Coming to South S Family Dental Care from Bradburn Dentistry in Clayton, California, Dr. Sahota has spent nearly his entire life in the Bay area. He is excited to begin practicing as a dentist in Livermore, as he enjoys the small town feel within the big Bay area. He is particularly grateful to be part of a community where hes experience going out of ones own way to help others as the standard.
A few years later, he went on to graduate from Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, also run by the University of the Pacific, and maintains memberships in the American Dental Association, California Dental Association and American Dental Education Association.
Experienced in competitive basketball and baseball himself, Dr. Sahota enjoys watching his favorite college and pro sports teams, especially the 49ers, Warriors, and even the San Francisco Giants. He also takes an interest in sports dentistry, which involves preventing and treating dental injuries and oral diseases related to and exercise.
As someone who cherishes family, Dr. Sahota is excited to join our practice with his sister, Dr. Navreena Sahota, who is also a dentist working side by side with him, keeping with the tradition of the office which has become quite literally a family dentistry. The two close siblings attended all of the same schools from elementary through dental school. They are both excited to be your premier dentists in Livermore.
Also active in giving back to his local community and other areas of the world, Dr. Sahota has volunteered with local community health fairs, spoken to schools about oral health, and traveled overseas to locations like Jamaica to help aid members of underserved communities with dental needs.
Her case was challenging. She was the youngest person in her elementary school to have braces, so, naturally, she was teased. She remembers guarding her smile or avoiding smiling all together until her treatment was completed. She found that the straight smile her challenging ortho experience delivered gave her new confidence, eventually inspiring her role as a dentist.
After earning her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences degree from the University of the Pacific in 2011, Dr. Sahota continued on for her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, also at the University of the Pacific. She maintains memberships with Southern Alameda County Dental Society, California Dental Association, American Dental Association and the American Association of Women in Dentistry. She also holds an Invisalign certification.
Dr. Sahota has one primary goal for her career, to change the stereotypical patient outlook on dentistry. She plans to make her patients more comfortable and help them overcome dental phobias by putting a large emphasis on patient education. She considers it extremely important that she ensures her patients actually understand their situation and their options, rather than simply informing them of the recommended treatment plan. Ideally, she wants each patient to enjoy their visit and know that she will give them the same amount of focus and attention she would give her family.
To give back and get to know her community better, Dr. Sahota has volunteered for projects involving free dental screenings for the homeless, free routine operative procedures for underserved communities, dental education for kids, free dental care for senior citizens, and overseas trips to Africa for dentistry.
