Dr. Harry Karna began his studies at the Government Dental College & Hospital of Bombay, India in 1981 and received his Bachelor of Dental Surgery Degree in 1985. After obtaining his California State Dental License in 1992, Dr. Karna practiced in San Francisco for 2 years and then moved to Southern California. He purchased an office in 1994 in Moreno Valley where he has since been in practice.
Dr. Karna is a Board Certified Diplomate Specialist in OroFacial Pain and Oral Medicine, having trained from the prestigious University of Southern California (USC). Dr. Karnas extensive 3 years of specialty training in Orofacial pain provides an interdisciplinary diagnostic and treatment service for patients with complex head, neck, temporomandibular, and orofacial pain. Pain can affect one's quality of life and performance skills, leading to emotional distress and depression. The earlier the condition is diagnosed, the better the prognosis. Patients with the orofacial pain symptoms should be referred to a specialist with expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of these disorders. The orofacial pain specialist provide care at various levels, such as direct treatment, prescribing medication, prescribing rehabilitative services, performing pain relieving procedures, counseling of patients and families, direction of a multidisciplinary team, coordination of care with other healthcare providers pursuant to optimal healthcare delivery to the patient suffering from a painful disorder.
Dr. Karna has taken several advanced dental continuing education courses at UCLA, USC, Loma Linda School of Dentistry, New York University School of Dentistry, UCSF and UCSD to name a few that allow him to perform simple to complex procedures in dentistry. Dr. Karna emphasizes a holistic approach towards dental treatment. He practices all phases of general dentistry including, but not limited to, cosmetic dentistry, restorative dentistry, removable and fixed prosthodontics, minor oral surgery, periodontics, implant dentistry and endodontics.

This is the first dentist, EVER, to actually sit and chat with me about my issue with TMJ. Very thorough exam and xrays, offered non invasive solutions to try. Highly recommend Will return!

Hands down the best dental experience I have ever had. Hadn't been to a dentist in over 15 years and my teeth were in super bad shape. No judgments no reprimands just great and helpful staff. The doctor is incredibly reassuring and talented. Overall just a great experience.

You know when a Dr or Dentist says they wouldn't recommend anything they wouldn't do to their own family member? Usually I pass that off as them just trying to get more $$. This is the first dentist in a VERY long time that the statement feels like the Dr really wouldn't do anything if he wouldn't do to his own. My mouth doesn't feel like it's just a money pit. I will be honest ... I'm not his best patient but I try. When I'm brushing my teeth or flossing (or not flossing *gasp*) I hear his voice in my head. That's the impact Dr Karna has had on me. He often complains he's getting too old for this and maybe he looks a little Doc Brown but I for one keep hoping he doesn't retire anytime soon! My visits are always great and the details Dr Karna and his staff can remember of my family and I is wonderful. It's that little town feel when you go there... not like they are just turning patients to make a dime. Highly recommend!

I drove from Los Angeles to Dr. Karna for a cleaning for myself and son today. The 70 minute drive is worth it, as Dr. Karna is top of the line in dentistry. My friend's well renowned dentist in New York, told her he was the top student in his class, so she sought Dr. Karna out upon moving to California. We have been going for many years, and are so grateful to have found a dentist who is not only highly skilled but possesses a high level of integrity. He has a fun and very kind personality, and amazing staff. The office is unassuming in decor, and there are no flashy sales smiles, nor costly unnecessary dental recommendations. What you do get is honesty, and the feel that you are being well taken care of. I cannot imagine anyone finding fault with Dr. Karna's services unless the client has a contrary personality, and is generally difficult. Dr. Karna is always involved in acquiring the most up to date education in dentistry, as well as being an educator in the dental community. It is also apparent from chatting with him, that he is a terrific parent, as well as a man who loves his profession. Honestly, I cannot speak highly enough of him. There are so many dentists locally that I could go to, and many are good. I know I have the BEST dentist though, and I am proud to be able to assuredly commend him.

I've struggled with TMJ issues for years, in constant pain and unable to chew even the softest of foods. I've also been to several dentists, plastic surgeons, and doctors for my TMJ-related issues and none of them could help me OR simply suggested surgery before other options were explored. After one visit with Dr. Karna, my pain was significantly reduced and I was able to open my mouth wider than I have in years. Dr. Karna is reasonable and will give you ALL the options available to you as he is very knowledgeable in his field. His office staff are also very friendly and willing to help wherever they can. Finding a dentist with this specialty who is reasonable, down-to-earth, with staff that compliment these qualities - I thought didn't exist. Thank you Dr. Karna and everyone at Sparkle Family Dentistry for going to extra mile to help people like me. I will be recommending you to everyone I know. See you at my next appointment ;-)

Dr Karna is an Inland Empire dentistry gem. After years of unnecessarily expensive dentists we discovered Dr Karna. He's great dentist and also has extensive medical knowledge, including pain management. The quality of his work is excellent. His dental practice is very clean and all staff are very friendly and professional.

Had to wait an hour and a half for them to even bring me in. Once they did they didn't even do anything to me for another 30 minutes. Also it was my second time going and the main dentist is really weird, I would not recommend this dentist if you have kids he's very touchy and I felt very uncomfortable being in the same room as him by myself. It just seems like they don't know what they're doing. The people at the front desk are really rude and it just seems like they don't even wanna be there. Overall, I would not recommend this dentist to anyone at all, it was a very bad experience for me and my sister.

I have had the good fortune of having Dr Harry Karna as my dentist for several years.. He and his very friendly and professional staff has taken exceptional care of of me. You name it, I have had it done. Root canals, (whoever says root canals are painful, need to visit Dr Karna. There was no pain at all) crowns, implants. Dr Karna is an incredibly talented and knowledgeable dentist. I trust his work and his advice completely. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
