Dr. Christy earned her Bachelors of Science in Biology from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2003. After spending a year in Boulder, she decided to start her journey to become a pediatric dentist. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine in 2008, receiving her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. She immediately started her pediatric training at the Ohio State University/Nationwide Childrens Hospital in Columbus, OH one of the top residencies in the country. She received her Masters of Science from the Ohio State University in 2010.
Dr. Christy moved back home to southern Illinois following her residency in the summer of 2010. She has been practicing pediatric dentistry full time since moving home and opened the doors of Southern Illinois Pediatric Dentistry in February of 2016. She is a member of the American Dental Association, the Illinois State Dental Society, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and is a diplomat of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
In her spare time, Dr. Christy enjoys spending time with her family. She lives in Edwardsville with her husband, Dr. Jake Schuette (also a dentist!), and their daughter, Dylan. She also has two rescue dogs and two rescue cats and is active in the animal rescue community. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, golfing, playing tennis, and (of course) walking her dogs.
Dr. Snyder earned his Bachelors of Science in Biology at Saint Louis University. In 2007, he graduated from Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine with a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree.
After serving as a general dentist and Chief Dental Officer at Family Care Health Center for two and a half years, Dr. Snyder decided to continue his education to earn advanced and specialized training in the specialty of pediatric dentistry at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry and Kosair Childrens Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. There he served as Chief Resident of Pediatric Dentistry during his second year of residency.
During his training, Dr. Snyder earned additional training in the field of pediatric dentistry including: behavior management, hospital dentistry and the treatment of pediatric dental patients under general anesthesia, oral sedation, dental trauma, comprehensive dental care for the pediatric patient, growth and development & interceptive orthodontics, and treatment of patients with special health care needs.
Dr. Snyder was born and raised in Godfrey, Illinois.Dr. Snyder lives in the Riverbend area with his wife, Sara, and their four children, Nolan, Korby, Colton, and Beckett. In their free time, the Snyders enjoy spending time with family and friends, playing sports and enjoying the outdoors, listening to music and playing games.
Dr. LaMay is the newest addition to the Southern Illinois Pediatric Dentistry team! He graduated from the SIU School of Dental Medicine in Alton, IL in 2018. Dr. LaMay is excited to bring his knowledge and expertise to all of our patients!
Dr. LaMay was born and raised in Rockford, IL. After high school, he moved south and attended college at SIU-Edwardsville where he met his wife Lacie LaMay. He continued his education at SIU by attending dental school in Alton, IL graduating in 2018 with his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree and Magna Cum Laude honors. While attending, Dr. LaMay was chosen by his faculty as a distinguished member of his graduating class by nomination into Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honor society. Dr. LaMay moved to Chicago for his residency and specialty training in pediatric dentistry at the University of Illinois-Chicago College of Dentistry and UI Health Hospital and Health Systems. His residency focused on treating patients under general anesthesia, administering moderate oral conscious sedation, behavior management, child development and psychology, pulp therapy, orthodontics/growth & development, oral care for special health care needs patients/hospital dentistry, dental traumatology, and infant oral health. Dr. LaMay has certifications in BLS (Basic Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support). He is a member of the American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and Illinois Society of Pediatric Dentists.
Dr. LaMay was born and raised in Rockford, IL. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Lacie and son, Gavin. They enjoy water-sports, playing soccer, and visiting new restaurants together. Lacie, an Edwardsville native is anticipating getting back to the area and return to water skiing! Dr. LaMay is excited to be back in the Metro-East and is looking forward to joining the awesome team at Southern Illinois Pediatric Dentistry!

My son had a great experience with Dr Snyder and his assistant Morgan. Check in and check out was smooth and everyone was very friendly and welcoming. I'd absolutely recommend them and we will be back! You will not be disappointed !

My daughter loves this place. They explain this to where even my 4 year old daughter and they treat so good. They even explain everything they were going to do and what they are doing as they go. Great place for kids!!!!

Top notch staff, top notch facilities, top notch care!! Super knowledgeable, patient with my daughter, and everything in the offices caters to the care of the children. My daughter had 3 teeth extracted today and when we were leaving I asked if she wanted to see her teeth...she was shocked and had no idea that was what they had just done! Thank you Dr. Snyder and team for outstanding treatment from the moment we walked in the door!!

Dr. LaMay is fantastic with all of my kiddos, but particularly my 6 year old who has bad anxiety and a bad gag reflex. Her previous dentist wanted to fix a couple teeth with anesthesia at the hospital which would have cost thousands out of pocket, but Dr.LaMay has the patience of a saint and did the work in office in a couple split up visits. The office is very kid friendly and my kids actually can't wait to go to their appointments. We happily drive 40 minutes to be patients of Dr. LaMay and can't express enough praise.

It's 30 minutes from our house, but I wouldn't go anywhere else! They are prepared to deal with all kids with kindness and patience, and nothing phases them. It was a relaxed environment where the hygienist and dentist both gave their full time and attention and ample opportunities for questions. There are lots of fun distractions, too-arcade games, tvs, jellyfish...Can't recommend it enough. Shout out to Rachel and Dr. LeMay!

My son, age 3 had a great experience. Great office to start out the little ones. The hygienist, Marci, was great and made my son feel comfortable. We will be back for our 6 month check-up!

Dr Snyder and staff are the best! My son has autism (non-verbal) as well oral and tactile defensive. So dental visits are difficult especially as he gets older and bigger, now 16. We have been with Dr Snyder for atleast 11 yrs. Dr Snyder gets the job done while working with my son's tolerance. Which means standing at the window for the dental exam, so he can see nature (calming) that's what he does! Doesn't see his patients as cookie cutters, but meets them at their level to make the visit a positive vs traumatic. Thank you!!!!
