Additionally, Dr. Hartman has had his work published in the Middle Atlantic Society of Orthodontists Journal (Autumn, 2010) and has written other articles based on his research for peer-reviewed orthodontic journals. In November 2009, Dr. Hartman was invited to present his work at the Northeastern Society of Orthodontists annual meeting in New York City, showcasing his Board cases and completed treatment to other orthodontists and staff. Furthermore, he is on-staff at Lehigh Valley Hospital, where he volunteers his time and services, teaching orthodontics to the dental residents. In 2012, Dr. Hartman was honored locally by the dental residents as Teacher of the Year at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg Dental Department. He was also honored on the national level in 2012, being named as one of Americas Top 40 Dentists Under Age 40 by Incisal Edge Magazine, a nationally distributed publication.

When not at work, Dr. Hartman enjoys giving back to the community by participating in charity events for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, the Crohns and Colitis Foundation of America, the American Cancer Society, and the Lehigh Valley Speaks Autism Society. He recently founded the Hartman Scholarship fund, providing merit-based scholarships to local high school seniors attending college after high school. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing and skiing. Turnover rate for orthodontists is the same as you would expect at a fast food restaurant. Left my teeth worst than when I began treatment. When I had called the district manager about it she said that my treatment was purely for cosmetic reasons, even though I had made it clear that I needed serious help with my teeth. Then proceeded to tell me that since I got the "cheap" (3k down the drain) treatment, I'd have to go back and give them another 5k so that I could get "real" treatment. Staff would never communicate to me and I had to go out of my way to understand my own treatment. Also had a specific incident where the orthodontist just went ahead and started drilling away on my teeth on my left side. The orthodontist wanted ME, the patient to make a determination about my own bite. Then they must've realized they messed up afterwards because, then as the procedure should have been done, they got out the blue strips to actually check my bite. So now I just have permanent damage to my teeth that I will never get back. Edit: Their reply says I didn't go with their proposed treatment, yet that treatment of removing 4 teeth would have created far more space in my mouth than necessary and ultimately do irreversible damage to my entire facial structure. I can confirm that this is true because another experienced orthodontist in the area has actually been HONEST with me. Also their smile guarantee doesn't actually guarantee anything and they're always looking for more ways to suck your wallet dry.

I tried calling the location and was on hold for 11 mins and 30 secs. I got tired of holding. Nobody should have to wait this long on hold with several messages stating that someone will be with you and then the phone rings as if someone will pick up this time.

The staff is fine and the financing is nice and easy. But they never ever have appointments available for existing patients. They are always taking in new people meanwhile current patients have to wait a month or more to get in. I've been calling the office every day for 3 weeks straight and nobody has answered the phone even once. The communication has been an ongoing issue from the beginning.

I do NOT recomend Spark! Here is the short version of our experience with Spark. We began our journey with Spark in Sept. of 2020. We were told my daughter would need an expander. I asked about having some of her teeth pulled d/t overcrowding. They recommended the expander first, then revisit the idea of extracting teeth. 3 months later she had the expander put on. A few months later they put on the braces. In September of 2021 they decided she would need to have teeth extracted In December we had our consult with the oral surgeon. In April 2022 she finally had her teeth extracted. 3wks later they finally put the braces on her teeth. Then our problems continued. Staff were always rude. They put springs to help move teeth in the wrong place. Bracket broke off too easily. They blamed my daughter. We left this practice in August 2022. We now see David Ross Orthodontics. David Ross Orthodontics accepts many insurance plans, even medicaid. They are kind, and gave us a plan and timeline for treatment.

Really liked going here in the beginning but it seems to have new management or something. My last visit was uncomfortable and really spiked my anxiety. I was informed that I've been flossing wrong which caused my gums to swell. I can accept that Im flossing the wrong way and was willing to be taught the proper way however the ortho dentist that pointed it out didn't seem to believe me and it showed. She pulled up photos from when I had my first visit like a year and a half ago and said "they didn't look like that before." Which I acknowledged and said do you have and tips to prevent it, she walked away and another professional stepped up to show me how to floss :) very nice of her but it was still uncomfortable since they asked me to demonstrate how I floss. Before I could even take the floss out of my mouth to move on to the next tooth she told me I had it "92%" right and then proceeded to show me. It looked as if she did the exact same thing I did however I didn't want to argue and felt backed into a corner during the whole situation so I agreed. She told me to YouTube videos on how to floss with braces which wasn't a bad idea. The other professional that was changing my bands and wire I expressed to her that I felt uncomfortable with the situation and she just kept telling me "I'm sorry you felt uncomfortable" :( I felt embarrassed and a little belittled all while having 3 professionals become defensive over my flossing. I kept expressing that I'm not the professional and I don't know what's happening but the way they "helped" was not what I'd expect from professionals. Hope for better the next visit :/

This is the Dental Dreams of braces. Don't put yourself through the trama of going here. The staff is rude and half uneducated on what they're doing and have 0 guidance while working on your kids. Things are done wrong which prolongs the time your kid has the braces and they will blame and ridicule your child when (not if but WHEN) their brackets pop off or wires become lose. They're also taking a huge client increase so it's just get them in and out as quickly as possible with 0 reguard for pain, common curtisoty and bedside manner.

My son started going here in 2018. It was so much more organized and friendly. Now it's overbooked, the staff seem rushed and unhappy. The doctor is nothing like Dr.Chance was. Now they seem to charge more. They're the only orthodontics in the area that accept Medicaid, but my kids never qualified. So the prices they charge I believe are insurance prices to people who pay out of pocket. Every time my daughter goes in, someone has to get smart with her. They don't and won't talk to me like that, but I send her in and without a parent someone always has something to say. I don't appreciate that. The office is so busy that it's just an uncomfortable and rushed environment. I feel like they need to slow the pace and be more friendly. Once my daughters braces are off we will not be returning. I'll take my other children to Olson or Pederson Orthodontics. I will not refer anyone here and if they must need an orthodontist, I will tell them not to come here. I have paid close to $10,000 out of pocket and for the service, not worth it. Not to mention my son needs phase 2 and they're saying $6800. Ridiculous!!

I usually never do reviews even if I don't like a place but then it comes to my Children I will express and send a formal complaint any and Everytime I got horrible service. I have been waiting two months for a peer to peer so that my son can get his braces from a doctor Hector who I will be doing a written complaint to the board about next . I was just told that a peer to peer can only be emailed from staff to the dentist to do one but they can't make him talk to anyone How does a doctor not respond to an insurance company or a patient ??!! I will be getting my son info changed to a real orthodontist because the unprofessionalism is disturbing and costing my child unnecessary pain . I'm over this place wish I went somewhere else from the beginning. (My response since they wont let me respond to your request to have my comment removed. ) I said previously that it was for my son not me that is why you cant find my name. This is indeed the correct office ( spark orthodonics in york, pa) and I did speak to someone and told her I was writing this review beforehand and her reply was (okay I understand).. Maybe the doctor name is wrong but I will update with the correct doctor's name once I call my insurance back to confirm who rejected my son's peer to peer). I will not be removing my review because it is 1000 percent truthful and people need to know what to expect when coming here.
