Dr. Charles Giang finds the most rewarding aspect of his dental career to be the relationships he has developed with his patients over the past 15 years of practice. He truly enjoys and finds it personally fulfilling to get to know his patients. Dr. Giang is committed to continuing education, and his training in general, family and cosmetic dentistry allows him to provide each patient with individualized and comfortable care. Dr. Giang graduated from Tufts University School of Dentistry in Boston, 2000.
He's a member of the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association and the Southern Alameda County Dental Society. He is excited to be part of a great family practice and serve as a proud member of our community. During his free time he enjoys being silly with his little girl, snowboarding, golf and a good game of poker.
Hello there! I'm Dr. Hammad Shere, but friends and family refer to me Hammad. I was born and raised in Bay Area with my parents and 3 younger sisters. I lived the majority of my life in Newark, California before I moved out to attend UC Davis for college. Shortly after I obtained my undergrad degree, I embarked on my dental journey at Tufts University in Boston. After completing my training and receiving my DMD, I practiced in Virginia for several years. Though we thoroughly enjoyed our time on the beautiful east coast, my wife and I both agreed that there was no place like home. So, in May 2020, we moved back to the Bay Area.
Coming home has been a surreal experience. I am absolutely thrilled to be back in the Bay Area and to be given the opportunity to practice dentistry in the same community that helped open so many doors for me. I am determined to provide my patients with the most comfortable and pleasant experience, all while giving people the healthy confident smile that they desire and deserve.
Outside of dentistry, I am an avid sports fan and root hard for Bay Area teams, in particular the 49ers, Warriors, and Giants. During our free time, my wife and I enjoy finding new restaurants and cafes. For us, nothing beats Bay Area food culture! And of course, we love spending our time being outdoors and taking advantage of California weather. As such, we are always open to suggestions for sweet hiking areas and amazing viewpoints.

I am sensitive to pain. I told my hygienist about my fears and she was understanding and gentle. She also told me about things she saw with my teeth that I should be aware of and watch out for. I appreciate that concern for my dental health. I am always treated with care at this dentist and not like a $ sign. I have been treated like that at other dental offices and I stopped going. This is a great dental office for anyone who is fearful of the dentist.

Skilled professionals in my opinion for the 3 or 4 times I been there. Everyone from the dentist to assistants to hygienists all are very professional and very skilled. All the work they've done for me (capping 2 teeth, 1 root canal, deep cleanings) have been top notch, no complications. I will say that this is my experience, of course even the best providers do procedures that have complications, do not judge them on that but on their ability to respond and handle the complication in a efficient and timely manner. In health-care, they cannot foresee all things but they should be able to respond and act quickly and efficiently.

I have been going to this dentist office for 10+ years (as well as another family member) and will keep coming back. The staff is always caring, cheerful, and helpful. The lady in the front helped with sorting out my insurance so it wasn't a headache for me. My hygienist was very clear on explaining my dental health and how to improve on it. The Dr. makes his visit to check my teeth, cheerful and informative. The office is always clean and organized, plus I felt safe navigating around because of all the precautions they take with COVID.

I've been going to Southland Dental for quite some time now, and just recently returned for a cleaning somewhat worried about covid and how they were going to handle that. I saw precautionary measures everywhere including sanitation misting, air purifiers, face shields with double masking of staff, and precautionary measures for myself as well to ensure safety for everyone involved there. I always have been impressed with this dental group and as far as I can see, they are continuing to deserve their reputation for professionalism and patient care.

1st time visit on 12/2/20. Great office, excellent COVID protocols to protect both patients and staff. Everyone, from front office staff to support to the dentists were excellent and highly competent which, for me, is a rare find in a dental office. Everyone was thorough and explained things well. Office space and equipment were well maintained and over all the place feels like a high quality space.

I took my daughter for her dental exam and cleaning . The staff is very professional and follow protocol in efforts to curve covid 19. My daughter was very pleased with how the process went and is looking forward to returning in the future!
