Last week I had a tooth extracted by Dr. Gu and his team. From start to finish it was a wonderful experience. I'm not a big fan of any work being done with my teeth but Dr. Gu was sensitive to my concerns. I didn't feel any pain and almost a week later feel great. I would highly recommend Dr. Gu and South Shore Oral Surgery in Quincy to any family or friends.

Dr. Shemkus and the team did a phenomenal job at removing my wisdom teeth as well as making me feel comfortable with the process. I highly, highly recommend them. They were super efficient and there has continued to be minimal pain throughout the healing process.

I went for a wisdom tooth extraction. ???? Where is my window tooth??? Gone already??? The process was so quick and I am so pleased

Nurse Karly actually made me get over my fear of the dentist/oral surgery. I had a terrible experience years ago getting my wisdom teeth out by another hack dentist in Medford years ago while awake with just novacaine (severely impacted and needed to be broken into pieces and sucked out all while awake). After years of fear I finally got a procedure done and was treated so well and got through it with no fear/pain and woke up to a beautiful sweetheart of a nurse which made the whole experience practically a pleasant one! Couldn't recommend this business highly enough. 5 stars!

I highly recommend South Shore Oral Surgery. I just had a Coronectomy of one of my wisdom teeth, Dr. Shemkus was very knowledgeable about the procedure and I felt very comfortable with him and everyone I had contact with at the practice. Everyone was friendly and calmed my nerves about the procedure. Everything was done very efficiently and I felt like I was in very good hands. I hard felt the IV which I was nervous about based on past experiences of doctors/nurses have a difficult time with my small veins. Dr Shemkus himself followed up with me the next day to see how I was feeling, I will definitely go here again if I have any needs that arise.

The lady who answered the phone has a really bad attitude and super rude even when you try to talk nice to her. I thought maybe it's because she was having a bad day the first time but I have called multiple times on different days, in fact I just called 15 minutes ago and it was still the same rude lady every time. Hence, I won't go there.

I had a tooth extraction done by Dr. Shapiro without general anesthesia (by choice), so I was fully awake. He was calm, confident, personable, and got it done seamlessly. I listened to good music as his team checked in throughout the procedure. It's never fun going to an oral surgeon, but this was the best experience I could have imagined. Also, Susan at the front desk could not have been more helpful or competent!

Dr. Shapiro was great! He was very thorough and explained everything in perfectly. His assistant also shared information regarding the equipment and procedures and really seemed she enjoyed what she was doing.

I went in for a consultation, and the receptionist or the dental assistants didn't seem to be very warm. None of the assistants bothered to introduce themselves or ask me how my day was going, which I thought was very odd. I also felt that Dr. Shemkus' bedside manner wasn't quite what I was looking for. Overall, South Shore Oral Surgery seemed like a competent surgical clinic. They were just not a good fit for me personally.

Dr.Lustbader is the maestro of Oral Surgeons and a good person to chat with as well. The Dental Implant work is always top notch and the staff is friendly and engaging. Susan is very helpful and empathetic as well. This is a professional team you can count on. Thanks !

Excellent care along with caring staff. My regular dentist says Dr. Lustbader is the best oral surgeon in greater Boston. My experience has been excellent both times I needed care.

This group of professionals is spectacular. While everywhere else is literally giving you the run around, ssos gives it to you straight and in timely manner. I had a real emergency and they took me right in on a Monday morning after I had left a voicemail about 730am. It's tough finding anyone in the oral care industry that's working in your best interest, but they are. The team there is courteous, responsive and more than considerate. Very down to earth. Dr Gu will tell you in very non technical terms exactly how the procedure will go and puts the ball in your court. If you're thinking of having anything done, I'd call them to set up a consultation today.
