Dr. Kim has been helping patients smile brighter in South Philadelphia since 2008. His talent and innovative approach have made him one of the leading cosmetic and general dentists in the area. He is an active member of the Academy of General Dentistry and the American Dental Association and makes it priority to be up to date with the latest techniques and technology in the dental profession.
Dr. Kim grew up in Seoul, South Korea, where he earned his bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering. He achieved a master's degree in engineering from Georgia Tech and his D.M.D degree is from University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine.
Cesar was raised in the Poconos and relocated to Philadelphia seven years ago. He entered the dental field with a passion to learn and help provide a comfortable dental experience that patients seek, but frequently cannot find. He has been with the office for over two years as a dental assistant. On his free time, he enjoys watching animated films from around the world.
Ciana was born and raised in South Philadelphia.She's a hard worker and is a proud,loving mother to her beautiful daughter. Ciana understands how difficult it may be to make the choice to come to the dentist due for fear, so she makes sure to greet everyone with a friendly smile to brighten their mood.
Jen joined the staff at South Philly Dental on February 2016. She graduated from Camden County College in 2015 with an Associate in Applied Science Degree where she was awarded for Academic Excellence and Excellence in Communication. She is licensed in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and is an active member of the ADHA (American Dental Hygienists Association). Jen provides patients with compassionate, individualized care to suit their needs. She loves her job and being a part of helping people improve their oral health. In her free time, Jen enjoys going to the beach, spending time with family and friends, and listening to music.
Sandy has been a Dental Assistant for over 40 years in the South Philadelphia area. She graduated from Delaware Valley Academy of Dental and continues her education with at Community College of Philadelphia, where she acquired her CDA. She loves being a CDA and will continue her passion in this field until she retires. She enjoys seeing patients smile when they leave the office.
Kate is known for her friendly and kind personality. She wants every patient to have the best experience ever. Kate is crucial to making sure the office runs smoothly everyday. She is a proud mother of two beautiful daughters and enjoys spending as much time with them as she can.

I have beefing here for over 2 years and had 2crowns done there as well as 2 scalings, several cleaning dams a few fillings. Dr. Kim does great work and his staff is always pleasent, friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend South Philly Dental to all my family, friends and co-workers.

I am sorry to say that these people are thieves. I would not recommend South Philly dental and I will explain why. I have had two different appointments and they take x-rays and advise you as to what to do. During my first examination they found a cavity and told me that I needed root canal. I had the root canal done and they had to replace the tooth with a crown. On a second tooth I decided to have them extracted then to do a root canal. The entire procedure cost me $2400, and I had to pay out-of-pocket since I do not have dental insurance like a lot of people. During my second examination, I was told that they found a cavity and that it also needed root canal. A cavity was found on a second tooth but I told them I would rather have them extract it than to do a root canal. It seems that every time they find a cavity they advise you to have a root canal. The dentist show you the x-rays and do their best to convince you to have root canal. The cavity in question Was on a tooth that had been previously filled. I was told that the cavity was close to the nerve and if they just did a filling it may hit the nerve and cause pain. I told them I did not want a root canal and that I would rather have a tooth extracted. After thinking about it, I elected not to have the tooth extracted and it has been about a year and I have not felt any discomfort in that tooth. If you need to go to the dentist please do your research and find out where you can get the best possible prices on root canals and crowns, as well as fillings. South Philly dental gets two stars from me.

Dr. Kim, Sandy and the rest of the staff are excellent, professional and caring. When you pick a provider you never know what you are going to get but I lucked up and picked this office. It is clean, has the latest high-tech equipment and educational tools to help you prepare for and care for your dental procedures. I had a bridge made and it looks fabulous. The measurements are perfect and it looks like my own teeth. No one likes the dentist but if you have to go definitely go to South Philly Dental. Dr. Kim is a UPenn graduate and his knowledge and professionalism speak volumes about his training. They get 5+++ stars from me

I am so happy with my experience w/Dr. Kim and his staff! They are so friendly. The office is always so clean and smells so good! South Phl dental always has the most updated technology when it comes to dentistry!! I have been a patient since 2017! It's my primary care dentistry! I have also gotten a teeth whitening treatment and Invisalign. This is along with my primary care i.e. cleanings, cavities, etc. My mother, the woman who birthed me, and my little sister, who's known me her whole life asked me do I have "veneers"! (The results of my Invisalign)They said they've been urging to ask me for awhile! LOL

I absolutely love love love this place I'm using my neice page but it's me Monique Smith! I always have a great experience no pain and such a great feeling overall when I leave! This is really not the case for a DENTIST visit! Thanks for being amazing!! The entire team from check in to assistant to the BEST doctor ever!!

My experience with this Dental office was so emotional. I was self conscious about my smile for years and Dr. Kim and his staff was so understanding,funny and supportive.. They explain the process to you before hand,to see if this is a fit for you. I love the end result to my smile. It's beautiful...They will work with you to get your beautiful smile.The staff is friendly, professional and the office is always clean. I would and have recommended people to visit. You won't be disappointed.. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Best dentist office I've ever been to. The staff is always awesome all around. I am always seen at the time of my appointment and am out in a timely manner. I have never had my teeth cleaned so efficiently. They are also very inexpensive ! 10 stars .
