As a pediatric dentist, I have been given the pleasure of working with beautiful children every day. I know the importance of a smile in building the self-confidence of a young person. Oral health is a critical part of a persons overall well-being.
Every interaction with my patients brings me joy. To be able to comfort and encourage an anxious toddler through a procedure is very gratifying. It is rewarding to get a child out of pain and into dental health. I constantly get reminded why I chose this profession when children come running into the office, full of excitement to see my team and me - it's my passion.
My goal is to guide children to develop a foundation that leads them to a lifetime of proper oral health. The reward comes when a child has taken ownership of their dental health, and repeats what Dr. B. has taught them about daily brushing and flossing.
After graduating dental school, I practiced general dentistry for two years while serving the disadvantaged dental community as a National Health Service Corps scholar. As the dental director of a health clinic, my exposure to pediatric dental patients led me to realize working with children was my calling.
Pediatric dentistry, like all areas of healthcare, is a constantly advancing specialty. Staying abreast of the latest developments, and carefully evaluating new options before incorporating them into patient care, is the core of my dedication to my profession and my patients.
These professional organizations offer numerous meetings, lectures, and seminars, along with peer-reviewed journals. I make the most of every opportunity to learn, and incorporate the wealth of knowledge into my patients care.
In my spare time you can find me supporting my childrens many activities, mentoring in the community (I especially love mentoring children who aspire to join the medical/dental field!), and traveling. I am a lover of all things Disney and enjoy spending time with the Mouse at Disney World! Closer to home, I love to read, craft, and cook for my family.

Everyone is so kind at this office! Dr. Burgess is amazing and the visit was super quick with almost no waiting. We had our little man evaluated for oral ties and they made it as comfortable for him as possible. We will see Dr. Burgess for all of our pediatric dental needs!

Very unorganized with scheduling and follow up!! Long story short...my daughter's initial appointment/consultation was in March of 2022. We were scheduled to return for a procedure on April 4th 2022. With all the back & forth (due to lack of organization with scheduling etc) from the staff to Doctor, the procedure was not done until August 2022. The morning of my daughter's procedure, the Doctor met us in the pre-op room with an unpleasant attitude. Again, I'm going to make this as brief as possible.....in the presence of my daughter, husband, and anesthesiologist, the Doctor intercepted the anesthesiologist while he was providing vital information about the procedure and what to expect of my daughter afterwards. The doctor approached me with a aggressive and VERY unprofessional tone of voice and said to me...."look! there's no need for you to be rude, I've had several complaints about you and your attitude from 'my girls' at the clinic and the surgical center!". Even her colleague stood in disbelief and apologized on her behalf when she exited the room. He also reassured me that he would make sure my baby was well taken care of during the procedure. Despite her approach towards me; I remained calm (bc I certainly could have returned the energy) and replied to her in a respectful manner. The next day, I scheduled an appointment with the Doctor for a sit down face-to-face with her. I wanted to get a clear understanding with her before my daughter's follow-up appointment. Nevertheless, the morning of my appointment, one of the "my girls" called to cancel the appointment and didn't not offer to reschedule. Get this...we went through all that with "Doc" and her "girls" and my 4 year old was returned to me with the same tissue between her two front teeth and her speech therapist hadn't noticed a difference in the movement of her tongue. FYI: My daughter was tongue-tie 'ankyloglossia' (still is) and was suppose to receive a tongue clipping. Also, she was suppose to have a frenectomy. However, tissue still remains in between her two front teeth. We will continue speech and look to have the procedures redone if it's ineffective. Not trying to discourage you just sharing my experience. Good luck!

I will never go back to this dental office! They do not communicate with each! The light skin lady at the front desk with all the makeup on! Gave me an appointment to bring my daughter back which she did not record! So my daughter missed school for nothing! We could not be seen...Second time around we was scheduled to come back until they get all info from her last dental office, soon as we get there the dentist tells me she can't work with the X-ray they sent her so that was another blank trip! N another day missed of school! I asked why no one called to tell me instead of making my daughter miss school n me wasting gas again n the dentist acting like I was in the wrong for asking that! If they would get their communication together especially with clients this would be a great dental place!
