Dr. Colleen Randall and Dr. Pamela Gibson both earned their Doctor of Dental Medicine degrees from the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine, where they established the foundation for their careers. Prior to purchasing Southport Family Dental, Dr. Randall practiced as an associate in Cheshire, and Dr. Gibson practiced in Fairfield County. The doctors always shared common values, but most importantly, they shared a common treatment philosophy comprehensive dental care built on trust, compassion and undivided attention. Knowing they could make a difference together in the dental community, the two doctors partnered in the fall of 2019 to provide compassionate care for patients in Southport and across Fairfield County.
My practice approach is to make every patient feel comfortable and heard. I encourage open communication in a trusting environment so I can cater dental treatment to each individuals needs and preferences. Lifelong relationships are at the heart of my practice, while optimizing oral health and cosmetics along the way.
Colleen (Caulfield) Randall, DMD, attended Boston University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in biomedical engineering. Upon completion of her undergraduate studies, she attended the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine and earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 2011. Dr. Randall then went on to complete a general practice residency at Hartford Hospital.
Dentistry provides the ability to blend art and science together in a truly rewarding way. No two smiles are the same and I love the ability to customize treatment plans for each patient. My goal is to build healthy smiles that make my patients feel comfortable and proud, and to create lifelong relationships with my patients. To me, my practice is my second home and I strive to make my patients feel at ease from the moment they arrive. In fact, the biggest compliment a patient can give is to feel so relaxed that they fall asleep in my chair.
Dr. Pamela (Karkut) Gibson, DMD, attended the University of Connecticut where she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in molecular and cell biology. Upon completion of her undergraduate studies, she continued at UCONNs School of Dental Medicine and earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 2013. Dr. Gibson completed a general practice residency at Danbury Hospital.
Dr. Gibson resides in Fairfield, Connecticut, with her husband, Christopher, and their two goldendoodles, Zoey and Abbey. An avid runner, Dr. Gibson previously competed for the UCONN Womens Division I Cross-Country and track teams. She continues to run and participate in local town races. Outside of the office, Dr. Gibson enjoys skiing, traveling, playing tennis, and visiting family and friends.

I was extremely happy with my visit with Doctor Pamela Gibson, I drive over an hour to this practice and I will continue because of the level of satisfaction, ABOVE and BEYOND! Starting with exceptionally pleasant and professional staff, trough smooth scheduling in timely manner (short waiting time) to outstanding skills of Doctor Pamela Gibson. The team at Southport Family Dental is amazing! Dr. Randall took care of a cracked tooth that I had on short notice and was able to expedite the process of getting a crown in place. She made sure I was comfortable throughout the experience and is a perfectionist at her job! Great work!

Going to the dentist has always been my least favorite thing but ever since I have gone to Southport Family dental it has been such an enjoyable experience. The whole staff makes you feel comfortable and welcome. Dr. Randall is the best! Would recommend for all ages!

Everytime I come in for my appointment, Dr. Pamela Gibson is super attentive and goes well out of her way to make sure to provide me with the best service. Not only that, Dr. Gibson and her staff treat me like family. I could never go anywhere else for any treatment or procedure. Most places nowadays treat you like a transaction. I always feel so welcomed walking into Southport Family Dental from the moment I walk in to the moment I leave. I don't think anywhere else can provide you the quality of care and top notch customer service like this place does. Thank you all so much!

Reply to Reply: I received the tone death reply today (below) from Southport Family Dental. I am preparing a state court dental malpractice action against this practice and will be sending it over to them today. Why would anyone go back there and pay more money to fix the problem they caused to the most noticeable teeth in your mouth. This practice has fallen below the standard of medical dental care and I again do not recommend this dental practice. Original Review: I was a long time patient of the Southport Family Dental Practice when they took over for Dr. Sal Pizzino. I had two front crowns installed to replace old crowns. The tint was not correct and had to redo twice. Then covid hit and the practice failed to follow up. The practice was purchase and the new owners refused to correct the problem and wanted to charge me for the work already performed. The Southport Family Dental purchased both the assets and the liabilities, including the medical/dental malpractice that came along with it- my two incorrectly tinted two front teeth. I met today for a cleaning and discussion of the replacement of the two crowns. They wanted to charge me for the work I already paid for, costing $4000+. Upon hearing the bad news, I told them I am leaving the practice. They let me walk out the door. It was not about the money and I will pay another dentist to replace them. What a joke and I would not recommend this practice to anyone. Many of my friends have left this same practice after it was purchased for similar reasons.

Dr. Gibson is hands down the best dentist I've ever been to. She identified a number of issues that my previous dentists all missed and explained everything with perfect clarity. She was not pushy at all and gave me reasonable options for addressing the issues she found. When it came time to do the work she was tenacious about making sure everything was done to the highest standard and stayed at it until she was 100% satisfied that the work was perfect. Moreover, every other staff member treated me with utmost courtesy and professionalism. Dr. Randall (whom I've heard is also excellent but have not seen as a patient) even took the time to introduce herself. I could not give Southport Family Dental a stronger endorsement!

I absolutely loved my experience with Southport Family dental. They truly are miracle workers! And are like a family. They have helped me to completely reshape my smile. I went from disgusting dead crooked front teeth, to a radiant smile. They shaved down my original gross teeth and applied crowns\veneers over them. I was given the best care possible, they matched my teeth color to a T. I could not be happier with my results!!!

I followed Dr. Pamela Gibson from her previous dental practice. Some of her staff went with her, and it made me comfortable finding them there. Everyone is friendly and professional. Had my bi-annual cleaning today. I'll stick with Southport Family Dental!!

I really do not like going to the dentist. I have been to a few in the area and can confidently say this is the best dental office I have ever been to! Dr.Gibson and her assistant Marlena make a great team! They were both personable, educated, and helped to calm my nerves and keep me comfortable throughout my entire appointment. The office was very clean and the entire team was friendly. Can't say enough good things about SFD!

My wife and I both go to Southport Family Dental and I wouldn't trust anyone else to care for my family. Both Drs. Gibson and Randall are extremely welcoming and kind. They answer my questions thoroughly and thoughtfully and make me feel at ease. The practice has been very accommodating to my schedule when I've had to adjust appointments and I appreciate the extra COVID precautions the office has taken to keep patients and staff safe.
