Following a Bachelor of Science degree from North Carolina State University, Dr. Kim received his DDS from New York University College of Dentistry. He was elected to membership in Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU), the National Dental Honor Society. He was also one of few who were selected in Implant and TMJ Honors programs. Following dental school, he completed a training in General Practice Residency at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center.
Dr. Kim completed specialty surgical training in Periodontics and Implantology from the State University of New York at Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Kim is a Board-Certified Periodontist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology.
Dr. Kim is an active member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Periodontology, the American Board of Periodontology, the Academy of Osseointegration, the Northeastern Society of Periodontists, the International Academy of Periodontology, the New York State Dental Association, and Nassau County Dental Society.

Dr. Batnick has expert training in Dental Implantology and holds a certificate from Harvard Seminars in Implant Dentistry. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and the American Society of Osseointegration. Dr. Batnick is also a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantology.
Dr. Batnick is currently on staff at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, Periodontics Section. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Implant and Periodontal Departments at New York University College of Dentistry. He is currently President of the Integrated Dental Studies Group and Past President of Long Island Academy of Periodontics (19911993).
Presently, Dr. Batnick is a Director and an Examiner of the American Board of Periodontology. In that position, he tests American and international periodontists in their attempt to attain Diplomate of the Board status.

In 1988, she earned her Certificate in Periodontics from the New York University College of Dentistry and has a certificate from the Harvard Implant Seminars (19891990).
Dr. Levine is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. She is the past Director of Periodontics at New York Hospital Medical Center at Queens and also maintains a staff position at Long Island Jewish Medical Center Periodontics Section.
She is a former Clinical Assistant Professor at New York University College of Dentistry. Dr. Levine is a member of the Board of Directors of the Nassau County Dental Society, where she served as president from 19992000. She is the past president of Queens-Long Island Womens Dental Study Club and is active in many professional organizations, including the American Dental Association and the American Academy of Periodontology. She is a Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy. Dr. Levine specializes in cosmetic periodontal procedures.

My name is Diana Barone and I just met with Dr. Levine this morning. I have never felt more comfortable being in a doctor's presences then I did with Dr. Levine. I didn't feel like a number, I actually felt like a patient. I explained to her my goals and concerns. She shared her professional opinion with what she thinks would work be best for me. I feel this is not an office where they want to make a quick buck, they genuinely care about their patients. The best experience for me was when explaining the details to me, she was not only thorough, she took her time therefore, I didn't feel rushed. Thank you Dr. Levine!

I had 2 gum recessions done here by Dr Kim. I had one done many years ago by anyother oral surgeon. What a difference. Who knew that painless gum surgery was enen a possibility. After my previous surgery there was significant pain requiring prescription pain meds. After Dr Kim? Nothing was necessary, not even an advil.... AMAZING! Dr Kim as well as everyone else in the office were nothing but nice and helpful. I would recommend you take better care of your smile than I have and never need this place, but if you do need oral surgery or implants, I can't imagine you can do better than Dr Kim.

There is so much to say about this amazing team at South Shore LI Periodontics and Implants. I was a patient a few years back and with the pandemic amongst other issues, I wasn't able to see Dr. Kim close to 3 years. I was nervous to go back as I have several issues with my teeth, however, right at the moment I called to schedule an appointment to the time I saw Dr. Kim- the entire experience was simply the best. I want to personally say thank you to the front staff who spent countless hours to validate my dental insurance and was so incredibly nice about it. To the wonderful assistants- everyone was so kind and caring- a HUGE thank you. And lastly (not certainly least) a BIG thank you to Dr. Kim- what an amazing doctor! His bedside manners impeccable! Despite the hiatus in my dental work-- he was so kind and so understanding that he was so glad to have me back. Unlike other dentists, he takes his time to explain every procedure and not rushing to extract a tooth without doing a comprehensive work-up first to ensure the best way that will work for me and overall dental health. Where other periodontists rush to push services- Dr. Kim ensures everything he does is what is best for a patient. I honestly don't write many reviews, but for Dr. Kim and team, I cannot skip writing a review. Thank you so much for making me feel so comfortable and looking forward to achieving my smile back.

I cannot rave enough about Dr Levine and her staff. Starting with the front desk, to the assistant, to Dr Levine who is the kindest Dr I ever met and amazing at what she does. It was my first time at a periodontist and she eased all my fears. My parents go to her as well and said she was the best! They were right! I highly recommend her.

I highly recommend Dr. Kim and the South Shore Perio practice. After struggling with a failed implant and several botched teeth during that process, as a trumpet player I was in need of a skilled dental surgeon to work with me in a way that could be as non-disruptive as possible. Every step of the way was smooth with Dr. Kim and I now have two new implants that are perfect and solid. I vouch for his extremely high level of confidence and competence. Dr. Kim is someone that you can trust to do only what needs to be done and for him to do it in the most professional way he can to get the result you need. The entire office is highly professional and extremely friendly.

This has got to be the easiest review I've ever written because Dr. Kim is an amazing periodontist and his entire team (especially Kathleen) are the epitome of professionalism and genuine concern. I have had to have teeth extracted, bone grafts and implants and I was terrified . Dr. Kim and Kathleen made me feel relaxed with each procedure and explained it every step of the way. The follow up after each surgery has been great and the overall services he and his staff provided have been excellent. I highly recommend Dr.Kim %.

Dr. Kim took great care of me and my teeth when I needed to have a couple of implants put in. He was warm, professional, communicated very well and inspired confidence in me. Dr, Joo Kim and the entire staff of South Shore Long Island Periodontics are the most knowledgeable, friendly, caring, experienced, honest periodontal group I have had the amazing fortune to patronize. I came to this practice 5 months ago with serious gum disease and I am already making noticeable improvements in my oral health. Dr. Kim has helped me help myself in terms of better oral hygeine and care and I see an amzing difference in my visits.
