Dr. Jeff Blackburn is an award-winning general and cosmetic dentist who has established an impressive track record of success in serving the oral health needs of his patients in and around Richmond, VA. For the past 35 plus years, he has worked diligently to develop his practice into a state-of-the-art facility that offers comprehensive, individualized care for dramatically improving the oral health and appearance of patients teeth and gums. Since its inception, more than 20,000 patients have come to South River Dentistry to benefit from Dr. Blackburns treatment philosophy and care.
After he graduated from the Medical College of Virginia / Virginia Commonwealth University with his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, Dr. Blackburn established South River Dentistry in Midlothian in 1985. Since opening his practice, he has maintained an unwavering commitment to providing the highest quality cosmetic dentistry, advanced dental care, and customer service in the Richmond area.
As one of a select group of research evaluators with Clinical Research Associates (and their publication Clinicians Report), one of the largest independent dental research organizations in the world, Dr. Blackburn has gained experience with some of the most innovative techniques and technology in dentistry today.
Dr. Blackburn has earned Fellowship status in the Academy of General Dentistry and the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation and has received the distinction of being named One of Americas Top Dentists. He is also a renowned national speaker, lecturing frequently for business and dental professionals on topics including personal motivation and practice management.
Dr. Blackburn and his wife, Jennifer, share six children and reside in Midlothian, Virginia. He has always been extremely active in the Richmond community through coaching multiple AAU baseball teams, basketball teams, and high school baseball. He is proud to use his professional skills as the team dentist for the Richmond Flying Squirrels. In addition to his community activities, Dr. Blackburn also contributes his time to the Massey Cancer Center as a spokesperson, supporter, and fundraiser.
Dr. Kevin (Chang Hun) Lee is a general and family dentist providing preventative, cosmetic, and restorative dentistry services to Midlothian-area patients. Dr. Lee strives to extend comfortable, efficient treatment by prioritizing unfaltering patient care and beautiful results. Whether administering routine oral exams and cleanings or performing cosmetic treatments like teeth whitening, Dr. Lee is committed to achieving your smile and dental goals.
'Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time with my wife, Kaitlin as we try new restaurants and discover new cuisines. We also enjoy quality time with Kuma, our adorable cat. I love playing sports, especially golf and bowling. I also enjoy snowboarding and wakeboarding.'
Life & Hobbies: As a native of Virginia, I grew up in Western, VA and moved to Richmond in 1988. I enjoy snow skiing, swimming, life guarding, biking, traveling to Hilton Head, SC with my family. I also enjoy traveling in and out of the US with my closest, life-long friends.
Life & Hobbies: I've been married for 5 years to my husband George. We have two daughters, Alivia and Ava. We own a residential/commercial cleaning company. I enjoy traveling, spending time with my family, experiencing fine dining and fishing.
Life & Hobbies: I am a Virginia native and was born and raised in Dinwiddie, VA. Outside of the office, I enjoy baseball, basketball, playing softball on a co-ed team and spending time with my 2 daughters and family.
Education and Professional Background: I started working in the dental industry after graduating high school in 2001 and have taken continuing education courses for radiographs, sedation dentistry, etc.
Life & Hobbies: I am very involved in my church and teach Kindergarten through 1st Graders. I am also the childcare coordinator for a non-profit organization for teen moms. In my spare time, I like to hang out with friends and my dog, Sincy.

I needed extensive dental work because I feared the dentist, (to put it mildly). Then I read about sedation dentistry and thought this is what I need to finally get my mouth fixed. So, I went to 5 other dentist before I found Dr. Blackburn. The other dentists said they were there to help me, but, after each new visit, I found out that they were not listening to me. Then I went to Dr. Blackburn and got the shock of my life because he did listen to me. His treatment plan for me reflected our conversations. That is why he is my dentist. Before he fixed my mouth, I was always the last one to finish a meal with my husband. But, not anymore. He no longer needs to sit at the dinner table long after he has finished his meal because he don't want to be rude and I can finally finish my meal while it's still warm. Soon after my dental work was completed, I actually finished before him and I sat while he finished his dinner. It was a good feeling for a change. He was so pleased to have lost that contest and I am so pleased with Dr. Blackburn. His manner and wit is an added perk. His ability and knowledge is second to none and his staff closely reflects his work ethic and experience. My life has changed in many ways since I met Dr. Blackburn. I will always be grateful to him and consider myself extremely lucky to be his patient. BTW, I haven't written much about my dental procedures because I don't remember them. I was out like a light and when I awoke, I looked in the mirror and couldn't believe my eyes. My mouth was now healthy and I no longer suffer from digestive problems because I couldn't chew my food. And, I know my heart will no longer suffer from an unhealthy mouth. The Dr. Blackburn experience changed my life and I encourage anyone who fears the dentist to give him a try. What do you have to lose except an unhealthy mouth? I have recommended Dr. Blackburn to several people because he is G-R-E-A-T!!!

No Stars. I have utilized this dentist for about 4 years and this was the first time that I felt disrespected. The current staff was very unprofessional. There is a proper way to address clients and they did not even attempt to handle my issue with care. I went in for a simple cap reinstall and was suggested services that would have increased my bill but not necessary. Repeatedly asked if I wanted the service after I said ok to the service as if they desired me to decline. I finally did decline and walked out. From the front desk to the doctor and the dental assistant. Gone are the days of the middle aged doctors that are professional and care about patients and have been replaced with entitled millennials who carry themselves in a manner that says you need me I do not need you.

I am a self-professed chicken and hated going to the dentist, so much so that I didn't go for 27 years. I decided to go because South River Dentistry promised pain-free dentistry anc they weren't wrong. Great experience!

I started coming to SRD back in 2009 and I have never met such a wonderful team. The office staff, hygienists, assistants, and dentists have all been amazing at instilling trust and kindness in each visit. They make what can be a scary and uncomfortable visit filled with patience, understanding, and empathy.

Office was clean and staff very accommodating. Technician was very pleasant and professional. Hardly no waiting time. Extensive x-rays were taken, then dental plan was discussed with doctor. Overall, good experience.
