Dr. Charles Smith is the founder of Southern Rivers Dental. He is a second generation dentist. He holds degrees in biology and chemistry from Georgia College & State University, is a graduate of Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry, and received advanced education in general dentistry from South Texas Veterans Affairs. He enjoys making a difference in peoples lives through dental health.
Dr. Smith believes that a smile makes a great first and long-lasting impression, and he wants to help make that first impression a great one for his patients. His goal is to improve each patients oral health care and further the Kingdom of God through his dental talents. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Kyndall, his two daughters, Olivia and Hensley and son, Levi.
Dr. Franklin Perlis graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Biological Sciences. He then attended Augusta Universitys Dental College of Georgia and graduated with Doctor of Dental Medicine. Following dental school Dr. Perlis completed a residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in Hospital Dentistry and received a certificate in Advanced Education in General Dentistry. Dr. Perlis believes a healthy and confident smile plays an important role in the health and well being of the whole body.
Lisa enjoys seeing patients smiling faces after receiving exceptional dental care. She likes to make sure that patients are always comfortable and relaxed in our dental office. She loves the people she works with and feels blessed to be part of such a great group.
Emily is one of Southern Rivers' dental assistants. Emily enjoys helping Dr. Perlis make our patients feel good about their teeth and overall oral health. Emily is a life-long resident of Newnan, Georgia. In her spare time, Emily likes to hunt, fish, watch football and hang out with her friends.
Katelyn Bedrosian is a dental hygienist who has been with our practice since 2012. She received her training at West Georgia Technical College. She is also certified by the Georgia Board of Dentistry.
Katelyn loves spending time with patients, building relationships with them and explaining the importance of oral hygiene. She makes sure every patient is well-informed about their oral care, and she is always happy to answer any questions or address any concerns. Making patients feel welcomed and assuring them that they are receiving quality care is very important to her.
When Kellie is not working, she enjoys being home with her sons. The boys keep her busy and fill her heart with love and laughter. She also likes to work out at OrangeTheory Fitness as an approach to personal wellness.
You know how your afraid to go to the dentist? Well, I'm that guy. Its been a while since I've been but couldn't take the pain any longer so I went to Southern Rivers. I must say I was terribly nervous but the staff was unbelievable. They are totally professional and thoughtful about their patients and Dr. Smith, well I can't say enough about him other than he was sensational at his job. -James

Dr. Osborne is phenomenal!! She is so amazing, kind and gentle. She makes double sure you're comfortable and doing ok. I have found my forever dentist. When I got home today I told my family "They are our dentists!!" I am so grateful to Sarah (sp?)for telling my husband to come to this practice!!

I have been going here for years, and the whole staff has always been so nice and professional. They always make me feel relaxed during my visits, with no anxiety. The doctors are awesome!!

I've had very bad experience with dentists until now. Drs. Perlis and Smith made me feel very comfortable. Explained in detail what needs to be done. No more anxiety and panic .

The only dental group I will go to! Me and my family use them and are very happy. Nobody likes going to the dentist, but they make it as pleasant as they can. I love having the same dental hygienist every time too! Same friendly faces every time.

Dr. Smith and his crew ( Emily and Tara ) were amazing. I had a very dramatic incident with a tooth and they went above and beyond to help me though the 3 month process. Making it as easy as possible. Working around my chaotic schedule and dealing with all my difficulties. And my 2 front teeth are very thankful and happy with the outcome. I can't thank them enough. Smiling!!

Dr. Franklin Perlis is the best! He is attentive and gets a thorough medical history prior to your procedure. He explains what is entailed in the procedure at hand and what else might be necessary for optimal dental health. His support staff is phenomenal, especially Kaitlin! Could not ask for a better experience! They even helped my husband with a treatment plan when he had an after-hours emergency on the first day of a long holiday weekend.

Have been a patient when Dr Laney Smith and Dr Scott Johnson were the Dentists. Dr. Charles Smith has taken over and great work and customer service. Chipped a tooth and was going out of town and was able to work me in and fixed the tooth.

I had a great experience here. The staff was great. Dr Smith has excellent bedside manner and I'll be coming back here for sure in the future. They were respectful of my time and appointment. I look forward to seeing all of the staff again.

I personally feel this office is that hidden gem that deserves all the exposure and promotion available! I was so happy with the service I scheduled my next appointment for the day after ! I was so impressed with the service I received at my appointment today! The staff, all the way from the front desk to the dentist, was so friendly and helpful. The dentist really took his time looking at my teeth and addressing any concerns I had. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Katelyn is so patient and kind, while cleaning my daughters teeth. We love seeing her! Stacy the hygiene assistant was so nice to my daughter and made her feel comfortable for the whole visit. The front office staff, Becca and Tara, are sweet and welcoming! Dr. Johnson of course rocks, and we recommend our whole family to him. Best staff ever!

We are loyal to a good practice. As a matter of fact, we've been with our last dentist since 2004-ish; we only left because the commute no longer fit into our busy lives. My husband & I scheduled our new patient visits at Southern Rivers Dental after multiple people referred us. Our new hygienist, Katelyn, was such pleasant surprise! She was warm and friendly, making it easy to sit in her chair and share stories. She was gentle and took plenty of time to assure the best possible care. Dr. Perlis was kind and thorough which firmed up our new home at Souther Rivers Dental. We couldn't be happier to have found chairs to plant ourselves into for our dental care!
