Spoken like a true dental nerd! The only thing that I like more than practicing dentistry is attending continuing education courses. My team and I are consistently taking courses to learn the latest techniques. I LOVE it! It is my goal to bring warm southern hospitality to our advanced care here at Southern Smiles. Implant dentistry and facial esthetics are my work passions, and I enjoy other things as well. I am often asked, 'What would you do for a living if not dentistry?'. What a great question! Dentistry is my second career and I love it! I was an aerospace engineer designing spacecraft for 15 years early in my life. I was frustrated at the slow progress of spacecraft development, I loved teaching and interacting with people, and I wanted to work with my brother. I am so happy I made the switch 25 years ago.

I love applying my engineering knowledge along with my surgical and dental skills to help each and every person we care for. I am fascinated by the little complex steps and parts, the science and the surgery, and the hand-eye coordination required to do what we do!

Every person comes to us with unique needs: functional, physical, emotional, aesthetic, etc. Our job is to take all of that and develop a plan to help our patients make steady progress toward a beautiful, healthy, radiant smile that they can enjoy for the rest of their lives. To give every person the best possible functional and aesthetic outcome that our team can deliver is what gets me out of bed every day. Dentistry for me is all about my love for people.

I am a native of St. Bernard, Louisiana, lived in north Louisiana for 15 years. Now Im a resident of Lakeport, CA. I am married to the former Miss Suzanne Renee Noto and we have grown children: Henry Long, III, a Ph.D. student in mechanical engineering; Samantha Long, a recent chemical engineering graduate from UC Davis; and Specialist JeffreyLong, a linguist for the US Army in French and Korean.

Caity is married to a high school teacher and has a beautiful baby girl, Paisley. Her favorite hobbies are horseback riding andcamping.Caitys family owns a large ranch in Lake County, so she is fortunate to have most of her family nearby.

Rosie is great about communicating with our patients, starting with their initial visit to our office. She helps them feel comfortable and encourages them to talk about their dental dreams and about their lives. In each exchange, she learns from the person, and figures out how best to help them achieve their oral health goals. Much of Rosies workday is spent educatingher patients about healthy dental care habits, which leadto great oral health and a healthier body.

Rosie is the proud mother of two children and has been married to a wonderful husband for a decade. She enjoys being involved with her childrens education and sports. Life is busy, but she wouldnt have it any other way! In addition to her busy schedule she is currently enrolled in a Bachelors Degree Program in Dental Hygiene, in which she anticipates acheving this career long goal andgraduating August of 2022.When Rosie takes a break from work, schooland kids, she likes playing golf and going wine tasting with her husband. They also love the outdoors and camp every summer.

Rachael joined our team in 2017 after completing her degree in dental assisting. Since then, she has gone back to school and graduate from University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco, CA. While working alongside both doctors, Rachael provides exellent patient care ensuring each patient has a great experience at our office.

A Lake County native, Sharisse has been married to her husband for two decades and has three children,Cameron, Victor and Cadence. She enjoys camping with her family and friends. She also loves watching the 49ers and Dodgers play!

Jessica is one of our many assistants who works hard to create a postive environment where patients rave about our hospitality. Jessica has recently graduated from University of the Pacific, Aruthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry. She can be found assisting both doctors, using her new skills to provide excellent patient care.

Having joined our office in 2017, Xenya brings compassion and a great attitude. Xenya has since then graduated from University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry. Working alongside both doctors in patient care, she assists during procedures and ensures our patients' comfort. She enjoys spending time with our patients and getting to know them on a personal level.

Chelsey has worked for her father, Dr. Keith Long, since 2006. She startedhygiene school in 2014 and is now one of our dental hygienists. Chelsey works withthe doctorsto meet the oral health needs of her patients. She provides education regarding oral homecare and the best ways to achieve optimal health. Chelsey enjoys interacting with her patients and developing a trusting relationship with them, all while learning about their interests, family, and social lives.

Chelsey and her hardworking husband Derek have a beautiful daughter Addison and an Olde English Bulldogge named Pegasus. They love watching Addison play sports, socializing with friends, and spending quality time together as a family.

Melisa manages the daily operations of the business. This includes direct communication with our patients regarding financial agreements and taking responsibility for the personal care of our patients in relation to nursing needs, if necessary. She manages the continuing education and travel for the entire dental team, office accounts, contracts with business partners, insurance companies, partner/vendor agreements, advertising, budgeting, OSHA, payroll, human resources, marketing, and ensuring that our team remains compliant with protecting patients rights regarding HIPAA. In addition, she keeps the team safe by enforcing compliance with OSHA standards. Melisa also communicates directly with patients to ensure they have a pleasant and successful office visit.

Melisas hobbies revolve around her family here in California and in Louisiana. She has a very full life traveling with her husband to all his dental conferences and keeping up with their children and grandchildren. Melisa enjoys attending mass on Sundays and attending retreats.

The interactions that Sabrina has with those we care for are, she says, the best part of her work. She believes we truly do care for some of the most amazing people. The experience of getting to know them and their families and developing nurturing relationships makes her look forward to coming to the office in the morning. As our offices clinical coordinator, Sabrina keeps everything moving smoothly, to ensure the best experience for our patients. She believes that getting the treatment you need when you need it, is essential, and shell do everything she can to make that happen.

Outsidethe practice, Sabrina along with Byron her husband of 20+ years enjoys family time and makingmemories. Whether is road trips to Arizona to see her oldest daughter Ashlynn who is attending ASU orstaying localwith youngest daughter Jordann and all her extracurricular highschool activies. There isnothing Sabrina cherishs more then her family.

Emma excels at helping patients relax and enjoy their time here. Shes very good at making sure a patient is comfortable in the treatment chairand is always by their side during a procedure. Sheensuresthat they understand how well the procedure is progressing. Emma says that helping people achieve and maintain a healthy, beautiful smile, especially people whove had dental issues in the past, is very fulfilling. Providing chairside assistance to both doctors.Emma is great at helping themknow that they are in excellent hands.

Away from work, Emma most enjoys spending quality time with her husband Martin, her sonDiego,and her daughter Hilliana. She also likes shopping excursions, barbecuing, and traveling. By the way, shes a superstar when it comes to karaoke!

Quick to smile and laugh, and always there for our patients, Miranda loved getting to know each person we cared for and encouraged them to open up and talk. While she is no longer with us, Mirandas kind smile and compassionate nature will be our inspiration always.
