Here at South Range Dental, Dr. Leanne Smith and Dr. Gayle Sanchez have lead their dental team together for 11 years. They enjoy working together to solve difficult dental problems while providing the best care available.

Other members of the dental team include three dental hygienists, who have over 65 years of combined experience. They each play an active role in the office mission to provide gentle, caring, and comprehensive dental care.

An educated group of Dental Auxiliaries also play an important role at South Range Dental. These dedicated health professionals work chair-side with Dr. Smith and Dr. Sanchez as they examine and treat patients. Dental Auxiliaries help make the patient experience as pleasant as possible, prepare treatments, and obtain dental records.

The front desk team is an integral part of patient treatment. They answer the phone and pave the way to make our treatment accessible. They are also knowledgeable of insurance and will help facilitate the dental reimbursement process.

In 2006, Dr. Leanne Smith joined the team at South Range Dental. She received her undergraduate training from Louisiana State University preparing for a career in dentistry. Continuing on her journey Dr. Smith entered the Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in 2002. Upon graduating she was elected to join the C. Edmund Kells Honorary Society. This distinction is given to one who exemplifies outstanding student interest and dedication to dental education.

Dr. Smith is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, Louisiana Dental Association and the Greater Baton Rouge Dental Association. She has served three consecutive terms as a Board member and Secretary of the Greater Baton Rouge Dental Association.

Dr. Smith believes in the importance of Continuing Education so she may better care for her patients. Courses on ever changing dental treatment such as digital dentistry, implantology, invisalign, and cosmetic smile makeovers are among her educational priorities.

Dr. Smith is married to Cullen Smith and is the mother of two young boys, Grant and Cole. Together, their family enjoys spending time outdoors, boating, playing soccer, fishing and LSU athletics. She is very proud to be a wife and mother along with loving her chosen profession.

Dr. Gayle Sanchez has enjoyed practicing dentistry in Denham Springs for over 40 years. He began this journey after attending Louisiana Tech obtaining a Zoology degree with a minor in Chemistry. After a year of teaching and coaching at Pride High School, he enrolled in the Louisiana State University School of Dentistry. Dr. Sanchez graduated in 1975 and began working in Denham Springs.

Actively practicing every day brings Dr. Sanchez joy as he still loves his profession. He pursues his dental interests with continuing education in the latest techniques of Cerec restoration (same day crowns), full mouth rehabilitation, invisalign braces, and the latest methods of cavity and gum disease prevention.
