A Jamestown native, Dr. Mitchener received his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the State Univeristy of New York at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, after which he completed his General Practice Residency at Erie County Medical Center (ECMC). Following his residency, Dr. Mitchener worked briefly as an associate before starting his own dental practice, which is now Southern Tier Family Dentistry, PC. Dr. Mitcheners plan for Southern Tier Family Dentistry was, and always has been, to offer the highest level of comprehensive care using modern dental techniques.
Dr. Stuart is a graduate of the University of Buffalo School of Dental Medicine and completedhis residency at Erie County Medical Center.When attending dental school and residency, Dr. Stuart fell in love with the Southern Tier because of the areas beauty and wonderful people. He married his wonderful wife and has two children.Though he has experience in all aspects of general dentistry, Dr. Stuart is focused particularly on restorative dentistry, oral surgery, removable prosthodontics, and oral cancer diagnosis and management. Dr Stuart has completed extensive training in implant placement and management.

The best services I have ever received. This office provides a clean environment with a talented and caring staff. My hygienist Marcy always does a wonderful job cleaning my teeth. Shannon is also a very knowledgeable assistant and helps Dr. Mitchener work quickly and efficiently. I wouldn't go anywhere else and I highly recommend this office to anyone looking for a new dental care facility.

Our 5 year old ran into a friend and hurt her front tooth. It was a Friday afternoon and all the pediatric dental places were either closed or had a full schedule. I called Southern Tier Family Dentistry and they got us in right away. Dr Stuart was wonderful with my daughter who has a fear of all things medically related. He was very calming and explained everything so that she could understand and feel comfortable. On top of that, the bill was incredibly reasonable for an emergency visit with no dental insurance! I couldn't be more impressed with a dental practice.

Dr. Mitchener and the ladies are wonderful! They are very professional and unlike other dental offices in the Chautauqua area they don't over charge or charge you for multiple things for one issue. The office is beautiful and I won't go anywhere else!

1st visit and the hygienist (Candy) and dentist (Dr. Mitchner) listened to my concerns, offered tips and advice and addressed each one individually. Great place. Highly recommend. Will continue to travel 1.5 hrs for their care.

When they informed me of work that they needed to perform on a particular tooth, I asked for an estimate from my insurance. I waited for over a month and heard nothing. The receptionist was not helpful so I called my insurance and they called the office to tell them what they needed to send to my insurance to form an estimate. Then after a few more months after hearing nothing, called and spoke with the same receptionist, long story short, the person did not care about this issue. I now have a great dentist who answers my questions and an office crew who does their job.
