Dr. Buch received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree (DDS) in 1992 from theMedical College of Virginia School of Dentistry in Richmond, Virginia. After serving 3 years as an active duty dentist in the U.S. Navy, he completed a four-year oral & maxillofacial surgical residency in 1999 at theUniversity of Cincinnati Hospitals in Cincinnati, Ohio. His passion for surgery, medicine, and knowledge led Dr. Buch to complete his Medical Degree (MD) at theUniversity of Cincinnati College of Medicinein 2001. An additional year of training in the medical anesthesiology residency program at The University of Cincinnati ensured that Dr. Buch can provide his patients with safe, high quality intravenous anesthetic care. In pursuit of clinical excellence and following his love of traveling, Dr. Buch completed a surgical fellowship at the Maxillofacial Surgery Unit at the Royal Brisbane Hospital in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. He has also served as a general dentist in the US Navy and an oral surgeon in the U.S. Army reserves. Dr. Buch has substantial private practice experience, and has been a partner in a private practice in Virginia. He has also been the director of surgery and implant dentistry at a large multispecialty and general dental practice in North Carolina, prior to relocating to Arizona in 2010.
Dr. Buch is a diplomate of theAmerican Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeryand a Fellow of theAmerican Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons(board certified in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery). He is also a diplomate of theNational Dental Board of Anesthesiology, and a Fellow of theAmerican Dental Society of Anesthesiology(board certified in Dental Anesthesiology). Dr. Buch has a special interest in oral/facial reconstruction and dental implants. He has received specialized surgical and implant prosthetic training at the world renownedMisch International Implant Institute,The Pikos Implant Institute, and theSclar Institute. Dr. Buch has learned state of the art bone grafting from the internationally recognized Dr. Bob Marx and Dr. Mike Pikos. This training has led to his expertise in dental implant reconstruction and has resulted in diplomate status with theInternational Congress of Oral Implantology(their highest level of recognition) and fellowship status with the Misch International Implant Institute. Dr. Buch also teaches bone grafting techniques and dental implant surgery to other doctors at the prestigious Misch International Implant Institute. As a lifelong student, Dr. Buch dedicates countless hours to studying surgery,bone graftinganddental implant reconstruction. He is passionate about solving complex cases and understanding the needs and concerns of his patients. Dr. Buchs commitment to education and clinical excellence through actively pursuing continuing education allows him to provide his patients with the high-quality care that they deserve. Dr. Buch is also an active member of many other national and international dental societies.
Dr. Eric Saiz is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and a Fellow of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons (board-certified in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery) in Glendale, Arizona. He was born in Apple Valley, California and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. Dr. Saiz attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas for both his undergraduate and dental education. Dr. Saiz received his bachelors degree in Biological Sciences in 2009 and his Doctor of Dental Medicine in 2013. He then continued his education in Chicago, Illinois, completing a one-year internship in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Cook County Hospital. Upon completion of his internship, Dr. Saiz traveled to Detroit, Michigan where he completed a four-year Oral & Maxillofacial Surgical residency at the Detroit Medical Center. He has received surgical training in the full scope of oral &maxillofacial surgery including dentoalveolar & implant surgery, complex facial trauma, oral & maxillofacial pathology, reconstructive surgery, and orthognathic surgery. Dr. Saiz has also completed rotations in adult and pediatric anesthesia.
Dr. Saiz has a surgical interest in dentoalveolar surgery and the removal of wisdom teeth, dental implant reconstruction, bone grafting procedures, facial trauma, corrective jaw surgery, and oral pathology. He is certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS). Dr. Saiz is fluent in both English & Spanish. Dr. Saiz is a member of several professional organizations including the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Association, the Arizona Dental Association, and the Hispanic Dental Association. He regularly attends seminars, national meetings, and conferences for continuing education in his specialty. Dr. Saiz is committed to patient care and strives to provide patients with the same care and respect that he would provide for his own family.
Outside of oral surgery, Dr. Saiz enjoys traveling, music, fitness & exercise, and spending time with family and new cockapoo puppy, Henry. He is an avid sports fan and is eager to attend the many sporting events in Arizona. Dr. Saiz is honored for the opportunity to join the Southwest Oral Surgery team.
Dr. Troy Lam is an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with subspecialty training in pediatric oral and maxillofacial surgery and pediatric cleft and craniofacial surgery. Dr. Lam grew up in Colorado, where he received his Bachelor of Science in chemistry from the University of Northern Colorado in 2004. He subsequently began his dental education at the State University of New York at Stony Brook where he earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) in 2014. He then completed post-graduate residency training in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of California, San Francisco, in 2020. During this time, Dr. Lam earned a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine in 2018 and completed an internship in general surgery at the University of California, San Francisco Department of Surgery in 2019. During his residency, he received training in the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, including dentoalveolar and dental implant surgery, oral and maxillofacial pathology, facial trauma, maxillofacial reconstruction, orthognathic (corrective jaw) surgery, temporomandibular joint surgery, and sleep apnea surgery. Following residency, Dr. Lam received subspecialty training in pediatric oral and maxillofacial surgery and pediatric cleft and craniofacial surgery at the Florida Craniofacial Institute with Pat Ricalde, MD, DDS, FACS. It was under her guidance that he gained experience in the management of the pediatric airway, cleft lip and palate, plagiocephaly, craniosynostosis, and pediatric maxillofacial trauma and pathology.
Outside of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Dr. Lam enjoys going on walks with his family, observing beautiful scenery and barbecuing. An interesting fact about Dr. Lam is that he has also earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in chemistry from Syracuse University and enjoys talking about anything related to organic chemistry. Dr. Lam and his fiance, Lydia, together with their four dogs, Daisy, Pixie, Asher and Toby, are very excited to call Arizona their new home.
