I had a fairly large treatment plan that took the course of a few months. I don't feel I'm a very easy patient due to anxiety and sensitivity. He was super great to work with and I have found a new dentist!!

Been going for years. These guys are quick and efficient. Always making sure I am comfortable. Very competent. I'm always confident in their expertise. I will cry when he retires.

I was 17 my mom said I had dental insurance and I signed paperwork saying that I'd pay at time of treatment. Years later he sued me for 800 dollars for not paying 60 dollars for the e X-ray an X-ray isn't treatment. which he never mentioned except in collection paperwork. I have medical issues I need to pay for and don't have a job because I can barley move with fractured ribs and he's suing me for money when he makes thousands every day. The earth would be a better place without greedy people like him. Some doctors got into medical to help people some people want money.

Been going here for years. I've had 2 root canals and my wisdom teeth done with him and its always been as pleasant of an experience as they can be very informative and detail oriented. Able to work with your insurance as well. I had just switched jobs and had two different insurances to deal with and the gal at the front desk was so nice explaining everything to me and getting it taken care of. I also took my little girl in for her first check up too and the staff was outstanding with her. She went in scared to death and came out saying "I made new friends"!

WARNING!!!! Would not give this office a one star if I didn't have to in order to do this review! HORRIFIC experience at this office with the Staff as well as the Dentist! Does work that didn't have to be done to get you back in and then charges double the price of what it should be and wants it all up front before billing! Long story short.... I found an Endodontist that specializes in root canals at half the price ($450.00 difference!) I also found out a few things that were absolutely NOT necessary and that shouldn't have been done at all! What kind of Dentist or man calls a woman or female after hours to start an argument over a review that my husband did and then takes it down so that it can't be seen by the public instead of trying fix the problem?! Nothing but a huge waste of time and money and the Insurance company will pay whatever portion of WHATEVER they are being billed for leaving the remaining to come out of your pocket.... Expensive lesson to learn! TAKE YOUR TIME LOOKING FOR A DENTIST... THERE ARE GREAT, HONEST ONES OUT THERE!

I work at a dental lab (not directly affiliated, so I have no obligation to write this...I just wanted to) and all day, every day, I work up impressions taken by hundreds of dentists nationwide, and of those, one office would consistently catch my attention. You guessed it! South Mountain Dental. And this was well before I started going there myself. I won't get into the details of why their work stands out above all the others in order to keep this simple and concise (and there's a lot that goes into it) but I will say that the quality Dr Johnson's work makes our job at the lab basically effortless by comparison. Time and time again, I recognize a model (out of literally hundreds) poured up from one of his impressions well before I ever even look at the paperwork to confirm which office it came out of. To me, the attention to detail and skill was so apparent, that I decided to switch to South Mountain for my own dental work, and I'm so glad I did! It was the obvious move - and I only gained more confidence in their professionalism after each visit. They definitely surpass their competitors by a wide margin, in my opinion.

Run!!! Don't walk AWAY from this dentist. First time visit for me at South Mountain Dental, with Dr. Johnson for an exam and hygienist for cleaning. From the moment I sat in the chair I felt like an interruption to the staff's day and Dr. Johnson as well. For a first visit it was one of the most cold and detached experiences I have had. All the staff including Dr. Johnson obviously just wanted to get my appointment over with and quickly. The so-called hygienist skimmed over my teeth, with no attention to detail whatsoever. I think it took all of about 10 minutes, then Dr. Johnson came in exam room, sat down looked at my X-rays and said everything looks fine, didn't even exam my teeth or check for cavities, or gum problems, NOTHING!!!!.No exam took place, it was a superficial glance at best. Don't those patients that choose to participate in preventative dentistry, such as a cleanings and exams have the expectation of dentists or hygienist finding a potential problem early on and fixing it before it gets out of proportion? I only wish that had happened at South Mountain Dental with Dr. Johnson. Unfortunately, Dr. Johnson's oversight caused me to have a major root canal, due to a broken tooth over Memorial Day weekend. If that had been detected with Dr. Johnson as it should have been, he could have simply crowned the tooth, and no root canal needed. We as patients must be able to rely on the expertise of our doctors, and when that trust is compromised is such an egregious way, there must be zero tolerance, or they will continue to practice in the same manner. I am writing this review to hopefully spare another patient from the same outcome, as I confronted Dr. Johnson via phone call to express my feelings, I was treated badly by him and he was also very unprofessional, claiming I was being dishonest, as an obvious deflection of responsibility on his part. I wound up having an AAE Specialist Endodontist D.D.S.,MS perform my root canal, and an ADA dentist finish with the crown. They both concur the large molar was in obvious need of attention and repair in April, and was overlooked, both professionals said it had a huge cavity as well, which is what caused the tooth to finally break off. I had to go several days before any work could be done on the molar because of the holiday time off, and many dentists took the entire week off following Memorial Day, and of course I also had the task of researching and finding a new dentist after my horrible experience at South Mountain Dental, which made it even more difficult to get right in to a dentist you have not seen before. Dr. Johnson's oversight cost me nearly $900.00, as Dr. Johnson would take NO ownership whatsoever for his error, not even an apology. The information in this review will also be provided on Health grades, another valuable patient resource for researching REPUTABLE dentists and doctors, and other specific medical professionals.

Highly recommend this dentist . I've been having Dr. Johnson take care of my teeth for 8 plus years and he's been awesome . Not one complaint . The staff has always been excellent .

We recently moved to the area and needed a new dentist. I took all four of my kids to Dr. Johnson. His staff were all very friendly. The office was clean and tidy. We didn't wait at all for the appointments and Dr. Johnson was great with the kids. He made them feel comfortable and was very professional. I've got a mouth full of dental work that needs to be done and I will be going to Dr. Johnson for it.

Horrible experience. Stay away from this guy. Bait and switch billing. If you get a balance billed to you after seeing these guys, my advice is to question it, you might be surprised...
