The staff at Southwest Florida Dental Group works hard to make every patient feel relaxed and comfortable during every visit. We offer a range of services to assist you with all of your dental needs. Doctors David G. Carlton and Eric W. Baxmann share over 50 years of combined experience, actively pursue continuing their education in all branches of dentistry, and strive to build strong relationships with their patients.
An important factor in your overall dental health is taking good care of the supporting structures of the teeth, i.e. gums and bone. Regular prophylaxis (dental cleanings) can be scheduled with our highly trained and licensed dental hygienists. They assist Dr. Carlton and Dr. Baxmann with the same dedication in achieving and maintaining a strong healthy smile for their patients. With emphasis on preventive dental care, their main focus is to educate and screen for periodontal disease and oral cancers.
David G. Carlton, son of a naval officer, grew up all along the east coast. A majority of his youth was spent in Florida were his love for the water and to fish flourished. After graduating from dental school at the University of Tennessee, his love for the water, the weather and everything outdoors drew him back. He moved to Southwest Florida in 1990 and has been practicing dentistry here for 27 years. When he is not working he is enjoying life with his lovely wife and 7 beautiful children.
Dr. Baxmann has practiced dentistry in SouthWest Florida for 19 years, since moving here from Michigan. His practice is centered around restorative dentistry, which allows our more mature patient population to enjoy a better quality of life. When not at the office, Dr. Baxmann enjoys spending time with his wife Patti, and his four children.

SWFL Dental was recommended to me by my realtor when I first moved to Florida in 2016 and I've been going ever since! Everyone is very friendly, I never have to wait, and they do a great job caring for my teeth! Would recommend to anyone.

From Dr Baxmann to the front desk staff were wonderful to me. I lost a cap and they replaced it with little problem. I just walked in because it had just fallen out and they were kind enough to fit me in. What a great group of of professionals. I would recommend them to anyone.

We moved from Sanibel to Naples 4 years ago and it is worth every mile in the car to return. Actually it is just up through Ft Myers Beach. Last month I had a cracked tooth and crown put in and they got me in quickly and done perfectly. Today I had my teeth checked and cleaned and they look and feel great. I've had a chronic cough for a few years and she was so patient working with me. Why would I want to go anywhere else!

This dental practice is extremely high priced and does not treat its customers very well. During a recent visit, we saw an office staff member mistreat some clients (with health ailments) by forcing them to go stand outside for prolonged periods of time (15-20 minutes) in record-breaking summer heat of nearly 100 degrees. Instead of offering them a cup of cold water and an airconditioned waiting room to sit in, this staff member was entirely rude and insensitive and placed these client's health into jeopardy by forcing them to go wait outside. This total disregard to customers and callousness towards their health, safety, and wellbeing was shocking. For a medical clinic, that is supposed to be focused and dedicated on the health and safety of its patients, this office was awful in its treatment of customers. Definitely would not recommend.

Jennifer is such a wonderful hygienist! She provided me with a thorough and gentle cleaning while entertaining me with her funny stories. Dr. Baxmann and Dr. Carlton are excellent, honest dentists with big hearts. The entire staff are caring and professional. I highly recommend Southwest Florida Dental Group!

SW Florida Dental is the best dental office. Kim cleans & polishes my teeth every 6 months. She does such a good job. She talks the whole time in a very calming manner, while using the time to educate you. Dr Baxman is excellent. He is conservative unless you request more. He gives you information options & lets you decide the course of treatment. The office is clean, efficient, and keeps on time. Rarely have to wait more than 5-10 minutes to be seen. I would recommend this dental practice to anyone needing dental care. Everyone is friendly, knowledgeable, & accommodating.
