Sparkles Dentistry for Children is the brainchild of Dr. Natasha Mathias and is based on the concept of being a Dental Home. A place that feels safe and fun and most importantly pain free. She goes above and beyond to make the experience one that is positive. She is known around town as Dr. Sparkles. After graduation from dental school in India, Dr. Natasha Mathias received a DMD degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. She has a specialty certificate in pediatric dentistry from the New Jersey Dental School, UMDNJ. Dr. Mathias received extensive training in hospital dentistry, anesthesia, sedation, child growth and development, orthodontics, and treatment of children with special needs. She is a strong believer in prevention and makes every effort to educate parents and children on proper diet, oral hygiene and maintenance. She believes in nurturing children into great patients as adults and every child leaves her chair with a smile. She is widely traveled and takes much interest in activities in the Montclair community. She is involved in the health and wellness initiative, as well as Montclair Board of Education in various public outreach efforts. She mentors young adults who express interest in pursuing careers in healthcare, especially dentistry and other fields in healthcare.

Dr. Lorraine Brenner began her career in orthodontics when she was a college student, working as a dental assistant for our previous orthodontist, Dr. Melissa Grieder. She was amazed with the effect that tooth movement could have on a smile, as well as ones personality and confidence. Dr. Grieder explained growth and the mechanics of tooth movement. She completed her bachelors degree in biology with a minor in chemistry at Ramapo College of New Jersey and went in to Rutgers School of Dental Medicine where she received her dental degree. Dr. Brenner did a year of general practice residency at Hackensack Hospital and orthodontic training at St. Barnabas Hospital. In addition to clinical practice Dr. Brenner also loves teaching. She is an orthodontic attending/instructor at Hackensack Hospital. She is a junior Olympic champion in skiing.

Dr. Barnes is a graduate of New York University College of Dentistry and the University of Health Sciences, Antigua School of Medicine. He completed his dental residency at Interfaith Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York and his anesthesia residency at Brookdale Medical Center, also in Brooklyn, New York. In 1993 Dr. Barnes started Paramount Ambulatory Anesthesia, a provider of office based ambulatory anesthesia for the pediatric dental patient. In his spare time, Dr. Barnes enjoys traveling and, as an avid General Aviation pilot, volunteers with the Patient Air Lift Services organization.

Dr. Goldman completed her undergraduate degree at Hamilton College where she graduated cum laude with a double major in Sociology and Biology. After college, she attended dental school at the University of Pennsylvania where she completed the Community Health honors program. Dr. Goldman also earned a Master of Public Health degree from SUNY-Albany where she was inducted into the Delta Omega National Public Health Honor Society. She returned home to Boston to complete her pediatric dental residency at Boston Childrens Hospital-Harvard University. Dr. Goldman is currently completing a PhD program in Social Welfare at the Wurzweiler School of Social Work where she hopes to utilize her knowledge to advocate for access to quality oral healthcare for all children. Her mission is to ensure that your child looks forward to each dental visit and that this positive association will translate into excellent oral health outcomes for your child.

Maureen Harper brings over 3 decades of experience and training to her role as an ASHA Board Certified Speech Language Pathologist. She is licensed in the states of New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, and Delaware. Her training and work have spanned internationally and a variety of settings including clinics, an orphanage, a rehabilitation hospital, elementary, middle and high schools, home based environments and private practices. She has extensive experience and expertise in the assessment and treatment of people across the life span with a wide array of oral function disorders manifested as difficulties with chewing, swallowing, feeding/food aversions/picky eating; oromyofunctionaldisorders including resting tongue position, mouth breathing, open mouth posture; TMJ dysfunction,restricted tethered oral tissues; speech; auditory and language processing; fluency; executive function; voice; neurosensory reflexes, cranial nerves, Paradoxical Vocal Cord Movement (PVFM) , and breathing to support airway health.

Ashley Rich has been at Sparkles since 2008. She joined as an assistant and soon after became a dental hygienist. She grew up in Clifton,NJ and always wanted to get into the dental field. She absolutely loves working with kids, they make her job very entertaining and fun! She says she never feels like she is actually Working when she comes to Sparkles, because she really loves what she does. She is a self professed foodie and loves spending time with family

Jennifer Zamora is our Registered dental assistant. She began her journey in dentistry right after graduating high school. She graduated as a DA from Fortis Institute. Her patience, care, and love for working with kids has kept her in the pediatric field. She loves taking Xrays, spending time outdoors, and traveling with family.

My name is Sarah Rosenthal and I'm a Registered Dental Assistant at Sparkles Dentistry. I am a New Jersey native and I currently reside with my children in Randolph. I've been in the field of Orthodontics since 1995. I enjoy helping to create beautiful smiles and having the ability to develop relationships throughout the process. Throughout the school year I enjoy Officiating High School Track meets in my spare time.

Suzanne Cunha comes to us with a 20 year background in logistics and project management of live events. As our front desk assistant, she uses her past experience to be sure all facets of the day run smoothly. Having two young children of her own, she loves to meet and greet our patients with a smile so they feel welcome for a positive dental experience.

Carol is a native of Colombia and moved to the USA when she was 18. She lives in Clifton with her lovely family: her fianc Ivan, her sons Samuel and Esteban and 2 dogs Toby and Luigy. She loves to travel and enjoys outdoor activities with family and friends. Carol has been in the dental field since 2006 and earned her RDA in 2013. She loves working with children of all ages and seeing the smile transformations from orthodontic treatment.
