Amazing staff and amazing care. I walked in and explained that I was in extreme pain due to an abscess, and they squeezed me in almost immediately. Within 30 minutes I was seen, cared for and sent on my way almost pain free! It's rare to see that level of patient care these days.

Came in this morning for my usual semi-annual cleaning and exam. As I said while I was there; don't ever let Katherine leave your practice. She is the most gentle, pain-free hygienist I have ever experienced. Your practice is blessed to have her on board. I can't say enough good things about Southridge Dental. My family has been using them exclusively for almost 20 years and have no plans to go anywhere else. Kudo's to you all!

I do not recommend this practice and I will not be returning. The only redeeming factor (and the only reason for the one star) is the receptionist, Carol, who is very nice. Other than her, though, the staff is cold and impersonal. Neither the hygienist nor the dentist ever introduced themselves to me. (The only time Dr. Dunson was in my presence, he appeared from behind me to administer Novocaine shots, so I could not even tell you what he looks like.) Considering my insurance company dropped a large amount of money in their account, and I paid them hundreds of dollars, you would think they would at least introduce themselves to me and shake my hand. But no. The TV in the room was on at high volume as well as very loud music out in the office area, which was quite distracting and annoying considering that the doors were left open each time I was there. Which brings us to one of the real problems. I was promised when I made the appointment that the procedure could be done in one visit, which was important to me. But when I arrived for the appointment, I was informed it would take two visits. Apparently this happens a lot at this practice. (Read the Yelp reviews - I wish I had.) And then there was the pain. I have had scaling and root planing done five or six times in the past, but not even at the university dental school I had to visit at one period in my life was the procedure as painful as it was here. Even with Novocaine, it hurt. The hygienist was rough and merciless, and she kept resting the heel of her hand hard on the front of my mouth. I hurt pretty badly once the Novocaine wore off, and had sore places the next day in the very back of my mouth from where the spit-tube was left for a long time. And to top it all off, she didn't even polish my teeth when she was done. This was my semi-annual "cleaning" (which unfortunately this time had to be the scaling and planing) but I left with neither cleaned or polished teeth. My previous dentists have always come in after this procedure to check the work done, and then the hygienist polished my teeth. Neither happened here. This is obviously a business and not a practice dedicated to the good dental health of its patients, because after an experience like I had, as a first time patient, I can't imagine anyone would want to go back to keep up their dental hygiene. Find another dentist. I will.

We have used Dr. Dunson and his wonderful staff for over 6 years. Besides being an excellent dentist, he is honest and candid with his patients. Appointments are kept on time with no waiting. The entire dental experience is personal, professional and friendly. We highly recommend Dr. Dunson and his staff for a pleasant dental experience.

Dr Dunson is a wonderful caring doctor. He was totally painless and I had a major amount of reconstruction done. I intend to stay with him for the rest of my life for all of my dental needs. The rest of the people in his office are always there when I need them.

Before I wrote my review I wanted to experience a few visits. Let me preface... I haven't been to the dentist in decades. I had several issues with my teeth. Honestly, I tried my hardest to hide my smile. I was extremely embarrassed with the condition of my teeth. My first impression was fantastic. Everyone in the office was extremely welcoming and most importantly they were extremely supportive and listened to my concerns. It's not very often that a dental establishment makes you feel welcome the way that they did me. I visited with Dr. Dunson. We established a plan to restore my smile. That was great, but I truly was concerned if Dr. Dunson could live up to the challenge he had ahead with the work I needed. To make a long story short, he surpassed my expectations! I had multiple gum line cavities (extremely visible) I didn't expect could be repaired. Now, my teeth look amazing! You can't even distinguish between the fillings and the teeth! He definitely takes pride in what he does. Please, if you have any dental issue, do yourself a favor and visit with Dr. Dunson. I truly believe you will be happy. And let me add, he is not in the business to do unnecessary work, just what you need to be comfortable with your smile!

The front staff and dentist have been nothing but pleasant for the ten years I had been a patient. Then one sour experience with a rude hygienist now has me sitting in the waiting room of a different office. I asked specifically for nitrous oxide for my cleaning because of extreme dental anxiety and I was given the okay prior to my appointment -- nothing was said about needing to arrive early to accommodate this request. I walked in ten minutes late, was taken back, told I needed x-rays, and when I inquired about the gas, Katherine rudely informed me I was too late for that. When I said I had called ahead and requested it she snapped something about "well, if you had been on tiiiiime." I left. Then found a prescribed anti-anxiety pill in my car and figured I'd take that instead of the gas and went back inside. But no. Now I was too late totally and would need to completely reschedule the appointment I'd waited a month and taken off work for. Funny how unwashed going to have time for x-rays, but not five minutes bro get gas started. Also curious as to why I've patiently waited in their waiting room if they are so conscientious about time. I would have thought after ten years and multiple referrals an extra ten minutes could have been taken to accommodate a knownffear -- or at the very least Katherine the hygienist could have been apologetic, understanding, or anything but cold and impatient. I'm sad to have this foul experience be such a deal breaker. But it is. And I'll be taking myfamily of referrals with me.

I was so impressed with the whole experience I had. Dr. Dunson was so patient with me and explained every thing he was going to do and really put me at ease. I had 6 caps put on and they look beautiful. They did a great job and I was surprised at how painless it was. His assistant Andrea and the other staff member, Katherine where great. I can't brag enough about all the staff and will highly recommend Southridge Dental. Thank you, Kitty R
