Dr. Britnie Tran was born in Vietnam, and has spent her childhood years in North Carolina, Virginia, California, Oregon, and Pennsylvania. She attended Temple University in Philadelphia, where she earned her Bachelor of Biology and her D.M.D. degree with honors.During the years she have spent in the city of brotherly love, she learned to embrace diversity, to unite with others despite our differences and serve the community together. She held the position of Community Service Chair in her sorority, allowing her the opportunity to connect and assist others through numerous local outreach events. Dr. Tran still makes frequent trip back to Philadelphia, and remains a loyal Eagles fan.

After graduating dental school, Dr. Tran moved to Virginia and joined a practice that provided dental care to children in an underserved community, where she acquired extensive experience in pediatric dentistry. She then went on to join a large private group practice in the Hampton Roads area, where she developed her skills alongside some of the best clinicians in the area. She takes great pride in the precision and craftsmanship of her work, while at the same time striving to ensure that her patients have a comfortable and pleasant experience.

Dr. Tran believes that a trusting partner relationship is essential to successful dental care. She places an emphasis in educating her patients, allowing them to make the optimal decision regarding their treatment options, as well as providing her patients the knowledge to preserve their current dentition. She strives to develop person connections, and infuses integrity, honesty, and compassion in all aspects of her practice. Having worked extensively with underserved and diverse populations, Dr. Tran is committed to service and making a difference in her community.

Dr. Tran strongly believes in the importance of learning and growing as a provider. She is dedicated to continuous education and ardently embraces opportunities to engage with the latest technologies and practices.

Dr. Tran enjoys traveling and outdoor adventures. Whether it is climbing mountains, chasing waterfalls, or just a long walk with her dog, she values the simple joy that comes from spending quality time with her loved ones.

Melissa has worked alongside Dr. Swanson since the practice opened in Fredericksburg on March 1, 2011. Melissa is a graduate of Virginia Tech. She oversees all functions of the practice to ensure that patients receive the highest quality dental care possible. She resides in Spotsylvania County and grew up in Stafford County. She is a proud mother of 3 energetic and beautiful children. She loves to be outdoors and takes a special interest in ornamental gardening. When time allows, her favorite thing to do is take weekend trips with her family. She is active with her community church and loves the opportunity to love on the little ones at the church day care. She has a strong faith in the Lord and believes each day is truly a gift. She is very thankful for the opportunity God has provided her to serve the community through her work with Southpoint Quality Dental.

Vichele graduated from Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) in 2011. Her tenure with us began in 2015 when she began working with us as a part-time hygienist. Vicheles relationship with our practice solidified in the latter half of 2016 when she accepted a position as the Stafford Offices Lead Hygienist. In her spare time, Vichele enjoys spending time with her two sons and traveling.

Patty has been a dental assistant since 1997 and has worked with Dr. Swanson since 2010. Patty is a native Spotsy County girl. Patty is married to her husband Stuart and has two kids Zack and Amanda. She enjoys camping, Nascar, and spends much of her time loving on her beautiful granddaughter Maddie!

Theresa (Thez) has been working in the dental field since 1993, when she migrated from the beautiful island of the Philippines to Long Beach, California. She has been working with Dr. Swanson since his return to the area, even prior to the opening of his own practice. Thez currently resides in Colonial Beach, Virginia, with her only son Kyle, a freshman in college at Virginia Commonwealth University. She is a huge fan of both baseball and basketball, and loves to travel with her son.

Debra joined the Southpoint Quality Dental team in March of 2015. When not assisting the Dentists and Hygienists with patient treatment as a Hygiene/Dental Assistant, she directly supports the Front Desk staff by taking on administrative responsibilities. Debra has two amazing sons and a beautiful niece with whom she enjoys spending all of her free time, often traveling to exciting places with her children. She loves to read and is a huge fan of action-packed movies.

Hi! My name is Madison. I am currently a Hygiene Assistant, working towards becoming a Dental Hygienist. I have grown up in Spotsylvania and live with my parents, twin brother, and younger sister. I enjoy spending my free time with my family and friends. I love weekend get-a-ways and visiting new places.

Jordan graduated from Riverbend High School in 2019. After completing high school, she applied to Germannas Dental Assistant program. She graduated from the program with all As and Bs and landed a spot working here at Southpoint Quality Dental in 2020. She is currently working towards going into the dental hygiene program at Germanna. In her free time she loves spending time with family and friends! She loves traveling to St. Thomas and Disney World!

