I would like to share a little about myself as part of my introduction to you. I was born and raised in Argentina, and I am fluent in Spanish. I moved to the U.S. in 2008. Since arriving here I have been in private practice as an Associate Dentist. Much of my family now lives in the U.S., and we share a passion for dentistry. My wife, also a dentist who I met in dental school in Argentina, has a dental practice in Grass Lake.

I grew up downriver and have lived in southeast Michigan most of my life except my undergraduate education in Cleveland. I went to the university of Detroit school of dentistry and have been a dentist since 2007.
It's been 42+ years since I started Practicing Dentistry, first in Allen Park and most recently in Southgate. They have been exciting years and it has been a pleasure getting to know you and serve you. We have had the best patients ever.
In 2015 we welcomed Dr. Emily Buehner to our staff and she has fit in very well. Having Dr. Emily has allowed me to take additional time off for family and to practice golf (unsuccessfully I might add).
I love Dentristry, and love being able to take care of your dental needs. Our office staff and doctors are dedicated to making your visit here as comfortable and pleasant as possible. And you already know as a patient, smiles and laughing can be heard year round.
I am writing this to let you know that I am entering into the next phase of my life where I will be working fewer hours each week. My wife and I like to travel and do other activities, and many of you, my longstanding patients, have graciously accepted this and encouraged me to take more time off. Do not fear, I plan on being here a while yet.
Every time I shorten my hours though, one of my main concerns is your future dental care. Dr. Rodolfo Diaz had joined the practice and assumed most of my clinical responsibilities. I am confident he will provide excellent care. Dr. Diaz has been practicing Dentistry in the Metro Detroit area for 10 years and is an excellent and personable dentist. He reminds me of myself 28 years ago, eager to help you in every way, with compassion and skill. I look forward to what new things he will bring to add to your care.

Hi, my name is Lisa. I've worked happily with Dr. Zammit for over 18 years. I work as both a receptionist and dental assistant to Dr. Zammit. I have two amazing children. In my free time I enjoy traveling with my husband and painting vintage furniture.
My name is Francesca and I am one of the dental hygienists. Since I was a child, I have always had a love for teeth! Today, I perform dental cleanings, check for oral cancer, take X-rays, apply fluoride, educate you on oral health and how to keep you mouth healthy.
I am licensed in local anesthesia and nitrous oxide. I strive to make my patients as comfortable as possible, knowing that coming to the dentist can be scary to some. I am fortunate to say I truly love my job! I am currently working to obtain my bachelors of science degree but in my free time, I enjoy cooking, baking, boating, and spending time with my husband, family and friends.

I'm Stephanie one of Dr. Zammit's dental assistants. Although I have only been with this office since July 2016, I have been assisting for close to 30 years. I enjoy my job because I really have the opportunity to educate our patients and take care of their needs.

It was a great experience getting my teeth cleaned!!! The dentists were very good and were very friendly. We had a great conversation during my cleaning and, before I knew it we were done with the cleaning and I had already schedule my follow up appointment in a few months time. I recommend this to anyone who is looking for a new dentist in the Downriver/ Metro Detroit area.

Dr. Emily kept me informed of what to expect every step of the way. She was considerate about how I was doing. Conversations were pleasant and work was done quickly; at least the time passed easily for me. She and her assistant, Stephanie work together well and included me in best match color for the crown. What a breath of fresh air! Almost forgot to mention that I am always greeted by all the staff; and two at the desk even helped me with a IPhone problem.

UPDATE 6.28.22 My whole family now goes to Dr. Diaz and they all love him and his Team! My wife, three year old daughter and 12 year old son all go. WE LOVE THIS PLACE! Dr. Diaz and the entire staff at Southgate Family Dental are just the best! You won't find a group of more caring people Downriver. Don't waste your time anywhere else!

There is no better place than Southgate Family Dental. Not only have I been going here for 40 years, but my parents went here before me, and my children now go here as well. Dr. Zammit, Dr. Diaz, and Dr. Emily are caring and compassionate doctors, down-to-earth, and easy to talk to about your dental needs. The hygienists and every single staff member are knowledgeable and professional. But honestly, this place just feels like home. They treat people well, with respect, and help with every part of your dental experience. Who could ask for more?

Southgate Family Dental is by far the best dental office my family has ever been patients at. Everyone in the entire office is incredibly kind and caring. They always know each of our children by name and remember the specific details about each of our lives. We drive 40 minutes to get here and I never regret it because of the wonderful care we receive!

This is the best dentist that I've ever been to. Everyone is so friendly, always keeping up conversation with me and each other. It's really like a family here. They even remember things that I tell them about my life and everything, and ask me about them next time I come in. like these people are the best.
