile for treatment decisions and appliance fitting. At Sparkman Orthodontics, weve replaced this outdated method of making models with the iTero Scanner.

Sparkman Orthodontics supports youth sports more than any other panhandle business! This includes backing organizations such as Hoop 10 Basketball, Kids Inc., Palo Duro Soccer Association, Amarillo Soccer Association, and Pampa Soccer Association. We also support organizations such as the Amarillo Symphony, the Amarillo Little Theater, 24 hours in the Canyon, Hope Choice, and Little Mended Hearts. In addition, Dr. Sparkman is the director of the dental initiative of the Ryan Palmer Foundation.

Dr. Sparkman grew up in Pampa, Texas where he started Sparkman Orthodontics in his fathers general dental office. Dr. Clifton is from Pampa as well. He was actually the first patient of Sparkman Orthodontics. Dr. Lyons is from Canyon, Texas. She loves being back in the panhandle living down the street from her brothers and parents.

Our goal for our patients is to do the least amount of treatment in the shortest amount of time possible. If our patients are not ready for treatment, we will see them every six months (FOR FREE) until they are ready!

Each of our three locations (Amarillo, Pampa, and Clovis) is equipped with a CBCT unit to provide the ultimate in dental diagnosis. We use 3D scanning technology to initiate treatment with the best of BRACES or the latest technology in CLEAR ALIGNERS.

Dr. Sparkman: Outside of Dentistry, Dr. Sparkman, and his wife Ashley, stay busy chasing their six children! They love cooking out, fishing, and anything else they can do as a family. When Dr. Sparkman has some free time (not much), he loves to play golf, snowboard, and watch Aggie football. The Sparkmans are active members of Hillside Christian Church.

Dr. Sparkman grew up in Pampa, Texas, where his father has been a general dentist for over 25 years. He graduated from Pampa High School in 1994, and then attended Texas A&M; University. Dr. Sparkman was a member of the Corps of Cadets and was elected by the student body to serve as a Senior Yell Leader.

After college, he attended dental school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where he graduated in the top six percent of his dental class and was selected for membership in the Omicron Kappa Upsilon national dental honors society. Dr. Sparkman continued his education by completing a two-year residency at the nationally recognized University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston, Texas.

Dr. Sparkman has been trained in the most up-to-date orthodontic care and advanced technology. He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists and is one of the youngest orthodontists in the nation with the distinction of being a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics.

On a personal note, Dr. Sparkman and his wife, Ashley, were married on December 18, 2004. They are proud parents of four sons, John Kyle, Reagan, Cannon, and Thatcher, and two daughters, Blythe and Gable.

Dr. Lyons grew up in Canyon, Texas. She is the daughter of Paul and Mary Lou Lyons, both WTAMU alumni. Her father has been building custom homes in the area for 34 years. Her mother, the founder of Lyons Realty, has been active in Panhandle real estate for 38 years.

As a true Lady Eagle, Dr. Lyons started playing basketball as soon as she could dribble! She was also involved in dance and even performed in the play, Texas. She is a 2007 Canyon High School graduate and then went on to Texas A&M University. She attended the University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston. Here she graduated at the top of her class while receiving numerous accolades and awards. After a year of practicing General Dentistry in Colorado, Dr. Lyons returned to Houston to pursue Orthodontic training.

She is a member of the American Board of Orthodontics and Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society. She is also a member of the American Association of Orthodontics and Southwest Society of Orthodontics.

Dr. Lyons met her husband, Denver, while living in Houston. The two were married on October 21, 2017. They enjoy sports, country music, dancing, and traveling to new places together. Dr. Lyons has a passion for photography and can be found on most weekends with her camera in hand. She is also an avid golfer and loves spending time on the course with her family and friends.