Natalie has been in the dental/ortho field for 4 years. She was born in Riga, Latvia and moved to the states in 1997. When not working youll find her with her 2 year old Goldendoodle, Krew, and at the gym. She is also involved with SERVE projects for the Fredericksburg/Spotsylvania community through the church.

Kayla graduated first in her class from Allegany College of Maryland in 2010. Her employment with our practice began in 2013 following her familys move from Pennsylvania (Steelers Country). She enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter and son, traveling, and cheering for both the Steelers and the Nittany Lions.

Lauren has practiced Hygiene for 12 years. Native to Spotsylvania, she loves spending time with her two beautiful daughters and family. She is a foodie of all sorts and the way to her heart is through chocolate or peanut butter. She loves spending a free day or weekend venturing to the mountains or the beach and spends much of her free time serving her community and serving at her local church.

Theresa graduated top of her class from Northern Virginia College (NOVA) in 2010 with her degree in Dental Hygiene. Prior to pursuing her dental hygiene degree she worked as a Certified Dental Assistant for almost 23 years. She is also certified in EMS and as a Phlebotomist. Her passions include her faith, family, friends (she absolutely loves/adores being both a Mom and Grammy) and spending time outdoors with her dog/side kick Gracie. Her favorite place is with her family and being in the Outer Banks soaking up the sunshine and catching waves.

Allison began working in the dental field in 1988, becoming part of the Southpoint Quality Dental team in December, 2016. She is now one of the Patient Benefit Coordinators at our Stafford location, where she handles patient check-in and scheduling at the front desk. Allison is native to the region, having been raised in Spotsylvania County. She loves the area, and still resides in Spotsylvania with her husband and two boys. When not at work, you will most likely find her watching her boys play either baseball or soccer. Her free time consists of being a mom to her boys, playing with her four dogs, and tending to her familys chickens. Allison loves to spend time at the beach, to go on cruises, and to tend her gardens.

Rachel is a wonderful energetic part of our team. She has lived in Spotsylvania since she was 4 years old. She has a love for children (especially Dr. Swansons 3 kids), Chick-Fil-A, and Donuts. Rachel works as a Hygiene assistant as well as front desk as specializes in bringing joy to any situation.

Natalie began here at Southpoint as a patient in 2011, but later found a home at Southpoint as a patient coordinator. She was born and raised in Tennessee, GO VOLS!! When she is not at work, you can find her traveling to the mountains, antiquing, or completing home projects with her husband. Natalie is married to her very best friend, Brandon. Together Brandon and Natalie enjoy traveling to new places and finding adventure wherever they go their most loved places to travel typically includes some kind of music festival. At their home you will be greeted by their 4 year Old Great Pyrenees, Finley and their two cats Lily and Piper. She has an unconditional love for life and the people in her world.

Donna grew up in Arlington, Virginia. She moved to Fredericksburg VA in 2015. Prior to Donna joining our team she blessed the legal world as a legal secretary for 27 years. Donna began with SPQD as a patient in 2019, then she joined the team in 2020 as a patient coordinator. During her free time, Donna enjoys going to beach, camping, traveling also spending time with friends and family. She enjoys going on adventures and to antique stores to find treasures. She also has a love for animals and has two Shih Tzus named Daisey and BoBo along with 2 cats named Sammi and Peanut.

Deanna has been in the dental field since 1990. She joined the Quality Dental Team in 2015. Prior to moving to Virginia with her husband Chris, she grew up in Pennsylvania. She is blessed with two handsome sons, one beautiful daughter, and two amazing grandchildren. In Deannas free time she enjoys horses, nature, spreading the word of God, and spending time with her family.

Cindy began her tenure with Southpoint Quality dental in June 2012 after retiring from 26 years in education. She received her bachelors degree from George Washington University and her masters degree from the Commonwealth of Virginia. Her primary responsibilities at SPQD include conducting account audit for accuracy, and verifying patient benefits and insurance eligibility at both the Fredericksburg and Stafford offices. Her greatest joy is spending time with her grandchildren, but she also enjoys reading, horseback riding and painting.

Some people think that primary teeth or wisdom teeth do not need attention since they are temporary or will be removed, but the truth is that caring for teeth daily and visiting a dentist regularly is important for your appearance and the health of your mouth.
