My family and I have been coming to Southland Dental since 2008. I was referred to them by a friend; at the time my kids were little and let me tell you they are great with kids. The staff is caring and always greet you with a welcoming smile. My family size was 9 at the time and we'll getting them all in at once was a mission, they never disappoint! Now that my kids are gown and live in the LA area, they still continue to come here for their dental visits. Over the years the staff has changed, but the welcoming feeling has always remained. Dr. Lin and staff I thank you for your service.

Wow saved me from a horrible wisdom tooth. Went to 5 dentist who had trouble getting it out. James did it my first visit and his wife bought me McDonald's since I didn't eat. Amazing family environment, I'm thankful for you guys

This is the best dentist to go to. Isaiah and Jennet were the best! They made the kids feel at home, and did a great job. Then at the end they gave them a prize, though the only reason I'm putting 4 stars is because the wait is pretty long. But this is the dentist we're staying in. Again, Shout out to Isaiah and Jennet!!

They are never punctual. Even if you get an appointment with a specific time, they will usually be 45 minutes late. Awful. Just a pure waste of time.

Great place to go when you are unsure of what's going on, in your mouth. They treat you well, and don't try to sell you things, that you don't need. The entire staff is friendly, and caring.

Amazing story with amazing ending. I have a 4 year old son with 2 cavities and required a "baby root-canal". We saw a family dentist (not pediatric) who started work but couldn't finish because, well, he was scared. I was there for 3rd appointment. They required he be restrained by a "hugging blanket"... which is a nice name for a straight jacket attached to a board. As they started to "velcro" him down to the board, he went crazy scared. I was over him, attempting to calm him down as fought against being "strapped in". I'll never forget the moment, my little son, who I love with all my heart, who was strapped onto this board, pleaded to be be let go. He craned his neck as far up toward me as he could and with his tear filled eyes straining to meet mine, said "daddy, daddy, please, please, I'll be good, can you let me go". It broke my heart and said we can't do this and I took it off. Imagine being a 4 year old, with no explanation of what's about to happen, wrapped from neck to toe so you could not move... heck, anyone would be crazy scared too. In retrospect it was a bad idea. Long story short, they said we need to see a dentist that offers "sedation". My son felt some discomfort and I worried it might become a problem, so I wanted it treated ASAP. No dentist treats without an examination. So I made 4 appointment with dentists to look at him. I learned IV sedation is typically only available 1X per month per office. The 1st favored IV sedation. The 2nd dentist basically said they'd only treat with IV sedation. Both didn't have it available for at least 1+ month. The 3rd dentist said if we couldn't wait, he could do oral sedation in a week... "but" (hate that word), he'd still use a hugging blanket and we'd only be allowed to view from a window. We aren't allowed in the room. I hadn't planned on seeing the 4th dentist because they said even though they don't do sedation, I should really talk to Dr Lin because he's treated with kids without sedation for 20 years. After 1st + 3 dentists all confirming sedation, I almost didn't go, but did because it turns out the office was less than a mile from my home. The experience didn't start well because we had waited over an hour when I could tell Mom wanted to leave. She was a little disconcerted and upset (although I have to say, the staff were very friendly). I suggested we hang in there and wait a little more when in walks Dr Lin. Amazingly, within seconds, I my confidence shot up because Dr. Lin was so warm and animated with my son, he warmed up to Dr. Lin immediately. Long story short, after explaining my sons experience and what I'd been told by 4 other dentists, Dr Lin told me he wouldn't even allow his own son to be sedated because every "once-in-a-while", you read a kid went to sleep and never woke up... "it's like winning a bad lottery, it just isn't worth the risk because our children are so precious". In his opinion, many dentists find sedation easier than to deal with a screaming, squirming kid. He was told me he certain he could treat my son without sedation. He said he could even treat my son within an hour as he had a female staff dentist who would be available. When she came in, I was a concerned as her "chair side" manner was not kid friendly. My son went into his hysterics and she gave up, blaming my son (SO unprofessional). We were ready to leave when Dr. Lin came in and said he'd treat my son himself. Long story short, Dr Lin had such steady hands despite my son squirming and screaming, HE DID IT. He did what I saw the 1st and his own lady dentist GiVE UP on. Dr. Lin is perhaps the bravest and most amazing dentist I've met. I'd give him 10 out of 5 stars if I could. Thanks Dr. Lin, you're the best.
