Simon grew up in Montreal Canada and graduated with Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in education from Concordia University. As business manager at SMPD he oversees patient accounts and can be found handling almost all the non-clinical jobs from sterilization to front desk. Simon loves to spend time with his family. He swims with the Maine Masters and enjoys open water races along Maines lovely coastline and lakes.

Shelly started at SMPD as a scheduling coordinator in June of 2019. She comes from 20+ years in the veterinary world as both a Veterinary Technician and CSR. Shelly is very excited to have entered into a new adventure here at the office. When Shelly is not working she enjoys traveling and enjoying the outdoors.

Courtney joined the team in March 2021. She grew up in Portland, Maine. She served 6 years in the Air Force and was stationed in Arizona. You will see Courtney at check-out answering phones, scheduling patients, and helping wherever needed. In her spare time, she like spending time with family, playing with her poodle, Winston, and checking out new restaurants.

Kayleigh joined the team in August of 2020. As an intake coordinator, they will be the first face you see at the door. Before working at SMPD, they completed an undergraduate degree in Psychology and is currently on the path of furthering their education in STEM. When not in the office, Kayleigh enjoys studying, being in nature, and spending time with their fianc and Bengal cat.

Emily started at our office in 2011 as a floater, completing tasks such as cleaning rooms and sterilization. After graduating from the University of New Englands Dental Hygiene program in May of 2012, Emily joined our practice as a dental hygienist! She continued her education and received her Masters Degree from St. Josephs College in 2019. Emily was born and raised in Maine, growing up in Standish and now living in Buxton with her husband, Brett, and their daughter. For fun, Emily enjoys traveling, boating, x-country skiing, and spending time with her family and friends.

Keelan has worked at Southern Maine Pediatric Dentistry since 2009. She graduated from the University of New England in 2007 and St. Josephs College in 2020 with her Masters Degree. She currently lives in Buxton with her husband, daughter, dog and cat. Keelan very much enjoys the outdoors whether it be camping, hiking, or fishing. She spends a lot of time with her family and friends and travels whenever possible!

Mikaela began at our office in 2013 as our sterilization tech/floater and has been a full-time hygienist since 2016. She graduated from UNE in 2011 and from UMA in 2012, finishing with her Bachelors Degree. Mikaela grew up in Millinocket, Maine and now resides in Windham with her husband, Dan, their son and two pups Lady & Rudy. She enjoys quality time with family and friends, traveling, watching sports, and adventuring outdoors!

Brittani graduated from the University of New England in 2016 where she acquired her Bachelors of Science degree in Dental Hygiene. She was born and raised in Maine, growing up in the downeast area and now residing in Gray. She is passionate about making your childs visit to the dentist a positive experience! She loves spending time with her family and friends, playing tennis, and exploring the outdoors hiking, biking, and kayaking!

Chauna graduated from the University of New England in 2020 with a Bachelors of Science in Dental Hygiene and is currently enrolled at St. Josephs College for her Masters in Health Care Education. She was born and raised in Maine and loves all it has to offer. When not at work Chauna enjoys yoga, hiking, camping & lake days.

Miss Sheryll has been with Dr Whitney since 2005. She had started her career as a Dental Assistant in 1979. She loves working with children and accompanying Dr Whitney in the hospital. Sheryll also enjoys coordinating staff events and mentors the staff she loves. She grew up in Connecticut, however, has lived in Maine for over 20 years where she raised her four amazing daughters. In her spare time she loves going to the beach, reading, spending time with friends and family and visiting her grandchildren every chance she gets.

Tara joined SMPD in January of 2018. She attended Worcester Technical Institute where she received her certification in dental assisting. Tara has been working in pediatric dentistry for over 18years. She recently moved to Maine for a more simpler life after living in Boston for several years. In her spare she loves practicing and teaching the art of yoga. She also loves running, traveling, and the outdoors.

Blake joined the SMPD team in January of 2019. She attended Dental Career Institute gaining her Certification as a Dental Assistant. When she isnt you can find her on the basketball court. She enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and her dog Dudley. She also likes to snowboard and explore the outdoors.

Nikki joined our office in December of 2020 as a billing and insurance coordinator. Nikki comes to SMPD with 20+ years of OB/Gyn and Dental Office knowledge. She loves figuring out your insurance and billing inquiries. Nikki lives in Windham with her 2 daughters where they love to spend time on the lake. She enjoys traveling to Florida to visit her family and spending time with friends around a bonfire. Nikki likes being outdoors where you will find her boating, swimming, and ice skating. She is excited to have joined Team SMPD and looks forward to her future here working with all of you.

Dr. Wignall completed her undergraduate education at McGill University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Anatomy in 1995. While at McGill University, she completed her Master of Science degree in Experimental Surgery. Dr. Wignall attained her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Florida in 2003 and furthered her dental education by attaining a specialty certificate in Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Wignall is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She has served as an Assistant Clinical Professor at UNE Dental School and at the University of Florida College of Dentistry. She has also served on the Anesthesia Safety Committee for the Maine Board of Dentistry.

Dr. Wignall and her husband moved to Maine from Florida in 2005. They currently live in Falmouth with their sons, Alex & William and a super silly Spinone pup named Sully! They are die-hard Florida Football fans. Go Gators!
