As a young child in her native Russia, Dr. Svetlana Novak suffered agonizing pain at the hands of a local dentist. This traumatic childhood experience inspired Dr. Novak to pursue a career in dentistry and offer others what she had been denied: compassionate, gentle dental care that focuses on comfort, safety and patient satisfaction.

Because she went through a traumatic dental experience at an early age, she is extremely sensitive to the needs of anxious and fearful patients.

At the young age of 7, Dr. Novak visited a dentist in her native Russia. She was restrained by the dentist, who proceeded to extract one of her teeth without warning or anesthesia. The agonizing pain stuck with Dr. Novak and created a long-term fear of the dentist. Although traumatic, this experience inspired Dr. Novak to follow her dental career path.

She reasoned that she could use her past trauma to prevent similar negative events from happening to others. She used a vision of the perfect dental experience to help her create her unique method of care, and she set out to provide dental care with compassion.

As she became the kind of dentist her 7-year-old self would have preferred, she gained many loyal patients who appreciated her way of putting them at ease, making them laugh, using a sensitive touch to minimize discomfort, and offering calming words. Dr. Novak received degrees in dental medicine from both Moscow Dental School and Tufts University in Boston, after which she taught restorative dentistry for three years. She established her first private practice in 1996 in Attleboro, Massachusetts, and then moved to open South Natick Dental in 2008.

Dr. Novak has seen many advances in the dental field since she decided to practice dentistry, so she understands the importance of continuing education. In fact, she regularly earns more than three times the state-required continuing education credits in order to keep her skills on the cutting edge. She frequently participates in classes and seminars from theLas Vegas Institute of Advanced Dental Studies and the Misch Implant Institute. Dr. Novak is proud to be a member of the Massachusetts Dental Society, the International Academy of Comprehensive Dentistry, the Academy of Comprehensive Esthetics and the International Congress of Oral Implantology.

Lisa is our Front Office Manager. She Lives in Attleboro Mass., with her handsome husband Jim. Jim owns JT Tree Service and still loves to climb trees! The true loves of Lisas life are her 2 Maltese dogs Sammy and Winnie. Lisa loves to travel, read and shop. Lisa has worked for Dr. Novak since 1996 and loves to chat with all the patients.

Mikayla is the hygienist here in the office. Shes a very energetic addition to office. She enjoys the summertime and spending her days off in Rhode Island by the ocean. She also has a love for animals; her crazy pug Maximus is the most spoiled puppy! She has worked for Dr. Novak since 2012.

Carolina is the certified dental assistant in the office. She is originally from Colombia and is fluent in Spanish. Her favorite part of dentistry is seeing the results that cosmetic dentistry can do for her patients. Her gentle touch and friendly chair side manner helps patients feel more relaxed and comfortable during their visit. Carolina loves spending time with her family. She lives with her two boys Nico and Mateo and her loving husband Wil. Carolina has been in the field for over ten years and has worked for Dr. Novak since 2012.
