Is it time for your childs first checkup? Its a good idea to get them in early rather than wait. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) recommends that parents take children to a pediatric dentist by their first birthday. Doing so ensures the best possible oral health for your child.

If youre a resident of Draper and are looking for a caring and professional pediatric dentist, dont hesitate to give Southridge Pediatric Dentistry a look. Well take excellent care of your little ones dental needs.

Some parents dont worry too much about decay in their childs baby teeth. After all, primary teeth will eventually be replaced by permanent teeth, they reason. The problem, however, is that decay in baby teeth could mean a higher risk of decay in the permanent teeth. And if the cavities become severe, they can pose safety risks and harm the overall health of the child. Additionally, severely decayed primary teeth can lead to nutritional deficiencies if a child cannot eat properly.

Here at Southridge Pediatric Dentistry, we place great importance on taking care of childrens teeth from the moment they erupt. In fact, we subscribe to the American Dental Associations recommendation that the first dental visit of a child must take place within six months after their first baby tooth comes in. Plus, taking your young kids on regular trips to the dentist will help instill in them the importance of proper oral hygieneand this will likely lead to a lifetime of good dental health.

Led by board-certified pediatric dentists, our practice provides dental X-rays and oral evaluations to monitor the teeth and jaw development of your child and to check the teeth for any signs of cavities and other potential oral problems. We also provide pediatric fluoride and sealant treatment to lower the risk of tooth decay.

We provide tooth decay removal, white fillings, and other dental services that will restore your childs oral health as early as now. Our dentists will also offer tips and advice to help you encourage your child to observe healthy dental care habits. This, in turn, will help to prevent dental caries, which will lessen the need for restorative dental services in the future.

With over two decades of pediatric experience, our team is warm and insightful towards any special needs your kid may have. If your child cant calm down for a procedure, for instance, we will offer sedation and other relaxation techniques. We also provide hospital dentistry for patients that require medical care while having a dental procedure.
